“As a busy working, traveling mom, I was trying to plan my precious daughter’s sixth birthday party when I was out of town and was in a bind because I didn’t order a cake I envisioned in advance. The bakery called me back promptly as I was sitting at the airport in Boston, I sent over a picture of the unicorn cake I envisioned, and they had it ready along with 2 dozen cupcakes that day! Also ordered their butter cookies and the broffee and it was all a huge hit with our guests. Thanks again for coming to the rescue. My daughter and her friends absolutely fell in love with the magical unicorn cake.“

Weekends start off right with an SBK pizza on a Friday night. I’ve been coming here for years. During Covid, SBK became my local grocery store. The owner and employees are all very sweet and the space is vibrant—in the summer the full windows open and it's just a really pleasant spot to grab breakfast or lunch. Would love to see more authentic, small places like this open up and thrive in the North Shore.“

“I love this bakery! I first came on the Flavors of Albany Park tour and have returned since for wonderful baked goods. The owners are so friendly and generous. I got the peanut cream pastry, red bean cream bun, and a green tea cake. They gave me a corn cake to try as well which was so kind! Everything they make is light, perfectly sweet, and so good.

“A marvelous small pastry and coffee shop with a great variety of organic sweet treats! Love it! 😍. Nuns speak french and a little bit of English. All cakes look amazing and those I tried are to die for. Amazing fresh baked French bread and specialty crafted wine selection (buy for home only). Calm classical music adds the final touch to make your morning or afternoon coffee a remembering experience. I only would like to see some loose leaf tees on the menu. I strongly recommend visiting this place.“

They have Saudi products such as dates and dates, which are of good quality. I advise you to try their fresh baked goods and pastries. a couple cakes for some family birthday parties, and one very special unicorn cake for my toddler’s birthday. I walked in, described what I was looking for, and every cake I ordered turned out so much better than I could have imagined! The cakes were all absolutely beautiful and DELICIOUS! Kids and adults alike kept raving about them - and the process couldn’t have been easier. This baker is a gem to work with and he makes some very good baked goods. Wouldn’t think twice about going back, and recommended it to everyone at the party. Plus, he’s less than half the cost of some of these “designer” bakers out there - and it was SUCH a beautiful cake!!

“I recently visited this spot and tried the Nova Lox Bagel. While the bagel itself was fresh and well-toasted, the salmon was a letdown. Nova lox is typically known for being less salty than regular smoked salmon, but in this case, it was overly salty and overwhelmed the other flavors. The toppings, like cream cheese, capers, and onions, were well-balanced, but the saltiness of the salmon really detracted from the overall experience.

I also decided to try the apricot cookie, but that turned out to be a mistake. I was surprised to learn it cost nearly $5—far more than I expected for a single cookie. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing; it was so unpalatable that I couldn’t even finish it. The texture was dense and off-putting, and the apricot flavor was barely there. It felt like a waste of money, and I left feeling dissatisfied.

The prices were reasonable for the bagel, but the quality didn’t fully match my expectations. As for the cookie, it was overpriced and not worth trying again. Overall, a mixed experience—there’s potential, but the execution fell short.“

“They r so nice there. My daughter took me there a few years ago she likes there bagels with lox I think I'm spelling that right lol and cream cheese, I tried a garlic bagel with cream cheese and chives and coffee they were really good. I'm going to try there brisket next time I go.

“You want European bites of pure bliss… try them. Have a wide variety of pastries and it is a very unique way of tasting something that is common 10,000 miles away. Beef, Chicken and Pork are used in this pastry alongside feta and cabbage ( sauerkraut). A Must and A favorite.“

“I had an absolutely lovely experience here! This is a great bakery just off of Devon st. I would've normally walked past it but today the smell of fresh baked cookies welcomed me in. I was greeted by a friendly face and respite from the crisp cold air of Chicago winter. While browsing their products, the owner came out with warm freshly baked almond cookies for me to try. Normally I like my cookies with tea, but these were just perfect on their own: moist, warm, sweet, and crunchy! Before I even had the chance to finish mine, he came out with more cookies for me to try. I left with 3 boxes of cookies, one of them he packed for me from the fresh batched just pulled out of the oven.

I highly recommend this bakery to anyone nearby! It's been here for 30 years for a reason, and hopefully it will be here for 30 more!“

“This is kind of a cabby joint. The food is good, slightly cheaper than other places, but they've been slowly raising their prices. It's getting close to only coming here once in a while because prices getting too high. I like the food and as of this review, the portion of meat to rice is good. I plan to come back for now.
