“I ordered 2 pans of rib tips and potato salad for a birthday party. They were prompt with my order and the guests loved the ribs! They couldn't stop talking about the way they were cut and tender. I was equally impressed by the potato salad because everyone doesn't make it the same way. I will be returning soon“

Place is legit with some perfectly smoked meats, delicious variety of sauces, and some great customer service. Got the opportunity to chat with CJ and her husband, the two owners. Two great people with a great backstory, full of dedication and grind. Highly recommend the pulled pork, rib tips, and brisket. I hope one of you two see this, I genuinely had a great time and experience today. You two should be super proud.“

“Had three of us for lunch and everything we had was outstanding! The Ribs, Pulled Pork, chicken, greens, bbq beans, nachos, Mac n cheese were all goodness! BBQ done right at City BBQ, no doubt, real deal. The swine wine sauce is good on anything, even a shoe! I bought 3 bottles! Oh, and the hand cut fries I added on as an additional side were money too!“

“I haven’t been to Big Walt’s since I was in my teens I remember when he first opened. Surprisingly the food is still good like it was back then…eating this food felt so nostalgic. The customer service was great, they smiled and made small talk with me. I noticed they allowed a lot of businesses to put their flyers and business cards up I thought that was really nice support of the local entrepreneurs. I asked for a 10 piece bbq and buffalo wing light sauce and it was great. Also got a personal meat lovers with extra sauce, sausage and cheese. It was really good but Ima have to ask them for more than that on my next visit I like my pizza loaded on some Xtrodinary pizza type…I would’ve gave them 5 stars but I think the owner should add more lights out front and security at night. As a woman alone I didn’t feel safe going in with so many random men standing outside. I noticed another woman who looked nervous as well and she repositioned her truck to be right in front of the door. I seriously contemplated on leaving my order…We want good food but we want to feel safe as well.

Ps. I’m not quite sure how my order came up to over $30 if the wings are .89 cent a piece and a personal all meat is $8??? I normally tip but it seems like they added it for me so I didn’t, next time I will get my receipt“

“We tried @halfliter_bbq in #Indianapolis, and this is what we rated them. A couple of things first. It was their Octoberfest, so they were very busy. Even with that, the food was out in 6 minutes! Brisket 8.5. Bark was very good, and the meat fell apart. Pork 7.8. Smoked well, was just dry Chicken Breast 8.8 Best thing we tried here for sure. Smoked wings 6.5. Very good flavor, but it was super dry Turkey. 7.9. Thick and smoked well, just a little to dry for us Sausage 8.0. Good flavor with a little heat Also, the pickled onions were outstanding. The ribs are tender and swimming in a sauce so good it can only be handmade. The sides leave nothing to want for and the staff is just as sweet as the sweet potato pie. Hands down the best place for ribs in the state, they must animals volunteering to lay on that smoker because they know a pit master when they see one! 10/10“

“I recently visited His Place Eatery while in Indianapolis and decided to try something a little different — the grilled collard greens and cheese sandwich with sweet potatoes, plus an additional side of collard greens.

The collard greens grilled cheese is a great and creative concept. My only concern was that the greens were a bit too juicy, which made the sandwich soggy. Because of that, it’s probably not something I would order again personally.

That said, the food overall was very tasty, and the flavors were on point. The collard greens and sweet potatoes were well-seasoned and enjoyable. I appreciate the creativity and soul put into the dishes.

The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, making it a good spot if you're craving traditional comfort food.

I'll most definitely revisit and try other items on the menu!

“Went there for lunch and offered two small rib tip dinners. One spicy one mild and sizes were green bean and Mac n cheese/ potato salad and baked beans. Oh and a slice of chess pie. The rib tips were plentiful and nice size. The sauce was spicy but not overly. Mac and cheese was creamier than cheesy. I liked it my girl said it tasted like stovetop. The green beans were alright could have had a lil bit more seasoning tho. Baked beans were out the can with some brown sugar. The chess pie was good but I'm used to sweeter versions. All in all 40 bucks spent well.“

“We held our October 2022 wedding ceremony and reception at Liter House and loved the experience! Drew and the whole event staff were helpful, kind, and easy to work with. We loved our brunch reception with delicious breakfast food and classic Sahm’s coffee cake. The event space is warm, inviting, and the right size to host lots of different types of weddings or gatherings. Also, the location is perfect - the Monon trail is a gorgeous place for pictures and features a lot of cool artwork/murals. I definitely recommend checking out Liter House for your event!“

“I’ve been here a few times and the food doesn’t disappoint. I did have a disappointing experience today with our bill however. There was an extra meal charged on our bill which I brought to our servers attention. When she returned, I found that instead of voiding and printing a corrected bill, she ran a credit charge for the overage. This meant I had to pay the higher incorrect charge and wait (from what I understand) a couple 3-4 days for the credit to return to my card. I don’t feel it appropriate that the customer pay for the billing error then have to wait for a refund. I did let them know I wasn’t happy about it. I will be watching that I do receive this credit. It also put a bad taste in my mouth about returning anytime soon.“
