“We made reservations well in advance for Christmas Eve dinner at The Eldridge. Our service was so terrible and our waitress was so rude, we left after we finally got our incorrect drink order. We sat for an unreasonably long time before we were even greeted. After the waitress was openly hostile to us, we left money on the table for the incorrect drinks and left before we even ordered dinner. We walked 10 steps over to 715 and were greeted warmly and seated immediately at the bar. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, fun and bustling. If you want great service, excellent food and great atmosphere, just go next door to 715. They saved our Christmas Eve date night, and we didn’t even have reservations! Thank you 715!!”

“This is a fine restaurant with one exception. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. Menus were handed to us before we even sat down and it went downhill. On at least three occasions I had to speak up and ask the servers to slow down and stop being so attentive so we could enjoy out meal and conversation. Every time I started a conversation with my son. whom we had not seen in awhile, someone interrupted with some trivial question. I am used to dining where the servers are essentially unobtrusive until needed. I am prepared to give this restaurant a try again because I did like the food. However, I am taking another couple out to clebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and I am going to be very up front about the service expected before we sit down. I get that "turn" is the name of the game but this isn't a fast food joint. If they expect to have repeat business with the older and well-heeled crowd they need to be a little more attentive to the needs of their customers.”

“HOORAY FOR ICE CREAM! Baskin-Robbins has been a favorite of one for decades (literally). My favorite flavor is Daiquiri Ice and it used to be available only during the summer months. NOT ANY MORE! YAY! it's year round! As I'm driving all over Larryville doing errands I think why not pop by and get some? It's on the way home (Kinda, sorta. Ok! Not at all but who cares?) 🤣 I get there and walk in. Folks, it's so clean! And bright and airy! Love it! I look at all the flavors and spot my fave and that's when I'm told it's year round now instead of summer only! The clerk is super friendly and so helpful! I spot a coffee & oreo cookie flavor for hubby! Excellent! I request 2 small tubs for take away. The clerk explains to me that the small tubs are 8.00+ for 4 scoops and the next size up is 11.00+ for almost double. I bet he's a marketing major because I absolutely go with that. As he's bagging them for me I spot another fave-black walnut! YES! I ask for and get a small cup (it's protein because of the walnuts) and I eat it in my car (not driving). It's extremely creamy and the maple taste is perfect with the crunchy walnuts. YUMMY! I hurry up eating it as I don't want my oversized tubs melting and well, because it's that good and I don't want to share with hubby nor tell him I had extra. I also ditch the evidence. This wonderful place on 23rd is a slice of Heaven. Try the Daiquiri Ice!!!!”

The only food options are a variety of bagels with different kinds of sweet or savory spreads. The drinks are the stars of the show there - I've never had one I didn't like. A little pricey, but a lot of the drink components are made in-house so you're getting quality ingredients and complexity of flavor. A real gem of Lawrence, if you ask me!”

I live in Johnson County, so my only complaint is that they don't have a location in Overland Park or Olathe! Mohammed always seems to make an effort to stop by the tables, to ensure all the guests are completely satisfied. The Raja dip is delicious, and you'll NEVER have a better glass of lemonade! There's even a bowl out in front of the building, for dogwalkers to stop by and give their furry friends a refreshing drink of water. (It's the little things). The KC location is equally as nice, but this spot is a gem on Mass Street, for sure.”

It’s the talk of our friend group and work on how amazing the food was, which is always good to hear since wedding food is known for being average… but they were far from average. If you are thinking of booking them for your next event, take this as a sign to do it! Thank you again, we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to serve our favorite people but TACO ZONE!”

“Had a great experience before leaving Lawrence this morning. The cafe we were planning on going to for breakfast was closed, so we went a couple storefronts down to Global Cafe. The weather was gorgeous and we ate outside. I had a fantastic smoothie and latte. In the time it took us to finish our meal, I watched as the waitstaff handed out no less than eight free to-go breakfasts and coffees to what appeared to be people without housing. From the interactions I witnessed, it was clear that these were regular customers, and the waitstaff treated them with such dignity - just like any other customer. “Their atmosphere can feel a little overwhelming with space, density, and music. They might benefit from slowing the music down to psychologically slow and calm the atmosphere in the restaraunt. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but kept a positive face, well done servers, stocking, and cleaning staff! Just slow that atmosphere down a bit, perhaps move the tables right next to the line for buffet food for comfortability and space, and I think this place will be successful!! Food was very good, and they had an amazing array of delicious sushi!”

Despite the name sounding like a gentlemens club, I got two pizzas for 11.99 and some pickle stickz, total was 22 dollars. The person I spoke to on the phone was very kind, and helped me order a Cheeseburger pizza even though it had been taken off the menu. When I received my pizza and stickz, I was almost brought to tears. I've never enjoyed pizza and ranch so much, in fact I hate ranch, but Toppers ranch is something else. I can't stop thinking about Toppers. I wish I could eat it everyday, but I know thats not possible. God bless Toppers, never go out of business. The hardworking American people deserve good quality pizza until 3 in the morning.”

“Hands down the best Asian American food I've had since moving to Lawrence. Fried rice was fresh and had that wok hei flavor you'd want in rice. The sesame chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and delicious! Not too much sauce, and not too sweet either. And the egg roll was phenomenal. The most surprising part was the portion which is almost as much as what my wife and I would eat together. I will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.”

He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!”

“I do like most things from hog wild but I have to mention this. Sour cream does **not** get baked. When heated, it curdles into hard, dry crumbles, and that’s not how anyone wants their sour cream. It needs to be packaged separately or put on top of the potato, not underneath cheese and everything else. It’s gross and it ruins an otherwise perfectly fine potato. That just isn’t how dairy should be prepared for safe consumption. Really hope you guys take this as a serious request because this is not the first potato I’ve got like this and it’s really disgusting.”
