“Beignets. We tried them all. On our way to the battlefield, we happened to pass Parish Diner and decided to stop. Good thing we did! Easily the best beignets in New Orleans. Unanimous vote!“

“Classic home cooking in the parish...but this place is hard to beat!! I ordered the Friday special--shrimp pasta with 2 big catfish filets, corn and garlic bread. That meal was fire!!! And plenty enough to share! The wife had a cup of gumbo(it was more like a bowl!) that was FULL of chicken and sausage!! The employees were super friendly and the prices were very fair. Don't sleep on this place.“

“I like love it because of its simplicity, awesome food, and service. The waiting staff don't bother, you get your food almost immediately (fresh and fast) and if you choose to eat their the booths are very secluded so you and a friend, co worker, date etc can eat undisturbed (my favorite part). Highly recommend“

“We were blown away on our first visit this morning!! Ryan is a talented mixologist in the bar creating beautiful, delicious and truly unique drinks. Our server Louis was incredibly charming and attentive, giving us excellent menu choices —as it was a hard decision. Every dish was a work of art—both in presentation and flavor. The whole experience was top-notch, and we can’t wait to come back!“

“My husband and I went on Friday night for dinner. Could not wait to try the new menu and it was simply awesome. To start with, our sever team was Isaac and Cheyanne and they were great. We never waited for anything. The Hot Crab Claws and Foie Gras Torte for appetizers were divine. I ordered the Duck Cassoulet and my husband had the visiting fish, Sea Bass over Yakamein. While the fish was excellent, the Duck ruled the table. Thanks to the Servers and Kitchen for a wonderful meal. We'll be back.“

“This place really left a lasting impression. From the hostess, our server, the bathrooms, food, price point, time we spent. Everything was on point. We had oysters, gumbo, bisque, redfish, and house salad. Everything was divine!!! Keep up the good work! Also loved that it was so very clean.“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans was at Toups! We had a charcuterie board with their house made hogs head cheese, chicken liver mousse and foie gras accompanied by house pickles. Simply incredible!! The hogs head cheese was the best I’ve ever had! I especially loved the chunkiness of it with nice pieces of tender pork! The crispy turkey necks! Oh my goodness… AMAZING! The braised lamb neck entree was exquisite with a generous portion and crispy spaetzle! Even leftover, it was great!! I also had their pork chop and applesauce cocktail which was creative and also delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant! Great work Chef Isaac and team!“

“I am a middle aged white woman, so take that for what it's worth. But shiiiiiiiit my 98% Caucasian self was rocking in the corner sobbing because my 2% African heritage (thank you ancestry.com) was set free and gone wild. I have no idea what they do to the food here (clearly I can't cook) but daaaaaaaaang my taste buds have never been so happy. I'm saving the green beans for last, never in my life have I said that. They are that good. Do yourself a favor, eat here. Eat everything here!“

“Wow! Three of us ate lunch at Cafe Reconcile, the food was absolute perfection. We started with the fried turkey necks appetizer. Going into it we weren't sure what to expect but let me tell you.... they were unbelievably good!!! All of us had the Fried Green Tomato BLT on Jalapeno Cornbread Toast.... more perfection! Side dishes were Gumbo and Sweet Potato Crumble.....yep, perfection! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and absolutely spotless. The staff were exceptional and very attentive. The prices were extremely reasonable and I guarantee you won't find better food at an expensive high end restaurant. Be sure to check this place out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“I dined at at 5 of best restaurants in New Orleans from last Sunday through Thursday: Best tie. Mr B's and Antoine's - excellent food &service Next - Commander's Palace and Brennans - very good Poor and Worst !!! Arnauds - truly disappointing! Cold food , poorly staffed. Living on their reputation that is no longer warranted! Overpriced is no surprise“

“Kelly is the best. I live in Shreveport, but had to do my family reunion events in or around New Orleans. Food Symphony was recommended to me by my cousin. I called Kelly and she got the ball rolling. We had good communication through the planning of my Meet and Greet Event for my family. When I walked into my rented space, I was amazed how beautiful the entire set up was. I had the colors I wanted, and all the foods I had requested. The foods were beyond delicious. My family enjoyed the foods, and can't stop talking about the experience that had in Harvey, Louisiana at the Food Symphony/Timeless Moments Event Hall. Thank you Kelly and Trena. Everything was pleasing.“

“My bestie and I visited Monday during Essence Fest Weekend and had the best server Centorrey. She was very attentive and honest from the time we sat down til the time we departed. Her customer service was A+++ Centorrey made coming to this restaurant a joy that I had to see her manager personally and verbally tell him what an amazing job she did. Thank you so much Centorrey and Hadji (Manager) for a great experience. The food and drinks were on point as well just removed those little airplane fans because that do nothing for that NOLA heat. I'll see you guys on my next visit“

“Activity 2: Paddlewheeler Creole Queen – Mississippi River Cruise 🚢
📍1 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA
It was a 2-hour Mississippi River cruise with Creole Queen, included in our Go City Pass (worth $47).
You’ll need to reserve ahead, then exchange your pass for a paper ticket at the booth before boarding. Bags get checked, and hang on to your ticket. (it’s needed again after the stop.)
We boarded at 2PM (without the meal plan) and cruised past landmarks like the Crescent City Connection bridge, St. Louis Cathedral, Domino Sugar Factory, and more. The highlight? A 50-minute stop at Chalmette Battlefield, site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans, where General Andrew Jackson led U.S. forces to victory. Even though the visitor center was closed, a park ranger was on site to give us a quick history rundown.
We didn’t have time to walk to the National Cemetery, which holds over 15,000 graves from various U.S. wars. It had just been beautifully decorated with flags for Memorial Day that something our guide said took 200 volunteers four hours to complete!
💡 A ship photographer offers printed photos at the end (He took the photos before on board.) — kinda pricey at $25 for two, but we couldn’t resist grabbing one as a keepsake.
Bonus: Right next to the dock is Riverwalk Outlets where is perfect for a little shopping before or after the cruise!
This river tour was a great mix of views and history. If you’re into both, definitely add it to your New Orleans itinerary!
Our next stop: just a 3-minute walk to Vue New Orleans. Activity 3 coming up!“
