“Decent Japanese Korean cuisine. Atmosphere gives off Asian asthestics with a water fountain at the entrance. Pricing is more on middle-high-end, so a group can easily rack up a bill of 150 to 200 dollars depending on what you select. There are reasonable amount of alcoholic choices. Dessert wise is limited. Food quality is passable, as the thin slices of meat are on the dry side, so if you have a hard time with dry over cook food, you may need sauce or condiments to compensate. One my group members commented the food taste sweet, so to be fair, Asian foods that use teriyaki sauce in their ingredients will taste sweeter than the usual Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I would like to try sushi but it usually expensive here compared to a strictly sushi restaurant. Overall this one the better quality restaurants I've been to around the Greater Boston Area.“

“Only reason 4/5 for atmosphere is that they turned down the lights drastically at around 7 PM weekdays, it was too dark to see your meal properly.
However by then my meal was finished.
Ramen is delicious, I didnt ask for chili oil as broth was sufficient alone.
Ordered one sushi and it was one roll but loosely wrapped in seaweed.
Service is quick, I would be surprised if anything takes more than 10 mins.
If you with a group, get a table. Two or a pair can share side by side bar/top seating.“

“Matsunori is a comfort spot I keep going back to. Boston is definitely lacking in terms of handroll places, so the opening of this spot was a win, for sure. The fish quality is pretty good and each handroll is crafted with care (in terms of ingredients pairing). I personally really love the OG miso cod, Eel with foie gras, Mango salmon, and Spicy tuna. All the ingredients mesh perfectly together without overpowering the ⭐ of the show (the fish).
While they don’t offer reservations and are usually super busy (weekdays&weekends), today we got there around 7pm (on a weekday) and there was no wait, which was nice. Our server, Duc, was so attentive and helpful. Rolls came out super quick, as always. Definitely recommend checking this place out!!“

“Had my birthday here, and I have to say this has been one of the most unexpectedly unique dining experiences I’ve had. People have said a lot of nice things—how inventive, creative, fresh—about the food, but I’m moved by the stories behind each bite. The place is not your regular omakase. Each course contains a little bit of where the chef’s from, where he’s been and worked, and what he—most locals — grown up eating. If other omakase are trying to out do each other in exclusivity and luxury, then this place delivers sincerity, originality, and a taste of New England you can’t find in any other omakase place. You are guaranteed to walk away with a meaningful and beautiful memory. I hope more people go and give this place a try.“

“Great food, great service. The yakitori are grilled to perfection. The wait staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drink menu offers an array of sake, cocktails, wine and beer. Cannot wait to go back and try more food!“

“Here’s a polished review you can post:
Tried Pokeworks at Quincy Market in Boston and honestly wish I found this place sooner! The market itself was super crowded and a bit overstimulating on a Saturday night, and the location was slightly hard to find because it was packed with people — but that’s definitely more about Quincy Market being busy than the restaurant itself.
I did a collect order and highly recommend doing that because my food was ready straight away with no waiting around. The portions were EXTREMELY generous and definitely good value for money. I got the poke salad bowl with tuna and prawns and added literally every topping possible (which was great because there were so many included at no extra cost). Everything tasted fresh and filling, and I was seriously impressed by how much food I got.
Left feeling very full and very satisfied. Would absolutely go back again!“

“My son and I stopped here for lunch. Their Bento box lunch specials are excellent - both in the quality of food and the value for what you get! It came with miso soup, a small fresh salad, fried tempura, 3 pieces of a sushi roll of your choice, sashimi pieces and the protein you pick on a bed of rice. I got the chicken katsu and added curry for $2 extra and my son got the shrimp. If we lived in town, we would eat here a lot! Highly recommend!“

“This was our second time dining at Ebi Sushi, and just like our first visit, everything was fantastic. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared every time. Our server, Amanda, was wonderful friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s service like hers that really adds to the experience. Jose, the owner, has truly outdone himself with this place. You can tell he takes great pride in what he’s built from the quality of the dishes to the amazing team that brings it all together. We’ll definitely be back again before the new location opens, and we’re looking forward to visiting that one as well. Ebi Sushi has become one of our favorite date night spots consistently great food, great people, and a great vibe. 🍣❤️“

“This was one of the BEST omakase experiences I have ever had. The attention to detail was extraordinary. I ate at several two and three star Michelin restaurants last summer in France and I was happier with my dining experience at Umami. The quality of ingredients is absolutely stellar and it is truly a treat for all the senses. Go!!“

“We made reservations online for the Omaska. It was $300 which broke down to $120 per person with tip and tax. The tables were perfectly space out. They gave us a 2 hour limit which was enough time for the 12 course Omaska. Presentation on everything was amazing. Each course was fresh and delicious in their own way. It was hard to hear the man over his mask so I couldn't get any names. We had uni, tuna belly, scallops, and more. All the Courses were small but packed with favor. You can take there was attention to detail in the ingredients and presentation. Definitely, worth the money was a special event like a birthday. Would definitely come back“
“We came to Cactus Club Boston to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and had such a great time! The atmosphere was so fun and beautiful, the food was really good, and the drinks were amazing. Everything was perfect for a birthday celebration and we had such a fun night together. The staff was also so friendly and attentive. Definitely a great place for a celebration or a night out with friends!“

“This is my favorite sushi place, bar none. The food is a great value given the quantity and quality, and the customer service couldn't be better. They recognize me when I come to pick up lunch despite only going about once a month, and the staff is always so friendly. I recommend it to all my coworkers, and always look forward to my lunches from there.“

“Tried the omakase which was a great experience. Service was great. Food let me down, actually. The pork belly dish wasn't interesting. Way too many dishes with strawberries - this idea that strawberries and fish go together should end. I really did like the roasted escolar however.“

“Being a white dude I got fried gyozas and shrimp tempura maki. Both were fantastic. I feel like a lot of gyozas taste the same but these had a great fry to them with a flavorful filling. Maki was really nicely sauced and the Shinto tempura beautifully fried.“

“This mazesoba was the best meal my family and I had on our short trip to Massachusetts!! The bowls themselves were gorgeous, and the noodles were perfect to match. The decor of the restaurant is also very beautiful and inviting. The vegan mazesoba is amazing, a must try if you’re in the area and looking for a filling meal!“

“I ordered the sashimi don and it was much larger than I expected. The fish assortment was fresh and they gave a lot of that, which I really enjoyed. However there were green chili under the fish and I didn’t see it because it blended with the veggies. The menu also didn’t say this, and it was a big issue for me as I cannot eat spicy at all. I initially thought it was the gochujang, but the hotness got worse and worse and I almost couldn’t continue eating. The restaurant should really specify these things as it’s not obvious from just the menu name.
Nevertheless, the staff were really nice and helpful and I appreciate their service. The store was decorated with a homey japanese / korean vibe. The toilet was a bit old and smelled, but other than that it was a great experience. Might go back and order something else.“

“I’ve been meaning to make a review of this place but selfishly don’t want this best kept secret to get out… alas I won’t gate keep!!
In a city of (I’ll say it) overpriced and mediocre food, ono poke stands apart. It’s not easy to find… small and hidden down a set of stairs near porter with only a small sign to guide you. But what ono does well is consistiently incredible poke. I don’t know how but every time the avocados are ripe, the salmon or tuna so fresh and the rice, warm and buttery tasting like it was just made.
I’ve been to ono probably 30 times and I plan to go 30 more. I don’t even particularly love poke I just love THIS poke.
You can tell when owners put love and care into their food and that’s what I feel here. It’s no frills and it’s done well. I’m gluten free and they made sure to label things that have gluten as well. I feel normal here like it’s not an inconvenience. I ❤ ono poke forever“

“2 floors. Walking in from Temple Street you have the option to dine upstairs with a limited menu and cocktail forward experience while listening to vinyl. If Sushi is what you came for, you’ll be brought downstairs. Both spaces are narrow giving you an Intimate dining/cocktail experience. Nostalgia on the walls of retro music and items. My experience was downstairs where I ordered the 5 Kan Mori, Hamachi Maki, Negi Toro and I can’t remember the name but it had Mackerel that was torched. All of it was excellent. The Hamachi Maki and Negi Toro comes with wasabi and soy already added to the rolls, however I asked for extra wasabi based on preference. Worth the experience.“

“Genuinely don’t understand why this place is empty save for my family when we come in - The waiters are attentive, and the food and milk tea are both spectacular. They offer a lot more options than most sushi restaurants as well! Seems like a really lovely family business and I would definitely recommend.“

“Don’t be fooled by the somewhat outdated interior and hole in the wall feel. The focus here is on the food!
Good quality fish, creative rolls, and efficient service. The price-to-value ratio can’t be beat. Tastes that much better with the reasonable prices. Note that you can tell the fish is not top-notch quality, but it hits all the right notes for an everyday sushi craving. Some rolls are more outstanding than others. My favorite so far was one that incorporated crunchy tempura bits into the minced tuna topping (forgot the name!).
We loved our recent visits so much that we’re getting platters from here for a holiday party. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be a hit.“

“Overall good with fun cocktails, but the space is kind of tight. While the food is good, the rolls came all at once so felt like we had to scarf down the rolls asap otherwise they would get soggy on the tray. Made it a bit harder to enjoy than like at Matsunori (I believe these are sister restaurants and their food was fresh in our memories) where the rolls are served one at a time. Bed tallow fries are always a hit.“

“A best kept secret. I work in a corporate office downtown, and this is one of my favorite spots for lunch.
Food is delicious. I 1000% recommend the double salmon maki and dragon maki.
Service is quick and friendly. Everything is made fresh. Space is clean. Convenient location too.
And it’s not overwhelmingly busy/slow unlike other spots downtown during the lunch rush, which is why this is a go-to for me.“

“I’m truly impressed by the thoughtfulness and quality of food given the price point. This is better than those expensive omakase in Boston I’ve ever tried.
One comment - the sauce for eel hand roll is way too sweet & heavy - and it covered the natural umami flavor of the fish. Besides this, great experience!“

“Food was fantastic.
The reason I took off a star isn't a great reason because we didn't all for this up front, but they refused to give separate checks or split the check more than two ways (we asked for 3 since we couldn't get our own check), that was frustrating.“

“Absolutely blown away — my new favorite restaurant!
I placed my first order from Salem, NH, and it arrived perfectly packaged and fresh. From the very first bite, I was hooked. This might already be my new favorite restaurant — it’s that good.
I ordered the Baked Salmon Maki, the Ebi Mango Maki, and the Green Tea Cheesecake. Every single item was delicious. The maki rolls were packed with flavor, beautifully prepared, and the salmon was perfectly baked. The Ebi Mango combination was such a great sweet-savory mix, and the green tea cheesecake was the perfect way to finish the meal — creamy, not too sweet, and full of flavor.
I can’t wait to order again. Highly recommend!“
