“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“The fried noodle is delicious. Unfortunately the soup is beef broth otherwise I could eat that too
We ordered pumpkin mochi it has red bean in it which tasted good. The famous taro puff also not to be missed.

“Had a last-minute birthday dinner here for 10. They were really busy but squeezed us in when they heard it was my birthday. The food was beautiful - I had tried the brilliant NYC outlet before and this did not disappoint. Fresh and varied flavours, great price, fast as lightning. The incredibly friendly staff sang me happy birthday, and even gave me a small gift! What more could I ask for?“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Soup dumplings are great but they also have an interesting menu with a great selection of dry noodles, noodle soups and various dumplings. The Chongqing noodles with yellow peas and pork is probably my favorite thing here. Service was fast and friendly. Casual spot for some great food and maybe some new things to try.“

“Tucked away between other small businesses and apartments sits the quaint and humble hole in the wall freshly made pan-fried buns spot my friends raved about. And it certainly lived up the hype. I was enamored by the ladies preparing the buns visible thru the storefront window, and the utter vibes of the fresh construction just down the road and clear skies made for a refreshing meal in the breezy but warm weather outside. The noodles are a generous portion and full of intense spice (if spicy) and flavorful options, especially when accompanied by 4 golf-ball sized handmade friend buns.“

“Found this place on Google & Pinterest. So glad we gave it a try. The chicken corn soup was sweet and delicious, we had pork and cabbage dumplings, spring rolls, hot tea, fried rice and kimchi. It was all delicious. I don’t use chop sticks so they brought me a fork. Would highly recommend this place it was busy but we don’t have to wait long for a table and they had a steady line of to go orders going out as well.“

“Staying down the street at the Marriott, not much choice of decent food around here. I enjoyed Oriental Gourmet with its simple atmosphere, friendly service, and most importantly—their delicious food. Better than any Chinese food I had in Chinatown, down a quiet little road (at least at 6:30pm). Dined in. Plus the Oolong Tea was the best tea I have had in ages at a Chinese restaurant!“

“I get takeout from Zoe's pretty regularly and dine in there occasionally. It's become one of my favorite Chinese restaurants around (and I've tried many!). The food is consistently excellent- fresh, with high-quality ingredients. Favorites include beef with black mushroom and water chestnuts, salt and pepper shrimp, and stir-fried spinach with garlic. There's also a good selection of authentic Sichuan and Hunan dishes.“

“If you’re in search of an exceptional vegetarian hotpot experience, look no further than DLY!
The star of the show is undoubtedly the fresh and delicious base sauce. It’s rich in flavor and truly elevates every ingredient you choose. DLY offers both buffet options and individual orders, which is perfect for any dining preference. We opted for the buffet, and I must say, it was incredibly filling! You get to explore a wide variety of vegetables, noodles, and proteins to create your ideal hotpot.
One of the highlights is the fresh topping station. Here, you can pick up a selection of sides that add extra bursts of flavor to your hotpot. Whether you prefer a spicy kick or something more savory, the options are plentiful and allow for customization that makes the meal even more enjoyable.
Overall, DLY is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a fantastic vegetarian hotpot experience. Fresh ingredients, delicious sauces, and a fun buffet format make it a perfect place for both casual dining and special occasions. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure!“

“We have a new office in Boston. So periodically I drive down from our main office to the Boston location and every time I do, I have resolved to try a new restaurant. This was today’s choice and it was SPECTACULAR! My server was fantastic. The food came out quickly and was insanely good. I didn’t know how big my stir-fried rice cake bowl would be so I ordered the sweet and sour pork loin to go with it. But the rice cake bowl was huge and tasted incredible. Lots of heat, lots of fresh prepared veggies and meat. 10/10 would recommend that dish. The pork tenderloin I tried and 10/10 would recommend it as well. The location is a bit small and that is literally the only nit I can pick. If you’re in this area, get some take out or eat in , you won’t regret it!!“

“Visiting in the Boston area, I was looking for a Chinese restaurant within walking distance for take out back to my hotel and I found the perfect place at Peach farm. I Ordered the beef and broccoli , pork mei fun and pork fried rice. The beef and broccoli was delicious with fresh broccoli and this was some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Very generous portions also, I would definitely eat here again on my next trip to Boston.“

“Food Wise , the pleasant surprise of the week. We chose PFC because of it's proximity to the theater district. When we got there at 5PM it was not super busy. Tables are old and worn and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept all day. Expectations were low, but you know what? Food was FANTASTIC . We got the Beef Pepper Steak which had a nice little spice to it. It was the star of the meal. Also ordered the breaded green beans, again outstanding. PF Changs invented the lettuce wraps with chicken so we had to get that and it did not dissapoint. Rice was also a big hit at our table. Drink service could have been better but no complaints.“

“Very very delicious and comforting. Real deal. Considered dropping a star for slow service but in retrospect I think Head of the Charles this weekend just made everything a little more slow.
Lanzhou beef noodle soup was SO yummy words can’t even describe how the broth made me feel tbh. Lamb skewers were fatty and juicy and bursting with flavor. Mala tofu with preserved egg and rice was a great contrast to the other dishes — light and refreshing (also I love preserved egg with my whole heart). And the osmanthus flavor iced jelly? Slurp.
Picture included of plates made CLEAN.“

“Wanted to try their lunch specials. The portions were very large and reasonably priced. You get only white rice and soup with your Entree. Portions are big enough to share. Big choice of classic Chinese food. You would need to order appetizers extra if you want it. Fried rice is on the dinner menu, but lunch is only white rice. Dinner portions are large enough to share. Next time we will order one dinner entree, one order fried rice or lo-mein, and one appetizer about the same price as 2 lunches.“

“Highly recommend for hand pulled noodles(the name is a pretty hard giveaway). The bouncy texture and flavorful soup options are what you’ll want on a cold rain day or after a good workout. I would order the vegetable dumplings and vegetable mala pot or just pot, if spicy food is not for you (for any vegetarians and everyone) to try.“

“I often Travel to China and very picky with Chinese food. Hippo kitchen is the best Chinese restaurant I tried in MA. Authentic. My fav dish is “husband and wife lung slices. 夫妻肺片 (fūqī fèi piàn), often translated as “Husband and Wife Sliced Meat” — a famous Sichuan cold appetizer. Despite the literal translation meaning “husband and wife lung slices,” it typically doesn’t include lung. Here’s a quick overview:
What It Is:
A spicy, numbing, and flavorful cold dish made with thinly sliced beef, often including:
• Beef tongue, tripe, and sometimes heart
• Tossed in a bold Sichuan-style chili oil sauce with garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, crushed peanuts, cilantro, and Sichuan peppercorns“
“Noodles are great. Wish they had the thicker version like lanfeast does, but otherwise superb flavor. More variety. And pretty good lamb skewers. Wish they had a better line up system. The popcorn chicken is eh. Highly recommended everything else.“

“Very homey, authentic food!
The house special tender beef is delicious! Great flavor and texture, and not too spicy. I also liked the woodear mushroom salad, and appreciated that it was more savory than sour.
The fish fillet with shrimp, tofu, and vegetables dish wasn't what I expected (I thought it would be braised, but it's a clear sauce) but it was very comforting and filling. The steamed eggs with clam and fish were good -- the egg was very soft -- but didn't have a lot of flavor on its own. The baby bok choy was nice and fresh.
Overall I liked the meat better than the seafood here, so I would probably try more meat dishes next time!“

“Authenticity is the name of the game. Having brought two of my friends here for an afternoon lunch, they were stunned by how good the clay pot rice was! For them, it was a new dish. For me, it was nostalgia. The aromas from the pot were addicting, the crispy rice at the bottom and edges were great, and the rice itself was seasoned very well. Although they ordered small sizes, I’d recommend getting a medium if you’re a big eater (but they say it’s for two servings).
Service is as expected: straightforward and quick, yet still slow enough to ask for dietary restrictions or specific changes to a given dish (e.g. I asked for no cilantro). If you know Cantonese, Mandarin, Taishanese, or one of a couple other dialects, it’ll help you for sure. Otherwise, don’t worry too much about it if you feel pressured to order fast.
The lunch atmosphere was very hustle and bustle; I can only imagine what it’d be like by dinner time. Besides that, seating is limited and the room is quite tight so you might be asked to share a table if you have an odd number of people.
Lastly, is the food-to-dollar ratio worth it? Kinda. If you’re not a big eater and don’t eat this often, then yes. If you are and do, then no. But if you want a taste of home *and* to share that experience with your friends, this is a prime place to visit.“

“Salty Lemon Honey Drink (咸柠蜜): Tried it for the first time—super refreshing and thirst-quenching! Perfect for summer.
Beef Brisket Wonton Noodles (牛腩云吞面): The beef brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful. The noodles were smooth and springy, and the broth was rich and savory. The wonton skins were slightly overcooked, but overall, it was excellent.
Beef Chow Chow Mein (牛肉炒车仔面): The biggest surprise of the meal! Full of wok hei (aroma of the wok), packed with veggies, and before I knew it, I’d eaten a ton of veggies. A perfect balance of healthy and delicious.
Rice Noodle Roll (肠粉): Absolutely lives up to the hype! I’ve had many rice noodle rolls before, but this was the first time I truly understood how amazing they can be—thin, silky, and delicious.
Clay Pot Rice (煲仔饭): Also outstanding! The rice was fragrant and slightly crispy at the bottom, and the toppings were generous. It was so good I forgot to take a picture!“

“I think their chicken wings really taste like McDonald’s spicy chicken wings in China! ! ! ! There is nothing like Korean fried chicken in Boston, but every time you want to eat domestic taste, this is the fried chicken! And that chicken fillet roll really tastes like the old Beijing chicken roll “

“This place is AMAZING. Do NOT skip. Quick delivery and absolutely ORGASMIC food. “We order the fresh hand-pulled noodles all the time here – it’s probably our favorite takeout in the neighborhood. Always absolutely delicious – I particularly like the ones with fermented spicy chili paste. They have cleaned up the restaurant a bit since the dark days of Covid, so it’s actually pleasant to eat in. But there’s nothing like leftover noodles in the fridge for a delicious snack…“

“I really enjoyed the food here. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and felt thoughtfully prepared. The balance in the dishes was just right, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The service was also great. Everyone on the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
We did get asked to switch tables shortly after sitting down, which could have been a little frustrating, but they handled it so well. They offered a warm and sincere apology, and the way they approached it actually made us feel good about moving. It felt like they really cared about our experience.
The only downside was that the food took a while to come out. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s worth noting if you’re on a tight schedule. Thankfully, the quality of the food made the wait feel worth it.
All in all, this place left a great impression on me. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to friends.“

“Asia Wok is a local favorite and has been for decades. Before that the current owner worked for Tom, in his beautiful restaurant on Brighton Avenue. It has the old style Cantonese American food that I grew up with and still love. Food is delicious and the restaurant has the best value for the money of any eatery in Allston. The owner does his own delivery and the chefs are the real deal. If you miss that kind of delicious Chinese food this is definitely the place to order from.“

“Came in on a Sunday evening when every other hot pot spot in Allston had lines out the door. This was the only place where we could sit right away. Based on the name, I assumed it was strictly a hot pot joint, but the menu was much broader. Standard QR code ordering system, food came out fast.
Most of my friends recommended the dry pots, so we went with pork and beef versions, plus a regular pork hot pot for comparison. All pots come with six toppings by default (vegetables and noodles), with proteins as add-ons. Even with extras, each pot was under $25, and the portions were huge. The regular hot pot was fine, but the dry pots had way more flavor and heat. Since I don’t have dry pots often, it’s difficult to say whether this was top tier, but most of the toppings were good quality.
We also tried the stir-fried string beans and chili wontons, both solid. But knowing how big the pots were, we probably could’ve skipped the sides.
Overall not as flashy as the big-name hot pot spots nearby, but way easier to get into and much cheaper. Might come back for the dry pots.“

“This restaurant is a no frills, fast food, take out restaurant. The neighborhood is Very Sketchy. If you know Dudley Station you will understand.
The benefits of this place is that for $10.50 a plate, you get 4 ( or 5?) selections. And they are generous with their portions.
Parking: The area is very busy with foot traffic. Finding parking is difficult. Try parking your car somewhere safe and walk over to the restaurant.“
