“This place is so fun if you love a variety of Asian foods, and this evening I happened to walk in on a fantastic live jazz band playing by the bar. Last time, we had Korean tacos and tempura, this time I’m having croffles, miso soup, and spaghetti. (I know it’s weird but it’s all so delicious)“

“Staff is very nice and listen to your order which is great. And my coffee is never messed up however reason for a 4 is their drive through. It's very hard to drive in and as you'll notice from the curve alot of cars bit it and the side going out.

“I love the atmosphere of this place. When you enter La Cosecha, you’re welcomed by a variety of restaurants and small local businesses — it feels vibrant and creative.
But I’m focusing on Café Unido, because this coffee comes from my home country, Panama. So every time I’m in Washington, I have to stop by.

The space is filled with beautiful natural light coming through the large windows facing the street — perfect for enjoying a slow moment with a cup of coffee. The aroma and flavor are exactly what I expect from good Panamanian coffee: rich, smooth, and full of character.

I believe they could take even more advantage of how special it is to have a Panamanian coffee franchise in Washington — it deserves to be highlighted and promoted more. I truly hope they open more locations around the city so more people can experience it.

“My experience at maman’s was very amazing. I had the papas breakfast bowl after getting some recommendations from the worker Kevin. He was very respectful and Helpful and made my experience memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back — and hoping Kevin’s there next time.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

The staff were friendly & kept the line moving quickly. As others have said, only a few tables inside & out, but I was looking for something to go anyway, so this was perfect. Thank you to the manager on duty for taking the time to explain the reasons why the business is cashless. It's unfortunate the marginalization of several populations by this choice, but it was an eye-opening conversation to understand the growing options for the unbanked & international visitors/students & disabled, etc to use for cash transactions.

Although there are several bean options, the light roast Mexico was not a light roast at all. Like another reviewer commented, it is more a full-bodied, darker medium. Not my jam, but would recommend to others who enjoy quality darker roasts.

Espresso was well served, not burnt.

* Quiet on a weekday afternoon.
* Lighting is more pleasant than bright, blue, hormone-disrupting light.
* Music was weird 80s/90s rock music, not fitting for a coffee shop, but at least not loud. Grateful it's not like the coffeeshops that seem to be wannabe dance clubs w the blasting music.
* Seating area is top-notch. Great spot for meetups, indoor & outdoor, and laptop sitting.“

“Lovely coffee shop but $5.20 for a croissant?? Seriously? The coffee is great, the service is lovely and the atmosphere is friendly. I found the palce to be a bit expensive but it's probably average by DC standards and the place was quite busy, so kudos to them on that.“

“Rue has been my go-to cafe for the last year or so, so I decided it’s way overdue for me to give them a review. I literally love everything about Rue - the coffee is delicious and I love all their seasonal drinks (though it’s always so hard to decide between getting the seasonal and my go-to lavender latte), the food is fireeee (get the avo turkey with spicy mayo! it’s so good 😭 oh and the parmesan/leek pastry is stupid good, as are like all their pastries), and all the staff are just beyond kind and wonderful. The space is also super cute and cozy. Absolutely my favorite cafe in the neighborhood and will be my go-to always.“

“This is absolutely one of my favorite places to go! The Roost was my go to during the pandemic with tons of outdoor seating. Since it was in my neighborhood we frequented a lot. The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! We’ve moved from the area but always stop by when in town because it feels like home!“

“I got the ube tea and it was good tasting. However, I don't think I'll go back unless a friend really wants bubble tea.

First, I paid for the cheese foam and did not receive it. When I pointed it out, the staff fixed it. Secondly, when I walked outside, I realized I was given a small when the picture was a large. Either this is false advertising or the person screwed up my drink a second time. It is too expensive for a small drink and my friend got a large so I'm not sure why there was a discrepency

I also observed a partially made drink being dropped on the ground and then being put back on the counter to continue filling. That is unsanitary. Also, there's limited seating for customers. The two staff put their stuff on two tables so paying customers couldn't sit there.

Overall, the tea was good but the staff needs better training.“

“Today I stopped by this place and bought some breakfast. It was delicious and fresh. Even though it was a big breakfast, it didn't take long to arrive at my table. But what I'm doing here is to congratulate the lady who served a deaf-mute person. I could see how she took his order with such patience. Thank you for seeing that, it made my heart happy“

“Great ambience and good food. I would go back. My only complaint would be about the service, which was a bit strange. A couple staff members (including our server) kept trying to take our food, utensils, napkins, etc. as soon as they sensed we were slowing down. In spite of the fact that we told them several times that we wanted to continue nibbling on the bowl of fruit and fries that we were sharing, they kept trying to take them and eventually did just take them without asking even though we were still eating them. It seemed like they wanted to rush us out, except that our server never came back after that. We probably would have ordered another drink or even dessert if they had asked (they didn't) and eventually I had to flag someone down to ask for our bill almost an hour after they had taken our plates away.“

“Great cold brew! We saw this coffee shop in a few locations around town during our visit, and were excited to stop by and try it. The cold brew was delicious - I definitely recommend having one if you like iced coffees. The hot drip coffee was also great! The decor is cute, and there’s plenty of seating. My only constructive critique is that the team members working didn’t greet us when we walked in - they just looked at us…which was really awkward. When we engaged them by asking questions and ordering, they were nice, so that was a good thing. Coffee and ambiance were great, so I’d visit again next time I’m in DC. I recommend!“

“I really enjoyed my visit to Qargo Coffee Lafayette. The space feels modern, cozy, and perfect for working or just relaxing with a drink. The baristas were super friendly and made my latte just right. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but I think the atmosphere and quality make it worth it. “San Matteo is such a neighborhood gem, with consistently stellar food and service. I always order one of the house-made pastas and end with the tiramisu and chocolate lava cake. The servers are warm and attentive-- shout out to Carolina who was so friendly and extremely accommodating of our picky eater's needs!“
