“5 stars! Every time I go in, Jamiya at Starbucks delivers an amazing experience. My first order was so good I had to come back in and even order food because everything was that well made. My drinks are always crafted in great proportion and taste perfect every time. She pays close attention to detail and makes sure everything is right. On top of that, she always has such a positive and welcoming attitude, which makes the experience even better. If I could have my drinks made by her every time, I absolutely would!“

TikTok search sent me to Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville and it did not disappoint. The coffee was so good I literally had to order a second one. 🤭 The service was very welcoming, the kind of place you’re glad you stumbled across.

“One of the best coffee shops in DC and definitely a favorite of mine. I find myself coming back all the time. The orange raspadura latte is a must, and they have the best carajillos in the Union Market area. The customer service is always great, too.

They also have a really reasonably priced happy hour, especially for DC. Great coffee, great drinks, and consistently a good experience. I haven’t tried any food yet but can vouch for the drinks. Highly recommend!“

“I had the pleasure of having my first coffee of the day at this wonderful establishment. I was greeted with a warm smile by Besu and Kar and I asked them for some recommendations for top-notch Ethiopian coffee. I had a phenomenal cinnamon nutmeg cold brew and I enjoyed it while sitting out in the front patio. I highly recommend Warka Coffee shop. It was also not overpriced like other places which will remain unnamed :-) when you are on or near New Jersey Avenue in Washington DC make sure to stop off here and enjoy!“

“This is absolutely one of my favorite places to go! The Roost was my go to during the pandemic with tons of outdoor seating. Since it was in my neighborhood we frequented a lot. The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! We’ve moved from the area but always stop by when in town because it feels like home!“

I visited CIVIC. on Eighth with my aunt for drinks before dinner to celebrate her birthday, and we had such a wonderful experience! 🥂💕

From the beautiful atmosphere to the positive energy, this place is truly a vibe. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Rhonda, who was so personable, welcoming, and absolutely amazing. Her energy was infectious, and she made us feel right at home. You can genuinely feel the love and intention behind the space, and she definitely encouraged us to make a return visit — which we absolutely will!

Our bartender, Amanda, was equally wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, and had such a great attitude throughout our visit.

I especially love seeing a space that celebrates culture, community, women, and Black excellence while creating an environment where everyone can come together, enjoy themselves, and feel welcomed.

CIVIC. is giving good energy, beautiful vibes, great people, and a space worth experiencing. 💫

Even with the high ceilings the space was not excessively loud where I was sitting, and there are both cubbies for focused work and larger tables and larger parties.“

“What a welcoming little Ethiopian coffee shop! Once a market, Dire Coffee opened in 2020. Family-owned, Dire Coffee serves Ethiopian coffee beans in all different ways- black coffee, lattes, and more. I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It came out hot and strong. The woman behind the register, who's the wife of the owner, asked how sweet I wanted my latte. She was very kind!

To eat, they have a variety of food. I ordered one sambusa and it was filled with lentils. It hit the spot!

“This is a great cafe! It is very affordable and the fare is really good-- simple ingredients, very thoughtfully combined. For example, you can get an avocado toast for $6.50 that tastes very homely, fresh and natural. Similarly, the chicken pesto bagel is great. The bread is always toasted to a perfect extent. The waitstaff is also very nice, Diego in particular. There is also a high bar with 8 seats facing the window which is wonderful to work at because you get a lot of natural light and a view of the street-- at least one of these seats is usually available for working.“

“Artsy cafe, modern but warm. I enjoyed the blueberry earl grey scone even though I normally despise blueberry baked anything - the blueberries were juicy and a little tart, and the scone itself wasn’t too sweet and had a lovely buttery crust. Coffee is pretty solid as well, pleasant roast with berry notes.“

“I was in a training near the 15th Street location of Zeke’s. Found it the first morning and went back every day. Shared my experience with others and we all loved it. A local was amazed at her coffee and will be a regular now. The employees were so kind and remembered my order every single day. Best dirty chai I’ve ever had! Quality coffee. Friendly employees. Illy Cafe DMV absolutely lives up to it's name thanks to the beautiful, stylish ambiance and the superb service demonstrated by Carla, Brian and the pleasant manager-fellow in the white shirt.

The overall cafe design is straight out of an Italian romcom. A variety of uniquely gorgeous and colorful demitasse saucer combos are sprinkled about the crisp fancy darkly-tiled interior, with the classic Illy-red logos and umbrella-shaded cafe tables perfected staged throughout both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. The scene exudes the understated class and charm that one would expect from a European street cafe. I've been drinking and ordering Illy espresso online for years now, and my first in-person experience exceeded my expectations.

Special thanks to the baristas, Carla and Brian! They were surprisingly not pretentious - as one may have expected from a stylish coffee shop such as this. They were professional, knowledgeable and helpful, as well as equally friendly, charming and fun! They set a wonderful, happy tone for the entire rest of my day!

Next time you visit the National Harbor, stop here first – for both the affordable, high-quality espresso and the friendly, mood-boosting social interaction.

Carla and Brian deserve further praise. Carla's barista art was phenomenal! And Brian makes the absolute best chai tea lattes! Both went above and beyond expected baseline quality customer service interaction. They worked together as a team, demonstrated great work ethic and people skills, all while smiling, joking and having fun!

The man I presumed to be a manager, due to his attire and general presence, seemed equally friendly and nice. A kind and friendly manager speaks volumes about an establishment. Thank you for treating your employees so well! The world needs more of this!

“Sometimes I’m a bit dubious about fusion restaurants, that they can come up with an creative idea but not land the execution. But Any Day Now is the real deal - everything they do feels perfectly crafted, it sounds interesting & tastes even better. Vibes are immaculate, food is somehow better. Easily somehow both the coffee shop I’d go to for work and the restaurant I’d take a date. Not easy to be both but they figured it out. Highly recommend!“
