“Absolutely amazing customer service and quality of food. They are accommodating for dietary restrictions and were very helpful talking to me about gluten free options. They offer GF toast and are accommodating to warm it up separately from other bread and wearing gloves to avoid cross contamination. 10/10 experience hereDietary restrictions: Gluten free bread available“

“If I could choose my last meal ever—and it had to be at a DC restaurant for the purpose of this hypothetical—it would be at Keren. Best Ethiopian/Eritrean food in NW DC. And a better value than the competing establishments up the street (I’ve spent years conducting a detailed cost/taste/portion analysis)… order the Keren special w chicken— it’s easily enough food for two hungry people!“

“Due to the rave reviews, my husband and I stopped to check out this place before getting back to our state. I'm not a coffee drinker, but am learning about coffee and most, I do not like. It is true! Our café lattes are delicious and very smooth! This is one of only two coffee shops where I would return.“
“I got the Callebaut Chocolate and Champurrado scoops from Mount Desert Island Ice Cream in D.C. Very rich and creamy. Yesterday was National Chocolate Day! And my family got Tres Leches, Sweet Cream, Callebaut Chocolate, Sea Salt Caramel, Four Oranges, and Strawberry. It's a good thing this ice cream shop isn't too close to me, or I would be in serious trouble! Highly recommend.“

“Vigilante is a wonderful place to go for your coffee needs. The staff is super attentive and I appreciate the robust menu. I had their G.O.A.T. Bagel (Goat Cheese, Old Bay, Avocado, Tomato), and was in awe! I also enjoyed a drip coffee and cappuccino.Their service is kind and fast, and there is ample cafe seating. If you’re planning on doing work, make sure your devices are charged as outlet seating can be limited. Wifi is not the fastest at times, especially when it gets busy. However, it still gets the work done and is not a huge problem.“

“I really love hanging out here and the staff are all super friendly. Snacks and some of the food are solid, but unfortunately I just don’t care for any of their espresso drinks - cappuccino, latte, plain espresso… could just be me, but I’ve given them about a dozen tries and I just can’t make it through one. I’ll keep coming back because the place is great, but I’ll sadly have to pass on coffee.“

“Lot 38 Espresso Bar is a great choice for coffee in Navy Yard. The Mom & Pop shop is a very welcoming and even has areas upstairs to hang out, drink coffee, and/or work. The price for a large (20oz) latte or cappuccino is better than the smallest, cheapest drinks at other coffee shops. The Cappuccino Viennese showcased the high quality of the espresso. I cannot recommend this place enough over chains like Starbucks, Dunkin’, Compass, Gregory’s, etc.Dietary restrictions: They offer milk alternatives like oat, almond, and soy milks.“
“The cats? Adorable. I have two kitties so was not looking to adopt. But the cats here looked healthy and happy. They have lots of toys and places to rest. The cafe? Light menu of sandwiches and salads. I had The Ragdoll sandwich. Asked for the bacon pepper jam on the side just in case it was too spicy. It wasn't. Ate the whole thing.“

“made the mistake of stopping by at 4pm, right as the school crowd was getting busy so there were abt 15 people in this tiny shop! Nevertheless, the staff was so nice and efficient! I got the pistachio ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and it was so yummy! Love that the sprinkles are complimentary!“

“I brought my family here after a quick galavant around the American History Museum. The coffee shop was a bit further away than we thought it was and it was pretty windy and cold outside, so when we arrived at DUA DC cold, we were weary and ready to sit down for a little bit.On stepping inside the door we were immediately met with a line that was almost out the door. Turns out it wasn't actually that much of a line it was really just the result of more than three people standing in front of the counter. The shop is pretty narrow and there's not a lot of room near the front so things get congested pretty quickly, especially at busier times. In any case, we were able to place our order pretty quickly and went hunting for some seats. Unfortunately there really wasn't much available. We came at a pretty busy time and there were only about 5-6 tables inside which were all filled. It was about that time that my 6-month-old decided that she was hungry and would cry unceasingly until she had eaten. The problem was that there was literally nowhere for us to go – we just kind of wandered around with a crying infant trying to figure out what to do. Finally, I went up to the counter and asked the staff if they had any place where my wife could feed that wasn't the bathroom. Our entire experience changed from this point forward...Immediately one of the workers got her manager and asked if my wife could use the breakroom to which she unhesitatingly said yes and personally led her back and got her comfortable. About that time a table opened up and our drinks were ready. Seeing I was short-handed, the staff up front even offered to help me carry some of the drinks back to our table. It was a small thing but literally changed everything about the experience for us.The coffee itself was good. DUA has their own speciality roasts and do pour-overs on the weekends, which is a pretty rare thing for most coffee shops because it takes so much time. My wife ordered a vanilla latte and enjoyed that as well.Overall, we'd definitely go back here in the future. DUA really isn't a great place to sit and do work or hang out for an extended period of time, but it is a good cup of coffee and worth the trip.“

“TLDR: Tasty coffee that did not disappoint. Variety of options and plenty of space. Definitely recommend.First Impression: Not great. But it was turned around quickly. The first thing I saw was a Starbucks like menu of seasonal drinks. That’s typically a bad sign for me. It says “we cater to people who don’t care about tasting the qualities in the coffee itself. But I stuck it out.About the coffee I had: I ordered a cappuccino for here. It came in a 8/10 oz cup and had a pleasent amount of foam, but not too much. It was a great texture. The espresso tasted great and the milk was expertly foamed.About the vibe: Plenty of space to hang out if that’s your goal. I sat at a high table with high stools, but there were plenty of standard square tables and some smaller wall seatings and bars at the window and the back overlooking where I assume they roast their coffee.About the staff: The staff was amazingly friendly and as I watched the barista make drinks, she seemed to know what she was doing. I watched her make seasonal drinks and cortados and cappuccini without missing a step. they also seemed to have good rapport with their regulars. It was a great little visit.“

“I’ve been to their 14th street location so I knew what I was going into. I always love wydown and their coffee. I’m a fan of their specialty drinks too which are always great. This time I just went with their iced vanilla latte and a cherry almond scone. The scone was so delicious, and I loved my latte as well. Since we said we’d eat there they put our drinks in actual dish-ware. There is some seating available in store, but this location is also connected to an apartment which has some seating in their lobby. We de iced to grab a table in the apartment lobby because it was decorated beautifully with all the plants. It was a great vibe and the perfect place to do some work or just catch up with friends!“

“Dolcezza: Beyond Gelato Brilliance, a Coffee DreamTucked away near the luxury allure of 9th and H streets, Dolcezza isn't just a haven for gelato fanatics. It's a coffee connoisseur's hidden gem, a place where meticulous precision meets delicious indulgence.Right from the start, the aroma beckons you in, promising more than just your average caffeine fix. Forget the robotic routine of chain baristas. Here, coffee alchemy is an art form, practiced by skilled professionals who wield steamed milk like paint, crafting latte masterpieces that wouldn't look out of place in a museum. My large latte was a testament to this artistry. The foam, smooth as silk, held a delicate latte art design, a fleeting beauty that added another layer of enjoyment to the sip. But the taste - ah, the taste! Perfectly balanced, rich yet nuanced, it was a symphony of espresso and steamed milk, singing on my tongue long after the last drop. And if, like me, you fall under the spell of this liquid magic, you're not left wanting. Unlike so many shops, Dolcezza sells its coffee beans, inviting you to recreate the experience at home. It's like taking a piece of their passion back with you, a gift that keeps on caffeinating. While the seating area is decent, Dolcezza feels most at home as a grab-and-go delight. But with ample parking nearby, it's easy to linger over your latte, basking in the aroma and admiring the artistry surrounding you.So, the next time you crave a coffee that surpasses the ordinary, seek out Dolcezza. It's a hidden gem nestled amidst the glitz, a place where coffee takes center stage, its brilliance rivaled only by the gelato that shares its name.“

“Just popped into the new Little Food Studio & Alameda space and it is lovely!!! I ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice/caramel latte and the cacio y Pepe breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious! Kind and not super fast service, but clearly lots of love and care put into making both the drinks and food so I didn’t mind a little wait. It was fairly busy too, plenty of seating indoors and out. Love the new space, congrats on the upgrade LFS!!“

“Doubles is my favorite coffee shop in DC. I think coffee here is great -- it's not over-roasted & bitter as coffee sold in some places (excessively roasted coffee indicates bad quality coffee, which commonly leads to stomach problems!). I've been greeted by my name and I'll likely add it to my dissertation acknowledgements. Try their cortado!“

“My family was visiting the area from NJ and we had the most delicious breakfast at this cafe. First, the vibe / music and staff are exactly what we needed for a Sunday morning. The staff were soft spoken and friendly. The biscuit and egg were cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. The coffee was made by an expert barista who truly understands the nuances of coffee art… the beans were roasted well and the flavor/ freshness was amazing. We purchased a gluten free pop tart to eat on the ride home and wish we had bought 5… WOW it was amazing. I purchased an onion and feta focaccia to take home and haven’t been able to stop eating it. My only criticism is with the cupcake - I found it a bit dry and dense, and the cookie was “chewy” where I wish it were soft and fluffy/ Melting with chocolate. I would highly recommend A Baked Joint to everyone and it will be at the top of my “must go back” places in DC. Keep up the great work!“

“After sampling half of their menu over the last year, I can finally say that Spot of Tea has officially solidified its spot as my go-to boba spot in DC. This humble little stall tucked in the back of Union Market has it all -- a delicious and perfectly crafted menu, friendly and efficient service, and simple yet adorable decor that creates a calming space in the middle of Union Market's bustle. They have a great selection of teas that includes both classic favorites like Thai tea or your basic milk tea, but also a smattering of exciting new flavors / seasonal specials like mango hibiscus or calamansi ginger. If you're anything like me and struggle to make even the most basic of decisions, their menu also features decision guides, listing out caffeine levels, flavor profiles, and a one-line "why you should pick this drink" for quickly comparing between different options.Regardless of which drink you choose, Spot of Tea is sure to satisfy any craving, whether it's for something rich and milky, fruity and refreshing, or just straight-up caffeine. It'll also include some of DC's best boba pearls, with the perfect chewy, QQ texture (or lychee jelly if you'd prefer). I also love that they default to using oat milk for all their drinks at no extra charge, although you can request a switch to dairy milk if you'd prefer. While it's hard to pick a favorite from their phenomenal menu, a few stand-outs are:- Mango Hibiscus (great for cooling down on a hot summer day)- Mango Yuzu Black Tea (great for cooling down on a hot summer day...but also with caffeine)- Hot Black Sesame Latte (who needs hot chocolate when you can have a rich, piping hot cup of black sesame latte / milk?)In addition to their teas, they also create a delicious oat milk soft serve. You can either get matcha, black sesame, or a swirl of the two flavors -- my personal preference is always the swirl, but both flavors are great on their own as well. You would never guess its dairy-free from how rich and creamy it is, and their ice cream is the perfect level of sweetness, with the slightly bitter matcha and nutty sesame seeds breaking through the sugar. All in all, I truly can't recommend Spot of Tea enough -- absolutely swing by to give their teas and soft serve a shot!“

“Fantastic coffee. I got a medium cold brew and it's up there with the best quality coffee that I've had, not only in DC but anywhere. Strong, flavorful, yet also smooth. “Had a great time for a Sunday noon! Best things we tried was the Ferroro Rocher Eclair (you can’t tell the difference from the chocolate, very good and hazelnut flavor is evident)! Chocolate raspberry and Black Forest cake was also very delectable and fresh. Only disappointment was the chocolate soufflé, it was very dry and hard. I’m not sure if it is supposed to be reheated and then eaten but we ate it at the cafe and it was difficult to finish. Wouldn’t order again. Dutch hot chocolate was very rich and decadent tasting. Caramel latte was also very smooth :)“

“Title: A Presidential Treat - 5 Stars for Pitago Gelato!Review:I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the delectable delights at Pitago Gelato, conveniently located near the White House. It's no surprise that this charming ice cream store has become a favorite of none other than President Joe Bidem himself, and after my visit, I can wholeheartedly understand why. From the moment I stepped through the door, the inviting aroma of freshly made gelato greeted me. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, creating the perfect backdrop for a delightful ice cream experience. The staff at Pitago Gelato were not only friendly but also exceptionally knowledgeable about their extensive array of flavors.Speaking of flavors, Pitago Gelato boasts an impressive selection that caters to all taste buds. From classic favorites like creamy vanilla and rich chocolate to more adventurous options like salted caramel with pecans, there's something to satisfy every palate. I couldn't resist trying a scoop of President Biden's purported favorite – and it did not disappoint. The unique blend of flavors was a true testament to the craftsmanship of Pitago Gelato's culinary artisans. What truly sets this ice cream parlor apart is the commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients. Each spoonful felt like a burst of flavor, and the smooth, velvety texture of the gelato was absolutely divine. Whether you're a tourist exploring the nation's capital or a local resident, Pitago Gelato offers a sweet escape from the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C.The attention to detail at Pitago Gelato extends beyond the flavors; the presentation of each scoop is a work of art. The vibrant colors and enticing swirls are almost too beautiful to eat – almost. I found myself savoring every bite, appreciating the effort that goes into creating such an exceptional frozen treat. In conclusion, Pitago Gelato deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. It's not just an ice cream store; it's an experience. If it's good enough for President Joe Biden, it's certainly good enough for me. Whether you're a gelato connoisseur or just someone with a sweet tooth, make sure to pay a visit to Pitago Gelato near the White House – your taste buds will thank you!“

“Went to this place on 01/07/24 before the Cowboys/Commanders game. The ambiance and overall aesthetic of the place was great. The ordering is easy, all we needed to do was scan the QR code and add orders to the tab. Once you submit, a waitor/waitress will bring out your food. The cost of the place was costly especially with the little food we received. I don't believe Tostones should be $5 for 4 pieces. As a cost accountant, that is crazy. I received a Pernil sandwich and was alright. The pernil was seasoned well enough. Overall great vibe though.“
