“This place is so fun if you love a variety of Asian foods, and this evening I happened to walk in on a fantastic live jazz band playing by the bar. Last time, we had Korean tacos and tempura, this time I’m having croffles, miso soup, and spaghetti. (I know it’s weird but it’s all so delicious)“

“I love Dunkin Donuts coffee and many of their donuts still.. The egg, cheese croissant I've eaten for years now tastes over processed/artificial.This locations entrance and exit can be a bit confusing and risky... the traffic coming off Rt 5 makes it hard to exit plus they share a lot with the Social Security Building which has traffic coming in at the same place the exit for the drive through is ( both situations are potential for accidents if you're not very alert)“

“Great place. Wish they would open a 2nd place at Liberty Exchange in Sykesville - 2 units still open for a nice coffee place (that isn’t Starbucks!) one is right next to Basta Pasta!!“

“Cute place right in the heart of DC! Tried the cheese and onion empanadas and they were so delicious. Pastries looked yummy, and my oat milk cappuccino was really good. Highly recommend for a quick coffee to-go or snack if you're in the area!“

“COFFEE: Cortado was a bit on the bitter side for me initially, but there was a sweet aftertaste later. Likely just the roast and not how it’s made.
Note: no beans on hand for purchase when I was there.
STAFF: nice, efficient. Busy outpost location so not much interaction.
FOOD: didn’t purchase.
DECOR: it’s like an outpost location, so really just a bit more than a kiosk. The location is inside the La Consecha ‘hub’ so there’s seating all over, different food stalls, an upper floor area w more comfortable seating that we didn’t go to.
Not their fault, it’s just the place where they put the outpost location doesn’t offer a lot for coffee house vibes (if that’s what you’re looking for).“

“Lot 38 Expresso Bar is a hidden gem in DC and my absolute favorite breakfast spot. I ate here almost daily for 3 years when I lived nearby, and now I make it a point to stop in whenever I'm in town.
Their vanilla latte is perfection - smooth and completely free of bitterness. The sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a soft, perfectly toasted bagel hits the spot every time with its ideal balance of ingredients.
What truly sets Lot 38 apart is the ownership. The proprietor is incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready with a friendly smile and witty conversation that can turn any bad day around.
Whether you need a quick breakfast on your way to work or a cozy spot for a meeting with friends or colleagues, Lot 38 delivers. It's versatile, delicious, and guaranteed to become your new favorite breakfast spot in DC.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“Love this seemingly secret spot! It's tucked away, but conveniently located right by the U St Metro station. I enjoy and look fwd to their unique seasonal flavors and the welcoming vibe as it's also the lobby of a hostel/hotel. Glad they are still going strong!“

“Came here twice so far, and plan to keep returning. Their coffee is delicious! Not burnt or bitter like a lot of other places, including at well-known chains. Their syrups are tasty and they don’t make the drinks overly sweet. The baristas are always kind and welcoming. It’s a great place to stop after visiting Rock Creek Park, or to study/work on your laptop. Even on weekends, there are always seats. They have outdoor seating too.“

“This is my all-time favorite neighborhood cafe. The owners remember everyone who comes in and greet them warmly. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and cozy, the food options are perfect for breakfast and lunch, and the food itself is made fresh and tastes delicious. I love having this place in my neighborhood!“

“Great first trip to Soleluna this morning! My flat white wasn’t as hot as I would like and VERY small. Biggest complaint. The pastry was good, I got a cheese danish. The filling was delicious, though I do wish there was an offer to warm. I’d go back.“

“First off, plant people are the best people.
Second, that lox sandwich may have nee one of the best I've ever had.
Third, for getting slammed with low staff, they were champs.

“Pub like atmosphere with an eclectic menu. Service was pretty good, and certainly helpful and friendly. The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. Has an outside area, heated, where you enjoy the official bird song of Washington DC - the police siren.“

“No menus. No options for menus. No list of places. No signs saying what anyone offers (except for Linda's). Switching between eateries in a drop down is a hassle. Have not tried to food, but would not recommend solely on ordering experience. I wouldn't have had my phone out to write this review if there was any option other than QR menus“

“I was in a training near the 15th Street location of Zeke’s. Found it the first morning and went back every day. Shared my experience with others and we all loved it. A local was amazed at her coffee and will be a regular now. The employees were so kind and remembered my order every single day. Best dirty chai I’ve ever had! Quality coffee. Friendly employees. Great prices.“

“The best coffee experience I have had in DC. The only recommendation I would give would be to offer a sugar free sweetener like Splenda or similar that doesn’t have an aftertaste. I understand why these places only offer Stevia, but what it means is that if I want my coffee sweet I also have to change the flavor of the coffee. And I feel like the coffee here is too good to screw it up with an aftertaste.“

“I love the vibe at Tatte Bakery—it's a great spot to work or hang out with friends. The atmosphere is great, and it’s just a nice place to be. But, honestly, the wait times are kind of frustrating. I ordered drinks online, and it still took over 20 minutes, which feels like forever when you're just waiting for coffee. Still, I'll keep coming back because the space is awesome.“

“I LOVE ME SOME ICE CREAM. Geez.
This ice cream was so bomb! I ordered the small, 2 scoops of berries mascarpone and coffee & cookies. I also bought a push pop.
My ice cream choices were really good. The push pop was good, but it didn’t taste roasted. It also tasted old.“

“It's a small coffee shop and Roastery. The coffee is excellent, and it is worth stopping by just for that. They have a limited set of pastries and a small seating area, mostly indoors, if you would like to stop and enjoy. Play also sell a number of Beverages and different small items, but they are not a full grocery.
Parking: It's on a short block on Georgia avenue, it makes sense to park on one of the side streets.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a small step entering the shop, as well as a fairly tight entryway to the counter. Might be difficult for a wheelchair.“

“I absolutely adore this coffee shop! It's pricey, about a dollar more than another competitor (which is already expensive mind you), but I don't mind because I think this particular coffee shop has the best coffee out of all of the places I've been both domestic and abroad. So why did I take a star off if they're so good?Simply put I never know if this place is going to be open or not! Nestled just a hop skip and a jump from the White House, I forgo Peet's, Starbucks, and all the other usuals, only to find a note posted on the door that they're not open! Now, mind you, I've already got a bone to pick with how early coffee shops close in DC and the lack of good diners, but the fact that I keep running into a closed sign is frustrating. It already feels like they're behind the curve being open 7am-4pm, but dragging my feet so I get there after 7am only to find them closed is worse considering there aren't any other good options when I keep on my journey to my next destination. This coffee shop really truly is the best, I recommend it to everyone, but if you work early hours make sure you've got a backup plan!“

““Exceptional coffee that is worth a special journey.” The absolute best Italian-style coffee shop (+pour overs) in the city. The espresso-based drinks are on par with, if not better, than any I’ve had in Italy itself. My only personal tasting note is that the espresso roast they use is a little light for solo shots of espresso, at least for my palate, as it feels a little tart. I like a solo shot to be more of a rich, toasted kind of thing. But when mixed with hot water in the americano or a little touch of milk in the macchiato or the cortado, the result is sublime. The flavor profile of the espresso-based drinks is so dynamic. You have to try the macchiato or the cortado here. Also, the pour overs are fantastic and I find the descriptions of the pour over options, of which there are usually at least 5–ranging from lighter to darker—are spot on. If there were Michelin stars for coffee shops, I’d give this place 3: “Exceptional coffee that is worth a special journey.”“

“First visit, and the experience was mixed:
- Atmosphere: great, location is very convenient, suitable for working on a laptop, reading, small gatherings, etc.
- Food: very good
- Coffee: asked for it a certain way, but the barista who handled my request decided to not listen and make it the way they think it should be made, despite me notifying them twice.
There were two emplyees:
- A young man who was professional and warm in handling customer requests and responding to different incidents, which was very appreciated.
This is a five star review because of him.
- Another young person who needs more training on listening and delivering customer requests.
I tried to gently give them feedback on how they handled my order, but I was met with an “I don’t care about how you want your coffee, I follow the lines, take it or leave it” attitude, which was very cold even though they used polite words, low tone and gave a meaningless “have a good day” at the end.
Hopefully this will be better soon.“

“Today, my coworkers and I visited a coffee shop. I enjoyed a hot chocolate, ham and cheese croissant, and some pumpkin bread. The customer service was excellent. While making my drink, the worker ran out of whipped cream. She apologized and had to go to the back to get more. I waited for a while, but I appreciated that all the employees checked on me and made me a new hot chocolate since the previous one had gone cold. Thank you for the great service!“
