“Great place. Wish they would open a 2nd place at Liberty Exchange in Sykesville - 2 units still open for a nice coffee place (that isn’t Starbucks!) one is right next to Basta Pasta!!“

“Cute place right in the heart of DC! Tried the cheese and onion empanadas and they were so delicious. Pastries looked yummy, and my oat milk cappuccino was really good. Highly recommend for a quick coffee to-go or snack if you're in the area!“

“I recently discovered this cafe in Arlington and I love it! They made such a great use of the space; it's cozy and decorated so nicely. I LOVE the avocado toast and the coffee is to die for. I've spent a few mornings sipping an iced latte while reading a book outside and it was simply perfect. It was the first place I went to when I got back for spring break. My new favorite! Would highly recommend.“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in the metropolitan area. The quality of the product is excellent. The aroma is fabulous and rich. There’s always room for improvement, however. Once I ordered a latte that came out Luke warm which I did not appreciate but they remade the drink. Another time I was charged for alternative milk because they ran out of whole milk, which I didn’t think was nice. But other than that, the coffee is excellent, and the staff are nice, so I visit regularly.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“Lot 38 Expresso Bar is a hidden gem in DC and my absolute favorite breakfast spot. I ate here almost daily for 3 years when I lived nearby, and now I make it a point to stop in whenever I'm in town.
Their vanilla latte is perfection - smooth and completely free of bitterness. The sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a soft, perfectly toasted bagel hits the spot every time with its ideal balance of ingredients.
What truly sets Lot 38 apart is the ownership. The proprietor is incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready with a friendly smile and witty conversation that can turn any bad day around.
Whether you need a quick breakfast on your way to work or a cozy spot for a meeting with friends or colleagues, Lot 38 delivers. It's versatile, delicious, and guaranteed to become your new favorite breakfast spot in DC.“

“Incredible little café with an outstanding pastry selection and some of the best coffee available in DC! This hole-in-the-wall spot is located in the heart of Adams Morgan, where space is limited but the vibrancy and vibes are not. Soleluna adds to the cool, artsy energy of the neighborhood with their warm, friendly staff, unique assortment of pastries, and awesome Ecuadorian coffee. The coffee has genuinely never missed; I love the beans themselves, so I normally opt for an americano or a latte, but they also have a ton of homemade syrups that are just absolutely incredible. Whether you're a bitter or a sweet coffee drinker, Soleluna has you covered!
They also have a fun selection of pastries, including fruity, tropical options like their guava or passionfruit croissant, or their mango danish. If something savory is a bit more your speed, they also have a classic ham and cheese croissant, everything bagel danish, and outstanding leek quiche. I usually go for something classic, like their standard croissant or pain au chocolat, but everything -- from the basics to the specialty -- are perfectly executed, phenomenally flaky, and 100% delicious.
The shop is quite small, so, while there's a couple of small tables available outside, you're most likely going to have to take your order to go. There's barely enough space for the line to wrap around inside of the café, but I promise both the wait and the hassle of finding a new spot to enjoy your treats is completely worth it.“

“Fantastic cafe to work from. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, coffee is predictable, food and pastries are solid. I wish there were more outlets but I've never had an issue charging up for work. In the warmer months they have additional outdoor seating as well. Support this small business :)“

“This is my all-time favorite neighborhood cafe. The owners remember everyone who comes in and greet them warmly. “Love this seemingly secret spot! It's tucked away, but conveniently located right by the U St Metro station. I enjoy and look fwd to their unique seasonal flavors and the welcoming vibe as it's also the lobby of a hostel/hotel. Glad they are still going strong!“

“Came for a tasting as part of Tasting Collective and was glad I did. This was truly a great experience. The 5 course tasting had 2 courses (1st & 4th) that needed to be altered as I'm a pescetarian therefore, don't eat duck. So in place of the duck paté, I was served figs and brie and in place of the duck breast I was served branzino. Each course was nicely paired with wine, again adding to this wonderful experience.
The fig and brie with the croutons was delicious, followed by the roasted pear with gouda, pecans and pomegranate sprinkles which was a delightful tasty plate. Who would think white chocolate and cauliflower purée would be delicious and pair beautifully with seared scallops? Clearly Chef Moore did and how right was he. That purée had folks at our table scraping to get all of it. The next course was a substitute dish and was beyond disappointing, especially compared to the other 3 courses. The branzino was BLAND, but the olives that were on the side were extra salty. I thought I was supposed to eat them together, but that didn't help. I couldn't even eat this course. The final course was a butterscotch pudding, a great way to end the meal/night.
Chef Moore was very welcoming. He answered questions and took pictures with the guests.
I'll definitely add this to my list of restaurants.“

“I recently visited ESP Tea & Coffee in Old Town Alexandria for the first time, and it was an awesome experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the funky, cool vibe of the space—definitely a spot with personality. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, taking the time to help me choose the perfect drink. I ended up going with the “Sugar Daddy” latte, which was a deliciously sweet and satisfying choice. To go with it, I tried an oatmeal cream whoopie pie from Lil Miss Whoopie, and it was the perfect pairing—soft, creamy, and absolutely indulgent. Whether you’re a coffee or tea lover, ESP is a fantastic place to check out. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, making it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. If you’re in Old Town and looking for a unique, friendly café experience, definitely stop by ESP Tea & Coffee!“

“Pub like atmosphere with an eclectic menu. Service was pretty good, and certainly helpful and friendly. The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. Has an outside area, heated, where you enjoy the official bird song of Washington DC - the police siren.“

Dear Owner,
Could you please fix the Wi-Fi? I come here about twice a week and it’s been a few weeks now the internet is not working properly. That would be great if you could fix it. Everything else is perfect! Thanks!“

“No menus. No options for menus. No list of places. No signs saying what anyone offers (except for Linda's). Switching between eateries in a drop down is a hassle. Have not tried to food, but would not recommend solely on ordering experience. I wouldn't have had my phone out to write this review if there was any option other than QR menus“

“This place is wayyy too expensive for me to go here but my girlfriend looooves their ice cream more than she loves me, so I've been here a few times. I don't like flavored ice cream that much so I usually get plain (not vanilla!) when I get ice cream, but you shouldn't do that at this place. The flavors actually add to the ice cream instead of take away from it. The texture is good too, but that's true of a lot of places.
So I would say, yes, go here if you can afford it. And if you like ice cream.“

“This is the best coffee I have had in DC so far! Definitely my go to when I visit now. The customizable avocado toast and the pastries were also delicious! It gets a little crowded when busy, since it is a small walk through space between the tables though.“
“I was in a training near the 15th Street location of Zeke’s. Found it the first morning and went back every day. Shared my experience with others and we all loved it. A local was amazed at her coffee and will be a regular now. The employees were so kind and remembered my order every single day. Best dirty chai I’ve ever had! Quality coffee. Friendly employees. Great prices.“

“Came here for coffee and breakfast. I ordered bacon and eggs, wife ordered a croissant sandwich. Hers was better than mine. The small hash brown patties came soggy and almost undercooked. The eggs were fried nicely. The toast was supposed to be sourdough, but it was more like a thick cut of white bread and under toasted, probably because it's so thick. Bacon was nice. I had a cappuccino and it was acceptable, but not good enough to finish. This is a really clean, nice, professional coffee shop with a lot of working professionals stopping by. Good atmosphere and a solid go to spot.“

“Whenever I'm in DC in the morning hours, I always make sure to stop by swings for one of their seasonal special drinks. The lattes are always great, what I especially appreciate that the syrup doesn't sink to the bottom and blends well into the drink, which I find to be an issue at times. Highly recommend a visit.“

“Cute staff, amazing muffin, great coffee. You can also buy some items from the coffee shop, like mugs, T-shirts and all. It’s really adorable. I had the iced mocha with almond milk, with dark chocolate, it was delicious, so as the muffin. It had a lemon filling that was heavenly. Really soft dough and really warm. Are you watering already? Yeah… ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dietary restrictions: Lactose intolerant- they had non dairy milk ❤️“

““Exceptional coffee that is worth a special journey.” The absolute best Italian-style coffee shop (+pour overs) in the city. The espresso-based drinks are on par with, if not better, than any I’ve had in Italy itself. My only personal tasting note is that the espresso roast they use is a little light for solo shots of espresso, at least for my palate, as it feels a little tart. I like a solo shot to be more of a rich, toasted kind of thing. But when mixed with hot water in the americano or a little touch of milk in the macchiato or the cortado, the result is sublime. The flavor profile of the espresso-based drinks is so dynamic. You have to try the macchiato or the cortado here. Also, the pour overs are fantastic and I find the descriptions of the pour over options, of which there are usually at least 5–ranging from lighter to darker—are spot on. If there were Michelin stars for coffee shops, I’d give this place 3: “Exceptional coffee that is worth a special journey.”“

“Cute place to grab breakfast. I give it 4 stars, it’s just a hyped up breakfast spot. The bagels were okay and the service was very good. No space inside to eat so be prepared to eat it outside, we didn’t mind since it was beautiful out but check the weather prior to arriving. I would come back if I am close by but I wouldn’t take an uber 25 minutes for a bagel here.“

“La Colombe is next-level when it comes to coffee! Their brews are smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced — you can really taste the quality and craftsmanship in every cup. Whether it’s their signature draft lattes, cold brew, or a classic cappuccino, the flavors are always bold and satisfying.
The vibe at their cafes is laid-back and stylish, making it a perfect spot to unwind or get some work done. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about coffee.
If you’re a true coffee lover, La Colombe is a must-visit.“

“Overall lackluster experience. There are better French-style restaurants in DC. Cute place, great location, food was just ok. We've had better similar dishes elsewhere locally. Wait staff was attentive but seemed disinterested. Might try brunch one day. Not sure we'd return for dinner.“

“My two kids and I go here almost ever Sunday. The croissants are a huge hit with the kids and I'm obsessed with their Farro Salad (the dressing is very similar to mole sauce). Lattes are quite delicious as well.
Pricing is surprisingly reasonable for Georgetown which is a nice plus.
I really wish they would open a location at the Village Green in Crofton, MD. It would be a huge hit there and I have family that would like to see it there.
Some weekends it just gets too busy but I've only decided to give up once or twice. The host is honest about the wait (if there is one) - up to you if can handle the wait they give you.
Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu and offerings BUT we tend to just pick pastries from the counter. This is the better way to go because it is about all they can eat and there is always some decadent morsel for me to hoover up when they get full.“

“It's a small coffee shop and Roastery. The coffee is excellent, and it is worth stopping by just for that. They have a limited set of pastries and a small seating area, mostly indoors, if you would like to stop and enjoy. Play also sell a number of Beverages and different small items, but they are not a full grocery.
Parking: It's on a short block on Georgia avenue, it makes sense to park on one of the side streets.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a small step entering the shop, as well as a fairly tight entryway to the counter. Might be difficult for a wheelchair.“

“At twelve in the morning on Sunday. October 9, 2023. Drive-through. I placed the incorrect order. It was not the spicy chicken sandwich with bacon that I had ordered. The fries had burned. My sandwich had very few toppings and was quite cold. The money was just out of the register when it was opened. I can't bear to go back now. I wasted $21.85 and would advise against going here for late-night dinner.“
