“If you love Mexican seafood, ceviches, and margaritas, this place is for you. Mariscos Culiacán, right on University Blvd in Takoma Park, seriously delivers.
I had the Original Tajín Margarita (their spicy-style margarita), and it was amazing—perfectly balanced with a great kick. The Aguachiles were fresh, spicy, and full of flavor. But the star of the night was the Ceviche Especial—absolutely unbelievable. Super fresh seafood with bold, well-seasoned flavors.
What really sets this place apart is the combination of authentic Mexican mariscos and sushi. You can enjoy ceviches, tostadas, cocteles, and sushi rolls all in one visit, and everything works.
The space is big and lively with lots of screens, giving it a fun sports bar vibe. They also have happy hour from 4–7 PM plus daily specials, which makes it an easy win.

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“The sushi at Takumi Japanese Bistro & Bar was fresh and nicely prepared. The salmon nigiri had a clean flavor, and the spicy tuna roll had just enough heat without being buried in sauce. The chicken gyoza was another good choice, with crisp bottoms and a savory filling. I liked that the menu had more than just sushi, so there were plenty of options for the table. Service was pleasant, although things slowed down a little once the restaurant became busier. Overall, a satisfying Japanese meal in Bethesda.“

“Our visit to Zeppelin was absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the most exceptional hospitality by Ari and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, paying tribute to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships. But the real standout of our experience was the food. It was absolutely divine. We began our meal with the Edamame and Miso Soup, both of which were the perfect starters and set the stage for the rest of the meal. The Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Sunomono were also refreshing and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes from the KushiYaki (Japanese Charcoal Grill) menu. The Ebi Shumai and Beef Harumaki were both cooked to perfection, while the Takoyaki was a fun and tasty snack. “Stopped in for some delicious sushi and chicken katsu, we also ordered the calamari which was fried perfectly and had a nice crispy outside.

The chicken katsu is cooked perfectly, crunchy outside and tasty inside but not dry. The sushi is amazing, I had the spicy tuna which had a good kick to it and the daily special which was the Goldfish Roll today. GOLDFISH ROLL WAS AMAZING!! “We got two Salmon Lover sets and a Unagi roll to go and everything was really good. The salmon sashimi was fresh and the rolls were generously filled. The unagi was spot on too.

They threw in three complimentary pieces of sushi and two free miso soups with our takeout order, which was a really nice surprise. When I wasn’t sure what to get for drinks, they had great suggestions for sake and beer. Great experience overall, will definitely be back!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

It's a small space and we sat at the bar, but it makes up for mediocre atmosphere with great food and service. If they offered an IPA their score would be even higher. We will definitely be back. “I was craving sushi while in Washington DC. As I was staying nearby this place popped up on maps and to begin with, I would like to say that they are a very clean outlet, and the staff are very polite. You also get free miso soup on orders over $10.

I got 2 sushis -one was an Ebi maki and the Boston roll . While I would not say this was the best sushi I ever had, they definitely had a lot of other options. It’s a cozy outlet and very vibrant. Good for a quick munch.“

Their cocktails are great, and my personal favourite was the 8th street specialty sushi. The atmosphere and mood is calm and pleasant, and the staff and service is top notch. I have to mention our waitress too from the second time, Soko. She remembered us from the previous night, she even remembered which drink she had made me! And she took the time to make some recommendations for us, and brought us some miso on the house and was just the most pleasant and friendly waitress I have had in a while. Thank you!!! “No frills hole in a wall place. Great and welcoming staff. Great service. First time here and I got the spring garden roll and my friend and I split the green bamboo roll. One of the only places that I have been too that offers more than 1 type of veggie roll; plenty of veggie maki rolls. Rolls are large and they are generous with the filling and toppings. Got a bottled green tea. They do not serve alcohol. They accept credit card. I will absolutely be returning and telling everyone I know about this place. Next to Great shopping and there is plenty of parking!

One suggestion is to have a bottle of Sriracha on hand just to add a bit of spice to the veggie rolls.“
