“An interesting Asian/Japanese fusion restaurant. The food was creative and tasted pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the dungeness crab, lots of yellow crab oil/fat and some crab meat over rice. The silken tofu was also interesting, a bit salty though. The grilled sea bream and half sasso chicken were delicious. Hopefully there will be more dishes added to the menu in the future, as the current menu items seemed a bit limited. Service was good and the atomsohere was also elegant, clean and chic.“

We did not expect the $250+ Service fee on top of the $300+ gratuity. After reviewing our invoice, a huge error was discovered -- we were overcharged by $300. We were refunded for that $300 error. Air conditioner was out of service. We decided to skip dessert and wrap up dinner earlier than planned.“

“After a few hours at MoMA, my husband and I stopped into 53 for a cocktail and a break from the summer heat. What we expected to be a quick stop turned into one of our favorite moments of the day.

The cocktails were excellent, but what really made the visit was the bartender. We ended up having a great conversation, exchanging recommendations for speakeasies and cocktail bars around the city. It's those genuine interactions that make a place memorable.

This was actually our second time here—we celebrated my birthday with dinner a few years ago, and I still remember how beautiful the food presentation was and how much we enjoyed the meal. On this visit, we also learned they've opened a speakeasy downstairs with live jazz on select weeknights, which gives us the perfect excuse to come back.

“Ok, this place is an experience. Now with the all the chichi restaurants, Mama's is a break. It's a hole in the wall, mom and pop, home made style like you hadn't tasted before in other established restaurants. I feel I am in China and trying out their local foods. Their pot stickers are huge full of meat. The special Mama's noodle is full of surprises. I liked the way that we went there with 3, she pulled out the only table in there and clear the stuff on it and made it a dining table for us. The owner is very friendly and chatty. She told us they use the best Japanese made rice cooker and German made knives. If you want a homey and unusual experience. Drop by when you are in the hoods.“

“A great restaurant to entertain a group of people, the atmosphere and service is very good with attentive staff and you can actually carry a conversation without yelling at each other.

The food comes out in a more family style manner where it is recommended to get multiple items to try a bit of everything. The food overall is pretty nice and I would give it a personal 7/10, but I wouldn't say it is a great price ratio. It's a more fusion style restaurant, but the flavors are on point and I would not be disappointed if I we're asked to come back .

There are several soup bases to choose from. I recommend the signature beef bone broth. It was flavorful, comforting, and not overly salty, so the soup itself was very drinkable.

We also tried the dry mixed malatang, which was a little too salty for my taste.

There are plenty of noodle options and a good selection of fresh ingredients. Everything looked well stocked and was being refilled regularly.

I also liked that they give you a small sauce bowl. The sesame sauce and chili oil were both really good.

Very convenient if you like choosing your own ingredients and building your bowl exactly the way you want.“

Food and service were great each time and everything tasted right. Restaurant isn’t the biggest but they can handle a large party. I believe the may be cash only also.“

“I've only gotten rangoons from here, and it's the best crab rangoon in the neighborhood. The crab is visibly present and you can taste it. The wrapper is also thin and crispy. I can only assume they make the rangoons themselves, which is a good sign of the care they put into their other dishes. Every other restaurant gets pre-made rangoons because they are all the same joyless cheese packets with overly thick dough and no flavor. If you, like me, crave the rangoon...make sure to give theirs a try.“

“Ho Won N Forsyth was a great stop after lunch at Spicy Village. I picked up three rice rolls for dinner, two dried shrimp rolls and one cilantro scallion roll and was genuinely impressed by how well they held up.

I ended up eating a dried shrimp rice roll about six hours later, straight from the package without reheating, and it was still wonderfully fresh and bouncy. The texture was excellent, and the shrimp added a satisfying savory flavor. I gave the cilantro scallion roll to a coworker, who was also impressed by how fresh it tasted even hours after purchase. Definitely a reliable option for rice rolls that stay delicious beyond the moment you buy them.“
