“This is my second time here. Overall great vibe, but I think the food is a little bit too salty this time. The thousand year old egg is my favorite. Just be careful that the pepper topping is very spicy.Probably because it’s Chinese new year time, and also Friday night, service is slow.“

“Tasty dim sum, a compromise towards flavor and price over ambiance and excellence. Everything was well prepared, and had a good flavor; yet nothing was outstanding. The self service ordering system is convenient, and the pictures are useful. It loses some of the charm of push carts and nagging waiters. The ambiance is sterile and the sitting seating space is of average comfort“

“Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish.Every single thing we ordered was delicious and so flavorful. I’m very picky about my Sichuan food and Chili exceeded my expectations.Definitely try the scallion beef pancake roll and the golden corn with salted egg yolk! (But really, try everything we ordered **see photos**)Interior is such a vibe. Service is incredible. We are in love. Will definitely come back regularly.“

“Opted for the double-cooked pork this time, and it offered a stunning impersonation of the original, with an assertive medium-spice sauce. Tofubox isn't content to get by with Nice Try Vegan Chicken Nuggets.Exploring vegetarian spots for curiosity rather than necessity, I've often encountered situations where, say, a jackfruit sandwich is just fine, but I'm still full after spending $20. Tofubox, however, offers a surprisingly good value proposition. If you're reading this review you're not a regular yet and thus should start out with a box set, preferably Box Set B.“

“I come all the way from NJ just for these soup dumplings and they’re everything that I could’ve hoped for! I loved the Lucky Six Soup Dumplings as a first timer. The Tsingtao beer they offer accompanied everything very well.I’ve been twice, and they were full of people both times, but it only took a minute or two to get seated as a table for two. Great service“

“A cozy place that you almost don't see if you don't pay attention. But it hides an enclave of very delicious food with beautiful decorations and a modern style. The chicken curry dumplings were the best, well filled with… well, filling. They look small, but you eat about 6 or 8 and you'll be full. The cashier was friendly and filled my order quickly.A small place that's easy to miss if you keep on walking, but it hides great food and beautiful decorations with a modern style. The chicken curry dumplings were the best, filled with… well, filling. “This is a fast food restaurant with spacious seats, a clean and tidy environment, and the floor is not greasy or slippery. After ordering, there is a number slip, and you can go to the counter to pick up your meal while your number is called. Today I ordered beef brisket udon. The beef brisket was cooked soft and chewy, and the udon also tasted like the springy Sanuki udon. It also comes with half a soft-boiled egg and fresh green vegetables. My body, which originally felt like it was about to catch a cold, felt warmer after eating. Most of the diners are Easterners (I think it represents the taste), and there are also Western faces. Currently, the ratio is about seven to three. It’s an environment where you can dine comfortably even when traveling alone ?“

“Every morsel of New Years dinner was perfect. Even the cold crumbs remaining after making Peking duck buns were juicy and flavorful. The soup accompanying the duck was impeccable and generously portioned. Sautéed green beans were super tender without being mushy and overdone. And far from gouging us for the favor of seating us on the holiday, the price of the duck was cut $10 in observance of the New Year. Lovely casual and welcoming vibe makes me resolve to sample the rest of the menu.Vegetarian options: Sautéed garlic string beans are a must, I expect pea shoots are stellar.“

“We got a reservation for 9 people on a Sunday morning at this location of Dim Sum Palace and it was a nice way to spend time with family. The restaurant isnt very big but there's enough room for two large tables and a decent number of tables for 2 and 4. We ordered around 20 different items and the standouts were the shrimp rice rolls, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, and stir fried turnip cake. The service was generally good but three items never arrived at our table and we had to let the staff know; the food arrived at the end when we were almost at max capacity. All in all Dim Sum Palace is a more relaxing and approachable alternative to venturing to the large dim sum places Chinatown or Flushing.“

“The dumplings are really good! We got pan-fried shrimp and pork (which was very flavorful) and chicken (not as flavorful as the pork and shrimp but still very good). The staff was very friendly. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have chili oil. The soy sauce that comes with the dumplings is really good, tho!! (Light and sweet)“

“Since this place has blown up due to some viral videos, be prepared for at least a 20-30 minute wait. Also, be prepared to be yelled at by the owners of the surrounding businesses, the line blocks their store fronts, and Mei Lai Wah needs to manage the line better to prevent this from happening. The buns are absolutely divine. The breading is just so YUM! It's absolutely worth the wait! It's super affordable as well.“

“Neat Beijing style restaurant - the atmosphere is really beautiful, reminds you of old courtyards. The cold chili chicken was my favorite dish along with the sour pickle fish. Wasn’t a fan of the duck on the buns served like mini sandwiches. Still think Beijing Duck needs to be wrapped in rice papers. There is a very good mix of dishes here though that should be able to suit every palate.“

“Food was excellent. Only disappointed with their hot and sour soup. Service was great. They always refilled the water and tea. But you come for the food, we were extremely satisfied.“

“We ordered Lao Ma’s Hoof Flowers, Bobo Chicken, and Paper Wrapped Fish. As a Chengdu native, let me comment. The red oil of Bobo Chicken is particularly authentic, but the only drawback is that the chicken is very poor. The spicy paper-wrapped fish we ordered was delicious and the fish was relatively tender. However, the fish was too small, only a little over a pound by visual inspection. After all it was $68 fish, it deserved a bit bigger. I don’t recommend Lao Ma’s Hoof Flower Soup. It tastes good, but it’s not very authentic. Overall I feel the price is on the high side. The environment and service are very good, and the clerk is very enthusiastic.“

“This place is really good. The lunch specials have a generous amount of meat.. probably around 10 shrimp for fried rice whereas other places give 5! I’ve enjoyed the lavender milk tea, black fungus, and hot and sour soup. Staple Chinese food.“

“The rice rolls here always hit, the prices like everywhere else continue to go up.The experience is fast and efficient, there hasn’t been a like the last few times I went. Typically get two - pork and beef. If I was being really picky, I wish they would increase the meat to lettuce (reduce this part) ratio, as the lettuce is a little crunchy taking away from the mouth feel.“

“For the last few days, I walked by Hui Restaurant on 70th between Second and First Avenues and the place was always filled with customers. I decided that we should come for dinner and I’m glad we did. While Hui had lots a very spicy dishes, we chose carefully since I’m not wild about the items that have pictures of hot chili’s next to their descriptions. We started with an appetizer of cold noodles with sesame sauce. It wasn’t spicy but it was very flavorful! We ordered the whole fish steamed with ginger and scallions. It was FANTASTIC! Our waitress, who might also be one of the owners, not only deboned the bass, but proceeded to make sure that we got all the fish that was edible by constantly returning to assist us with this delicate process. I asked her what her name was and she jokingly said: Grade-A! We also ordered Zha Jiang Noodles. Every thing we ate was delicious and while we were pretty full, Grade-A recommended for dessert, a warm mochi ball, called Sesame Sticky Rice Ball. This was possibly one of the tastiest desserts I’ve ever eaten anywhere! While this evening was our first time dining at Hui, we will definitely be returning often!“

“This really might become my favorite dim sum place. Also a dim sum lunch special!? Yes please!! I got the 5pc pork soup dumplings + 4pc scallion pancake lunch ($10.95).The soup dumplings were delicious, filled with SO much broth but made very well so not flimsy at all. They're perfect. And the scallion pancakes are hands down the best I've had in nyc. Thin, crispy, and the dough is almost... a tiny bit sweet? Idk if I'm alone on tasting a very light sweetness but I'm obsessed.Intimate space but not too small that it’s uncomfortably tight. It’s great, I can’t wait to come back!** BTW: the card minimum is $15, so cash is preferred for smaller meals. Otherwise you just get charged 50 cents for card.“

“Holy cow was this food delicious! But be warned, some dishes pack a punch with the deeply aromatic spices. The service was friendly and prompt!“

The shrimp dumplings were done very well and had great texture, siu mai was fresh, lava sesame balls was a treat (great way to end the meal with this dessert!). I love the chilly tofu! It was simple and very flavorful. Everything was delicious! “Service was meh. We were seated right away but at a table that got blasted with the winter wind every time the door opened. We asked to be reseated and got a much smaller table right next to the service area but no arctic blast. We ordered Hot and Sour soup, Lettuce Wraps and #7 in the noodle dishes. The soup was very tame but was cured with the addition of chili oil. The lettuce wrap filling with the accompanying sauce was delicious but the lettuce was a bit wilted and limp. The noodle dish was very tasty and plentiful. All and all I would consider coming here again.Vegetarian options: It did not look for vegAlthough I was not looking for vegetarian dishes I did notice several on the menu“

“This is a food stall in the Urban Hawker food court. We ordered the Empress Curry Chicken ($18.00). The dish is mildly spicy, more of a peppery spicy via the coconut curry. You can choose rice or rice noodles; I chose rice noodles. The chicken was tender, and the curry was very fragrant. I highly recommend this dish. The service was courteous and quick.I happened to meet the owner, Cheryl. She was a very nice person. There is free WiFi via the food court. The place is wheelchair accessible. The food court has 4 gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. Review 2023-339“

“Went for lunar new year. It’s a pretty nice place with good service. We were given chinese new year themed keychains. They had a restaurant week menu that offered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for $52 for 2 people. We got 2 restaurant week orders and family styled it. The portions were large and it was way more than enough food for 2 people. My favorite dish was the Grand Marnier prawns. They were huge shrimp battered and fried over lettuce, tomato, and walnuts topped with pineapple and a sweet white sauce. Sweet, rich, and delicious dish. The stir fried beef noodles which were savory and good. The noodles were soft and wide like the consistency of Thai noodles, and the dish was sufficiently beefy. The beef could’ve been juicier and tastier though. The king pao chicken was fine. The mouth watering chicken was good but spicy. That was over cucumber and topped with a sauce, peanuts, and scallions. We got 8 soup dumplings and they were tasty, the right warmth, and better than din tai fung. There was so much food that we took 2 entrees worth of food home. Very solid Chinese food overall, but it depends on the dish.“

“Must try: Dim Sim Platter! Why: Delicious dim sim sampler and each piece are large so the entire platter was filling! My favs were Crabmeat and shrimp with spinach, Crispy shrimp ball, and Shrimp dumpling. The most unique that pleasantly surprised me was the Black truffle and mushroom dumpling as it was packed with flavor. After the meat dumplings, I ended with Steamed egg custard bun and Crispy Sesame ball, both were great. My friend and I also shared Chow Fen with Roasted Pork and we were only able to finish half the plate. Notes: Convenient location in Midtown and great for a lunch bite. Food came out fairly quickly. Neat wood decor. Clean spacious interior with booths and tables. Will come back for more dim sum and try other dishes!“

“Great neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The service was very attentive. All the servers help all the tables. The soup dumplings were really big and the dumpling sauce was really good - not too vinegary or salty. The spare ribs had a great flavor. The scallion pancakes had a good flavor but were too thick which made them more doughy rather than crispy. The sauteed string beans was my favorite dish. They were so flavorful and delish.“

The crispy garlic chicken is fantastic! Also: prices on the menu are still lower than the prices they actually charge you - off by a couple bucks depending on what you order. We were still able to have a nice meal for 2 for about $40 total - but we were dissuaded from side dishes and supplements like fried rice because of the rising prices.“

“Overall, above average for a daily Chinese lunch restaurant. Below average for a fancy Chinese restaurant. I was I can't tell if this place is a neighborhood, Chinese place or a fancy place- it seems to have a split identity. The original interior design is nice and the mute menu looks elegant, however, the place feels cluttered. The hot sour soup was above average with lots of fillings including some noodles in it. The har kao (shrimp dumpling) was large and fresh. The skin was a bit thick and chewy but not too bad. Overall much above average. The shrimp and broccoli was about average. The broccoli pieces were way too big, apparently someone in the kitchen didn't want to spend a lot of time cutting. The shrimp was very small. The sauce was light almost as if I had steamed broccoli with steamed shrimp and a little sauce over it.“
