“My daughter chose this for a birthday dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic. Audrey was our server. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, made great recommendations, she was there when we needed her without being there too often. I would highly recommend Rosella Sushi. Can’t wait to get back to New York City and return for a meal here. It also makes it extra cool when Chef Jeff is wearing a Florida Gator hat!“

“Good experience, especially with the happy hour special. The food is okay now, premium sushi set , the fish is average at best, cooked food is also average. Restaurant focus more on profit now I believe. Decor and service are still excellent“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“We got the tomato basil soup here, and it was really tasty and comforting. Honestly, the main reason we came was because it reminded us of that memorable moment from Seinfeld, which made the experience even more fun. But beyond the nostalgia, the soup itself was genuinely good and definitely worth trying!“

“I’ve had sushi all over America, and this is a top contender amongst the best I’ve had. The menu is on the simpler side, but don’t let that detract you from the absolute quality they deliver. The sushi rolls are larger than typical and priced very reasonable for what you get. Plus they serve warm sushi rice which not many places outside of Los Angeles do.“

“The waiters in white coats are busy behind the counter, the menu has not changed for decades, and even the lighting seems to have remained in the last century - this is the old New York I want.“

“After taking photos at DUMO coming here was such a treat!! The atmosphere is so aesthetic and my sister and I took amazing photos in here. The food was excellent, everything was perfectly balanced between the spice and slight hints of sweetness from the coconut milk (highly recommend getting the salad roll, the tofu was so warm and the rice paper was incredibly soft). The mango sticky rice to end our meal was such a good call too. To top it all off the service was phenomenal, very attentive and helpful in finding the right fit from the menu. Great gem and would recommend!! (Great for vegetarians as well)“

“Not even exaggerating: this was one of my favorite dining experiences to date! Had a surprise birthday party for a friend in one of the private back rooms, and the staff was so accomodating, helpful, and friendly. Our waiter, Chris, was especially awesome: he was super sociable and patient with any questions we had about the food, the hotpot process, and splitting the check. The energy of this place was so warm and inviting- anyone looking to host a night out with friends: rest assured, you will have a great time and memorable experience here. I haven't even started talking about the food.
The wagyu beef is absolutely worth the cost. There are more affordable items on the menu and they are also yummy but guess what? Everything felt priced so accordingly that it is 100% worth spending that extra money on those special menu items. The thin wagyu melts so perfectly into the delicious broths, the thought of it will keep me up at night. Treat yourself and get that meat!!
And my god. The broths. Holy cow. I got the spicy broth, and it was the perfect level of heat* that, combined with the huge selection of sauces, made the proteins and noodles DIVINE... THE RICE CAKES TOO omg.. The tofu, fish balls, and mushrooms were all also really well sourced, just really premium products priced very modestly for how quality they all were. *note: be ready for the peppers that have the slightly numbing/tingling effect- not on a Szechuan level, but a nice and perfect build that makes each ingredient have a beautiful taste profile.
We had the table with personal pots/induction stoves, so all the proteins/veggies we shared, but we would also pass along samples of the other broths to each other, and I wish I had ordered my own bowl of the seasonal vietnamese pho broth too because the one small bowl I sampled was heavenly.
I will definitely be back again to try the drinks, they looked fantastic and the ambience of the bar felt so nice.
Also, just realized I was too engulfed by the good food and fun with friends that I forgot to take pics. It was that good man“

“Great value for lunch omakase in the UES. The $49 lunch set comes with an appetizer, 9 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and dessert, which felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food.
The fish quality was good, especially the o-toro and salmon belly. I personally prefer a more traditional/simple style of sushi where high-quality ingredients are served with minimal seasoning, and some pieces here had a bit more toppings or flavor combinations than I usually like. That said, everything was well prepared and enjoyable.
The caramel ice cream dessert was surprisingly delicious and a very nice ending to the meal. Overall, a solid and satisfying lunch omakase with great value.“

“i went there with my family and we enjoyed every meal.
the portions are huge, especially compared with the price.
there’s a lot of variety in the menu, from vegetarian dishes to meat and fish.
the service is super fast.
you just have to be a bit patient about allergies, because the waiter didn’t understand what i was telling him so i showed him a photo of the food i was talking about.
if you are in chinatown i would recommend this place“

“Okdongsik serves one of the most memorable Korean meals I’ve had. Their pork bone broth is exceptionally clean, rich, and deeply comforting, showcasing just how much flavor can come from a deceptively simple dish. Paired with what is, in my opinion, the best kimchi and mandu I’ve ever tasted, it becomes an unforgettable meal. The minimalist menu, meticulous preparation, and focus on quality ingredients make this a standout destination in Koreatown and a must-visit for anyone interested in authentic Korean cuisine.“

“This is such a lovely spot. I first tried this spot many years ago. There used to be a Polish restaurant one block south of here, Neptune. We would go there and then come to brodo and grab a broth to go, often for my dad in the VA hospital up on 23 St. few places would sell you just broth.
I absolutely love the Hearth broth and you can add the ginger turmeric, which I highly recommend. I also ordered and tried the beef broth with ginger and turmeric, it was fine. Oddly enough, the hearth had a richer, beefier flavor than the beef did. It’s just a heartier flavor, I highly recommend it. I could easily pop over to enjoy a cup of broth in place of my daily coffee, it’s a similarly comfortable cup that travels well.“

“There’s something incredibly comforting and nourishing about a good coconut chicken hotpot, and Coco Hotpot 皇椰鸡 delivers that experience beautifully. We ordered the Coconut Chicken Set for 2, which came with a half portion of fresh cage-free chicken, your choice of noodles or rice of your choice, and a vegetable platter filled with corn, winter melon, napa cabbage, lettuce, and enoki mushrooms all slowly cooked in fresh coconut water. The portion was honestly perfect for me and my boyfriend satisfying, balanced, and filling without feeling overly heavy. If you want more, they also offer plenty of add-ons to customize your hotpot further.
What makes this style of hotpot so unique is its history and philosophy. Coconut chicken hotpot originates from Hainan cuisine, where food is known for emphasizing freshness, clean flavors, and natural ingredients rather than relying heavily on oil or intense spice. Unlike traditional hotpots that focus on rich broths or chili oils, Hainan-style coconut chicken soup highlights the sweetness of fresh coconut water paired with high-quality chicken. Coconut water naturally contains subtle sweetness and minerals, which creates a lighter and healthier broth that still feels deeply flavorful and comforting.
The experience itself felt very thoughtful and authentic. The server prepares everything tableside for you, which made the meal feel even more special. They first pour the fresh coconut water into the pot and bring it to a gentle boil before adding the chicken. As the chicken cooks, they carefully skim away the scum from the top to keep the broth crystal clear and clean tasting a traditional cooking technique that helps preserve the purity and delicate flavor of the soup.
The chicken turned out incredibly tender, juicy, and naturally flavorful from simmering in the coconut broth. You can truly taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Once we added the vegetables, the soup became even better. The corn released extra sweetness into the broth, the napa cabbage softened and added depth, winter melon gave the soup a refreshing and cooling quality, while the enoki mushrooms brought a subtle earthy umami flavor. By the end, the broth develops into this naturally sweet, savory, and aromatic soup that tastes so comforting yet surprisingly light and healthy.
We chose udon noodles instead of rice, and it was absolutely the right choice. The thick chewy noodles soaked up all that flavorful coconut chicken broth beautifully. Every bite felt warm, silky, fresh, and incredibly satisfying.
They also have a sauce bar available if you want to customize your dipping sauces, though it does come at an additional charge. Personally, the broth itself was already so flavorful that it barely even needed sauce, but it’s a nice option if you enjoy mixing garlic, scallions, soy sauce, chili, or sesame-based dips with your hotpot.
This meal leaves you feeling nourished rather than overly full. Refreshing, healthy, authentic, and genuinely delicious. I also love that their menu offers many other traditional soups and coconut-based hotpots to explore, which makes me excited to come back and try more next time. Definitely a spot worth revisiting if you enjoy clean flavors, comforting soups, and high-quality ingredients.“

“Surprised to find decent Xinjiang food in Manhattan.
Ding ding fried noodles were quite authentic, just a bit salty. Lamb pilaf wasn’t greasy, which I liked. Lamb skewers were tender and not gamey.
Service was okay but a bit inexperienced — had to remind for water.
Overall, good food, service could be better.“

“I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars. Service is fast, food is edible, but not something I would crave or after eating felt satiated.
I’m vegetarian so I got the veggie bowl which was kale, broccoli, picked veggies and sweet potatoes with quinoa. There was too much quinoa in relation to veggies. I did eat everything and left most of the quinoa.
Veggies tasted ok and everything was seasoned well.
If you are in a pinch and need a fast healty-ish lunch, I think this place could work. I have been here twice in the year and a half I have lived in DUMBO.“

“Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is a well-known ramen spot that focuses on traditional Hokkaido-style ramen and is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. The setting is different from a typical ramen restaurant since it operates in a food court environment, but the quality of the ramen makes it stand out. It has a simple setup where you order at the counter, receive a buzzer, and pick up your bowl when it is ready.
The ramen is the main reason to visit. The broth is rich, flavorful, and has the deeper taste that you expect from a good Japanese ramen shop. The miso ramen has a strong savory base without being overwhelming, while the shio ramen offers a lighter but still satisfying flavor. The toroniku ramen is another highlight because the pork is tender and adds a lot of richness to the bowl.
The noodles and toppings are solid, though the experience can vary depending on the dish. The chashu and pork toppings are some of the stronger parts, with a good balance of texture and flavor. I liked that the bowls feel hearty and filling rather than just being focused on broth alone.
Since it is inside a food court, the atmosphere is more casual than a dedicated ramen shop. Seating is shared with the rest of Mitsuwa, and it can get crowded quickly, especially around peak meal times. Going earlier helps because the lines can build up and finding a table may take longer than expected.
The pricing is a little higher compared to some ramen spots, especially considering the food court setting, but the quality makes it easier to justify. It feels like a convenient way to get a more authentic ramen experience without needing to go into the city.
Overall, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is one of the stronger food court ramen options around the area. The rich broth, quality toppings, and consistent flavors make it worth stopping by, especially if you are already visiting Mitsuwa. Just plan around the crowds because it can get busy.“
