“My brutal procrastination finally caught up with me, so I’m only now getting around to posting something I should’ve written at the start of the year.
This is where we had our New Year's Eve dinner on Dec 31, 2025. The total came to nearly 3,000 USD for three people, which included three tasting menus, a pretty nice bottle of wine, an extra order of Hokkaido uni, which was absolutely delicious, and the tip.
The restaurant is tucked inside a supermarket, which was kind of interesting. The atmosphere and setting were pretty good, with an open kitchen, and the staff were polite as well.
As for the food, I’d say it was decent but nothing that special. The overall quality was fine, but it felt overly fussy and trying too hard. Flavor wise, it didn’t go for that clean, natural kind of profile. It leaned heavier and more muddled instead. Most of the dishes were a bit too rich and greasy for me, which just isn’t my thing. To be honest, the two Michelin stars felt a little overrated.
One other thing that annoyed me, and this is different from most other restaurants, was that the deposit you pay doesn’t get deducted automatically from the final bill. They charge you the full amount first, then refund the deposit about a week later. Since I used a Canadian credit card and the exchange rate was swinging pretty hard around New Year’s, I ended up losing a bit of money for no good reason.
So overall, it wasn’t a particularly enjoyable experience, though I wouldn’t say it was terrible either.
That’s about it. 😍😍😍“

“Cannot WAIT to return! To say I was blown away with the professional and kindly approach of the staff, is an understatement. From the super waiter, Mike, to the GM, Matt, and all points in-between, AND adding in the amazing food, drinks, desserts and ambiance.. WOW!! Kudos for the highly memorable evening! Thank you.“

“Sushi Saikou offers a modern omakase experience focused on high-quality fish, creative pairings, and a more personal chef-driven atmosphere. The restaurant has a calm and intimate setting that works well for special occasions, date nights, or anyone looking for a more interactive sushi experience. The counter seating allows you to watch the chefs prepare each course while learning more about the ingredients and techniques behind each piece.
The omakase menu highlights carefully selected seafood, with courses that go beyond traditional sushi by incorporating unexpected flavors and combinations. At around $120/person, the standout creations include premium pieces like toro paired with caviar and truffle, as well as other specialty bites that add richness and texture to the experience. The fish quality is the foundation of the meal, with each piece served with attention to detail.
One of the strongest parts of Sushi Saikou is the hospitality. The chefs and staff create a welcoming environment rather than a purely formal tasting experience. Conversations at the counter make the meal feel more personal, and the explanations behind each course add another layer to the dinner.
The pacing is designed around a shorter omakase format, which makes it easier to fit into an evening, although those looking for a longer, slower tasting experience may want to consider the course options and any additional pieces. The portion sizes are refined and focused on quality over quantity.
Overall, Sushi Saikou delivers a polished omakase experience with excellent fish, creative dishes, and warm service. It is a strong choice for anyone looking for a memorable sushi dinner where the interaction with the chef is just as important as the food itself.“

“An incredible dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. You can truly appreciate the creativity, skill, and attention to detail that Chef Chen brings to each course. Every bite was memorable, and we enjoyed the meal immensely. Some of the dishes reminded me of the dishes I had at Eleven Madison. My favorite was the crab noodles and the scallop dumplings. A well-deserved reputation and a restaurant I would happily return to. Highly recommended!“

“Check out my I G lawyer.traveler.dreamer for more footage of our experience. Bodai in Midtown Manhattan offers a rare and memorable dining experience. The restaurant blends Buddhist philosophy with royal vegetarian cuisine inspired by the Qing Palace. It was my first time trying a full vegetarian tasting menu, and I was impressed by how flavorful and creative every dish was. The mushroom dishes stood out the most, especially the Stichotas japonicus with cucumber sauce, the pan-seared boletus with green millet, and the Nepal mushroom quinoa with pepper sauce. Each course felt balanced and intentional—low oil, low sugar, and focused on natural taste. Even traditional dishes like Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and zhajiang noodles were reimagined beautifully. The dessert, called “Nectar of the Core,” was light and refreshing. Dining at Bodai feels like a calm, thoughtful journey through color, texture, and flavor. If you’re looking for an elevated vegetarian meal in NYC, this is worth a visit.“

“Amazing experience. I took my wife there for her birthday and we were both very impressed. It is very expensive and special but worth the special treat. We usually end up too full and feeling sick after pre-fix and this menu was perfect. We were surprised by every flavor and every consistency. Even the things we weren’t excited about (like the carrot) we loved! And the presentation was gorgeous (like the sea bass) and how it went with the art. It is a cool concept without being too pretentious. The service was amazing. So many staff per couple we were so pampered. And they had a great wine selection.“

“Truly the most delicious and lovely dining experience. I had the good fortune to try the five course tasting menu. Everything was stellar but the tempeh with a steak sauce like glaze will long stay with me. It was perfectly rich, smoky and easy to digest. Additionally, the HAGS team is so thoughtful and adapted the dessert to reflect my allergies, creating a scrumptious poached pear dish with fresh cream, lemon balm and a graham cracker crumble. I immediately texted my friends after my meal to make plans for my next visit. I’m especially excited to try HAGS’ renowned brunch!“

“We came for dinner on a Sunday after a show, the menu was a 7-course tasting menu with an optional 8th course and an optional wine pairing. We opted for the 8th course and my wife did the wine pairing, I got the Sour Plum cocktail which was fantastic. The price was on the low end for a Michelin starred restaurant, making this a comparatively more accessible option for fine dining. The staff was very bubbly and constantly executing elevated soft touches to make for a memorable experience. The dishes had such a vast array of flavors, my favorite was the plum duck but it’s tough to choose from so many strong contenders. There wasn’t a single “miss”. The wine pairing was a perfect complement to the courses, we’d highly recommend opting for it since that took this to the next level. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend Yingtao!

“The service is impeccable. Our waiter, Anthony was attentive and pleasurable
The seafood tier was great in presentation and taste
The steak, I and my colleague got was lack luster. The steak was not juicy and tasted dry or old cut of meat, I requested medium rare but it was cooked more to medium. They are most known steak but has not shine in that department.
I didn’t give feedback about the steak to staff because I was at business meeting and did not want to ruin the mood.
The steak standard needs to be revisited at this location.“

“We’re always skeptical of chain restaurants, but estiatorio Milo Hudson Yards is a notable exception, delivering an outstanding dining experience.
This upscale restaurant offers a high-end menu. You pay for the ultra-fresh ingredients, vibrant ambiance, magnificent panoramic view of the Vessel with a sunset backdrop, and superior service.
Our server, ILIR#636SER, was amazing. He was super attentive and professional, escorting us to the open-air ice bar seafood station. He explained every item in detail and provided great suggestions from their extensive wine list.
Every staff member, from the entrance to the manager, was extremely friendly and respectful, even to our long-distance friends, who had just landed from an ultra-long-haul flight, dressed in relaxed clothing with a cap. They didn’t feel uncomfortable at all!
We’ll definitely return for special occasions or to treat our visiting friends. This is undoubtedly a venue to impress and a representation of the world-renowned NYC!“

“I had an exceptional experience as a solo diner at EMP in May 2026. I selected all vegan options and truly loved every course except the soft tofu, which I found overly salty. The radish tostada, asparagus, and dessert courses were standouts for me. I loved watching the front of house team work around me and the kitchen tour was a huge highlight! I would come back, no question.“

“- Lunch Review -
Ambiance (5/5): We were seated immediately on a Friday during lunch peak hours. There were very few occupied tables in the large establishment. The decorations provided a feeling of class and sophistication. Mood lighting is on the dark side but it was dead silent considering no guests in sight.
Service (5/5): Our wait staff was on the ready from beginning to end. Plates were cleared, crumbs removed, and often check ins.
Crispy Chicken Sandwich (5/5): Everything was done right!! the chicken had a lovely breading that had tons of flavor on it’s own. Not too much of it, not that oily, and a great exterior crunch to a juicy piece of chicken. The Korean BBQ glaze was delicious and paired well with the large cut house-made pickles and brioche bun. The sprinkled sesame seeds (white & black) were a nice artesian spin that also gave it an extra flavor!
Truffle Fries (4/5): The fries were truffle-forward and a light crunch to soggy (It needed more of a crisp for it to really knock it out of the park)
The restaurant would get brownie points if management provided a wet towelette bc the glaze was very sticky!“

“We had a beautiful evening at Cezar. Chef Cezar, formerly of Brooklyn Fare, brings the same precision and creativity that made his previous restaurant so memorable, while creating an experience that feels entirely his own.
The tasting menu is predominantly seafood-focused, and every course was beautifully balanced, elegant, and full of flavor. There is a generous use of uni and caviar throughout the menu, and the standout bite of the evening was an unforgettable combination of uni and bluefin tuna—one of the best we’ve ever had.
The ambiance is calm and understated, with a simple, minimalist design that keeps the focus exactly where it should be: on the food. The open kitchen adds another layer to the experience, allowing you to watch the chefs work with incredible precision and attention to detail.
The service was polished, attentive, and genuinely warm, making the evening feel special from beginning to end. Cezar is one of the few Michelin-starred restaurants that we’d gladly return to—an exceptional meal that feels just as inviting as it is refined.“

“My overall experience was good. We booked a chefs counter seating and were seated very closely to the grill station. It was quite toasty, so it’s worth noting if you plan on doing the same.
The portion for the chefs menu was surprisingly big, most dishes were pleasantly executed. The menu incorporated many authentic ingredients from northern Mexico with French techniques and some Asian inspiration, it felt like a nice blend.
Our server was very nice but due to our seating we were having a hard time hearing him. Although I appreciate that multiple staffs came over to greet or to check on us from time to time.“

“CG Wall Street is a wonderful place for many reasons: excellent food, always served promptly; terrific service with personable servers; pretty well-designed interiors. Today it wasn't too busy, so the noise level was way down. Pre-Covid it was mobbed, loud, and really festive! Great place to be.“

“The dumplings were very good, the crispy fried beef was excellent, and the Peking Duck was out of this world fabulous. Service was gracious and skilled. Spareribs were dry and very overcooked. If they would turn off the tacky, noisy disco music, spread out the tables a bit more, and lose the horrible, suffocating scent that permeates the air and smells up the warm hand towels, it would be much more sophisticated and elegant. I’d love to return for more of the food, but please: get rid of that other stuff.“

“Great Middle Eastern restaurant! All food that we ordered was delicious and tasty! From the outside it was okay but when you taste their food then you will change your mind! Location: It is located on second avenue, the interior is nice with a nice bar in the side. The outdoor seating is better, cause it is spacious and more safer and comfortable. Service: The servers are nice, they gave you good recommendations. A little bit busy as usual, but they try their best to accommodate! Also, they gave us free shots because we get along with the servers. Food: All that we ordered was delicious, small servings tho but the taste of the food was good! FALAFEL PLATTER: omg the hummus that comes with it are so good! Silky and perfect with the falafel and pita that comes with it. It is good for sharing or even by yourself! BURATTA: the cheese is soft and delicious. It comes with bacon or ham? I'm not sure but it tastes good with the burrata. CALAMARI: we were sad when it came cause we thought it was fried but man it was so good, it was grilled and it taste like a ceviche. EGGPLANT SCHNITZEL: the fried eggplant is so good and not over fried so the softness of the eggplant was retained. FROZEN PASSION FRUIT DAQUIRI: omg it was so good and refreshing, but hits you at the end! LOL Price rating: 8/10, it was not that bad for the price. The food was great. Will definitely come back here if I pass by second avenue and if I crave for good hummus and that passion fruit daiquiri! LOL“

“Everything was super fresh – you can really taste the quality. The chef paced the meal perfectly, following our speed without rushing. Each course came with a short, clear introduction, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personal.
The menu had highlights like toro with caviar, A5 wagyu, and sweet shrimp with uni – all delicious.
Highly recommend if you appreciate fresh ingredients and a relaxed, attentive chef.
Will be back“

“We had such a wonderful evening at Fleming's Edgewater. Sergio took amazing care of our family. He was so kind, friendly, and attentive, and he somehow always seemed to know what we needed before we even had to ask. The manager also came by several times to check on us, and you could tell everyone genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. There were six of us, and every single steak was cooked exactly how we liked it. Everything was delicious, and the view made the evening even more special. The best part was seeing how excited our son was. We were celebrating his birthday, and the staff surprised him with dessert and sparklers.
