“I have been coming to Ondo since their soft opening and have always had a great experience. Their food is consistently excellent, and they also have some of the best cocktails.

I recently tried their tasting menu and was pleasantly impressed by the quality, creativity, and flavors of each course.

The Korean melon konguksu was the highlight of the meal for me. It was unique yet still felt authentic. The gochujang octopus romesco was also absolutely delicious!

Their desserts are great too. I especially love the injeolmi tart. It has the perfect balance of sweetness!“

“Food: I ordered take-out and the food was great. Fried chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside. The sauce was not overly salty and super flavorful. The beef rice bowl has decent portion with enough spicy sauce for me to add more veggies at home.

Service: they called me to confirm what sauce I wanted as I forgot to select it on the app. The staff at front desk was super nice and polite.

Vibe: It was not peak hours when I went. The environment was nice and clean. When I was waiting in the store, the music was not super loud which I appreciated.

Updated: I went again today and try their rice cake dish. Super yummy 🤤“

“This place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious and has that comforting, home-cooked feel. Despite being a cozy spot, seating is surprisingly easy. The owner is incredibly welcoming and organized, making you feel like a guest in their home. The atmosphere is chilled and laid-back with a low noise level, perfect for a great date night. Highly recommend!

“Roll combo platter A is a great deal for $80: more than enough food for three people (could easily feed 4-5) and comes with salad and miso soup. Service is great and the dining room is a nice size, doesn't get too loud so you can enjoy a nice conversation over yummy sushi.“

We splurged for the 14 day aged duck and it was so worth it — it’s now my favorite duck I’ve had in NYC! I’d recommend coming with st least 4 people if you order it.

The pan con tomate and frog legs were surprise hits for me, and I loved the chai tres leches cake for dessert.“

I thought the Spicy Monkfish was very flavorful and good and the dolsot albap was surprisingly very tasty. Im usually not the biggest fan of albap but this was not too fishy and the crispy rice on the bowl was very pleasant and went well with the dish.
Duck bulgogi probably least special and ok to skip but not bad.“

“5/24 Update, the restaurant invited me back for a meal to redeem their service. To be fair, the restaurant was busy for yellowtail season so understandable.

The food was amazing, we got the scallops rice, salon pasta, Wagyu ribs and the clam soup. I prob would do without the scallop rice for future but everything else hit the spot. Esp my favorite, the clam soup.

Thank you Won and the Capitan of the restaurant for taking care of us! I will definitely be back soon again.

Previous update: Came as a party of one, was seated immediately. Sat and waited for 30mins, no one came to serve me or take my order.

“This place is amazing. We tried the fava bean hummus - bursting with flavor and garlic forward (which I enjoy). The steak and grits was so buttery and delicious as well. The ice tea was a surprise stand out as well. To top it all off the service here is unmatched. I look forward to coming back soon.“

“Absolutely wonderful — hands down one of the best meals of the trip. Every dish we ordered was excellent: the watermelon salad, tuna, mandu, steak and potatoes, tteokbokki, and the sesame bread and butter pudding were all full of flavor and beautifully presented.

I loved the Korean-fusion small-plates concept — creative, shareable and really well executed. The cocktails were also excellent.

We sat at the bar for a 5 p.m. dinner before a 7 p.m. show, and the timing was perfect. Service was sharp, everything came out at just the right pace, and the bar had such a lively, engaging atmosphere with great conversation from the team.

Specializes in tofu dishes so we plumped for the spicy tofu hotpot but also ordered some tasty beef and zucchini pancakes and spicy gochujang chicken. This eatery features on the Michelin guide and is always packed, and rightly so! Maybe a little on the sweeter side for my taste but isn’t everything in the USA? 😜 Regardless, it was stupid tasty and we inhaled everything“

“I loved it all! We got the shared galbi dish with two cold noodle dishes. The banchans were stellar, the other reviews didn’t miss on those, but for me the spicy cold noodle was truly amazing. I’d almost just want it as its own dish, but very happy we got it.

I’d recommend the galbi to anyone or the mini galbi, eat it with some kimchi!“

“Dining at Joo Ok in New York felt incredibly special to me as a Korean. I had visited Joo Ok in Korea several times with my parents, so I came with fond memories and high expectations. Somehow, the New York experience felt even more refined and memorable. The cuisine has evolved beautifully while preserving the traditional techniques, flavors, and soul of Korean cooking.

Every course was thoughtful, sophisticated, and deeply rooted in Korean culinary tradition. Even the desserts carried a sense of jeong, the warmth, generosity, and affection that are so uniquely Korean. I especially loved the beautiful tableware by Korean artist Myung Wook Huh. The vessels were works of art in themselves, and seeing the food presented alongside pieces by Korean artists made each course feel almost like an artwork of its own. There was a beautiful harmony between the food, the craftsmanship, and the space.

The interior was warm and intimate and made me feel as though I were back in Korea, while the New York city view outside created an almost dreamlike contrast. The service was gracious, polished, and genuinely warm.“

“The best Korean cold noodle in Manhattan—and maybe all of NYC! They’re Pyongyang-style cold noodles served in a mild, delicate broth. The noodles have a high buckwheat content. I would rank them alongside some of the top-tier, authentic cold noodle houses in South Korea. A little more generous amount of garnish would be great, though.

Hwangtae hot noodles come in a clean, delicate, yet flavorful broth, finished with fresh perilla oil. I could tell high-quality ingredients (pollock and perilla oil) were used.

I truly enjoyed them. The sides and appetizers were high quality as well. I would visit this place again.“

it didn’t meet the hype that i had heard online, HOWEVER it was a great spot.

for food, we had the cucumber kimchi, which was pretty great. much better than the cucumber salad at din tai fung, but smaller, and had a similar spice level, very low. definitely a highlight and a great way to start.

the ricotta toast was next, and it was ok. i wish we had ordered the caesar instead. as someone who adores a ricotta toast, i thought that the ricotta was really overpowering and i wish more flavor was there to compliment it.

we had the legendary burger, which was solid. not award winning, but certainly was great. the meat had good flavor, and i would recommend trying.

we also had the tater tots which were really great. exactly as described on the menu, and were my favorite item, tied with the cucumber.

as for the chopped cheese rice cakes, i would only recommend them if you are a fan of triple cheese mac n cheese or something similar. good dish, but i would have like to have known about how strong the cheese profile was.

what i will say is that the service was really incredible. we felt welcomed and satisfied at all times. huge shoutout to the waitstaff here. i would come back just for them honestly. super accommodating. thank you guys!“

“What a gem of a restaurant. We were a party of 3 and walked in- no wait for Sunday supper. Ordered yellowtail, tiger milk avocado, corn dumplings, tofu, sweet potato, cauliflower, noodles- exceptionally creative and well balanced flavors, spice, sour, sweet, umami, creamy and crispy textures, just perfect. Chef Kay is a very talented chef, and the wait and front of house staff were very sweet and accommodating. 10/10. Will return to taste everything on this menu. Nothing disappointed but the sweet potato, the tofu, and the noodles were standouts. Very charming space with cozy design and warm and dim lighting. Nice outdoor tables, nice bar.“

“Visited on Wednesday night to celebrate mine and my husbands wedding that day and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by lovely friendly staff. We were seated quickly and were introduced to our server. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was fantastic. We opted for the Korean bacon to start and we both had the butchers feast. Outstanding. The steak was beautiful and the dishes that came with it were amazing too. The short rib and egg soufflé were my favourite.
