“We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

“The best Korean cold noodle in Manhattan—and maybe all of NYC! They’re Pyongyang-style cold noodles served in a mild, delicate broth. The noodles have a high buckwheat content. I would rank them alongside some of the top-tier, authentic cold noodle houses in South Korea. A little more generous amount of garnish would be great, though.

Hwangtae hot noodles come in a clean, delicate, yet flavorful broth, finished with fresh perilla oil. I could tell high-quality ingredients (pollock and perilla oil) were used.

I truly enjoyed them. The sides and appetizers were high quality as well. I would visit this place again.“

“They just revamped their menu and I’m all here for it! My favorites were the rice noodle rolls wrapped with tofu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, carrots and preserved radish, Thai beef stew and the Panang short ribs. The beef stew was SO tender and collagen rich, literally every bite was melt in your mouth. Short ribs, also as expected, tender and flavorful. The Thai ice cream was a perfect finish - sweet toppings, cold coconut ice cream, warm pandan sticky rice - all different flavors and textures but all work together in harmony.“

“Had gone for an early evening catch-up meeting with a friend. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Great selection of wines and even better was the 'art of recommending' the right wine. We accomobied the wine and discussions with Sushil unrolled and Chicory salad, both tastes great and were the right size for 2.

“We hadn't been to Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare in a while, and the staff remembered what we ordered last time. That tells you about the level of service and the management behind it, not just the food.

Marc and Max are cooking at a level that earns every star — fifteen courses and the execution never slipped once. The Hokkaido uni with king crab and geoduck was my favorite bite of the night. And the dessert was to die for — not one but two, the tropical refresher and then the Fujisan bread with soy caramel and Japanese whiskey. Leave some room. This is what a Michelin restaurant is supposed to feel like.“

“After eating so much (pizza etc )we needed to eat something different, spicy and booked this gem,as it as near to our hotel. It was also our 40th wedding anniversary. We are from U.K. This was amazing perfectly cooked tasty home made authentic Indian cuisine. We had mocktails ( lavender was refreshing ). The tandoori lamb chops x4 were full meat seasoned beautifully and delicious. All other sides perfect too. Now in U.K. we hate restaurant Indian puddings they are usually bought in and awful/failure. After finding out the chef is the owner and a recipient Michelin star we were convinced to stay,try and this was the first time we have had authentic home made puddings; try Kulfi with rose water & also Indian rice pudding. The whole meal was exceptional great value and we will recommend this restaurant to anyone else visiting New York. Easy to find off Times Square /Broadway. Over the years, we've celebrated countless Girls' night-out birthdays here, and it never disappoints. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, every detail is perfect.
