50 Best Japanese Restaurants near Palisades Park

“I just discovered this place after returning from Japan so, im going to be abit more critical on the food.

We started with spicy crab meat, It was the imitation crab meat, which was to be expected for the price.

Then my girls had the corn cheese, it was pretty good.

Then the yakitori assortment came out, i thought this was the best dish of the entire dinner. We each took pieces from each type, the only ones I didnt have a chance to try was the beef. Everything else was pretty good and very flavorful. Just got to watch out for the tomato one, it exploded in your mouth and the juices were burning hot, wasn't expecting that.

The next thing that came was the volcano and dragon roll. The volcano was really done well as it had real crab meat this time, which I was surprised with 😮. The dragon roll was kind of soso. I didnt like the sushi rice as it was very sticky.

The next thing that came out was the sashimi assortment, we got a small as the kids didnt really help us with it. They only like the typical salmon and tuna,they ignore all the other whitefish. We also got the handroll to me it wasn't anything to write home about.

The last thing was the wagyu beef sushi, I was really looking forward to this one and it came so late, right before we were all pretty stuffed. The same thing happened when we were in Japan and it was the best wagyu ever, I told my wife I would go back to Japan just for the waygu sushi...lol.

Ok so back to Jersey, this one was ok. It had more flavor of the burned sides and not enough beef flavor, also the ac was cranking so cold that this thing was already cold by the time it reached our table, it really killed it. I was really disappointed with it.

Overall the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but the cold temp and high prices didnt hit the mark for me. For the price and 45 min drive... I wont be making the drive again. Our total bill including a 20% tip was about $290“

“Celebrated my brother- in- law's job acceptance tonight. He wanted- to eat here because a few times we have had it through calling and picking up the order.

I had Vegetable curry with rice. Curry was flavorful. The vegetables were mixed in it too.

Restaurant was relaxing, decor was clean and simple. Our waitress was friendly and came over frequently to add water. All payments are accepted.“

“We LOVE Haru Hana - it's our go to for sushi. Their rolls are delicious, and everything comes near and ready to go. Cozy little takeout store , convenient spot, with super nice staff. They're very cool and accommodating and we really enjoy it.“

“Koran food caterer. Not a restaurant. Eunhasoo is specialized in this particular food service. So each individual food item may disappoint you, but they are extremely competent when it comes to mass producing.

Some food items I highly recommend: Injeolmi rice cake, japchae, jeon (assorted fritter), namool rice, roast ribeye roll.“

“The Japanese and Italian flavors mixed well and are to come back for. I stayed in the hotel where the restraunt was attached. In the area, with a focus of cocktails and table service for an upscale environment, it was delightful.

I love cocktails, and the servers were personable. Nothing pretentious. They focus on service and taste! Our food was excellent and the drinks were even better. It's a pleasant experience.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

My friend had the bento and the salmon was a bit dry but otherwise food was good! The sushi taco appetizer and sesame cucumbers were excellent!“

“We had an amazing experience here this evening. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing and chill. The simple artistic decor creates a serene atmosphere. The food is delicious. We especially loved the beef tartar, duck, miso cod, milk bread, and shirt rib. Sticky toffee pudding was rich, but somewhat delicate. Cocktails were well balanced. Everyone was extremely attentive and the attention to detail made the entire experience one to cherish. I highly recommend this place. It's tucked away, but worth the trip. Looking forward to our next visit!“

“Great Sushi and Ramen place on Hudson Yard, been here many times. I love their new ramen Shiromaru Classic, signature maki, Suram bowl and Omakase. Their staff very friendly, helpful, great recommendation. Special thanks to Cristian and all his team, fast service.

“Sushi Makoto was a very fresh experience. The selection of fish was standard but the other appetizers and dishes were unique. The vibe is awesome— with a little more intimacy than some other omakase spots in the city. As well, for the price point, the value here is great. I’ve paid more for less in the city and it feels like these days it’s hard to find “good” omakase for under $200 PP. Corkage fee is very reasonable, and their sake cooling decide is almost worth a visit in itself!

My only quarrel is that it took some time to get seated, for a reservation at 7, a lot of the guests from earlier were still dining and we weren’t sat until closer to 7:20. Which isn’t the end of the world, but something to perhaps note from a business side. Lastly, I would’ve liked to be offered more at the end of the meal instead of being given the cheque. Perhaps that’s standard protocol but it was not offered to us our evening there.

Regardless, amazing experience. Truly loved this spot.“

“Great dinner here on a Friday early evening! We made a reservation but they take walk ins as well. We came with our toddler and they were accommodating and had a high chair! My favorites were the scallop hand roll and the tuna hand rolls.

“NY born and raised. Currently live in the LES. Made it a mission to hit all of the omakase joints in the area, and can confidently call this my favorite.

It’s more on the intimate side as far as ambience is concerned which the service complements perfectly—they are so attentive, polite, gentle, and friendly.

Aside from impeccable service and a beautiful spot, the chefs hold it down! Best food there is I believe. The highest quality from Japan that other places will charge $500+. You can just go to no name for a better experience and food just as good if not better, and it will be a fair price. We paid $120ish for a premium 17 course…can’t really beat the value you’re getting.

Best bang for your buck omakase and check off all the boxes all around. Highly recommend!

“Went to celebrate my birthday and it was totally worth it!! Super fresh and great quality pieces! Will definitely be coming back soon! I was getting a little uncomfortable at the end due to the sitting but it’s definitely a nice experience and worth it. My only complaint is they don’t give you enough sheets of seaweed for each piece. They charge you a little extra when you order more….. but still ok and worth it at the end of the day. “I found this restaurant early this year when I got off work one day, and I come to eat here EVERY week since then. No kidding, I love this place. The food is very authentic, the music here is always a happy surprise to my ear, price is very reasonable, and mostly importantly - I LOVE the owners here! I speaks a little bit of Korean so they were kinda shocked the first time I say hi to them in Korean. But even if you don't speak any of their language, they are always so freaking nice and kind!!! They have a lot of returning customers, they chat with everyone that comes in and treating others like their friends and family. They learned my name the second time I came, and now I have been coming here for about 3 month straight and they are seeing me as their little sister. I will keep visiting this place and bring my friends here too. I hope they are doing well and their business is growing. Much love,
