“My brothers and I hosted our dad’s 60th birthday in one of the private rooms upstairs. Maria took care of us and service was incredible all night! We chose the 3 course sit down menu and family style appetizers which were all incredible. I highly recommend coming here for a private event and will be back soon to try the rest of the menu!“

My go to is the fried flounder sandwich, $5 today, sometimes $6 cash for two huge pieces depending upon market price. They give you the tarter and lemon and tons of other condiments and spices to put on yourself, just how you like it, before they neatly wrap it up and bag it for you. I always tip them two bucks. Been coming and thankful for them for the last 25 years when they used to be a block south. There are similar looking joints but none nearly as consistently good as Dyre Fish is. I have tried so many, hoping. It is the oil they dont allow to be used too long and the fresh fish picked up daily at Hunts Point Fish Market. And the prices have barely gone up in all that time.“

The lobster bisque is the best I ever had ( actual chunks of meat not minced) and all my friends who have tried it agree. The brussel sprouts are so good they are addictive. Fried calamari is always a staple. I could go on but basically everything is always amazing and never have I been disappointed. After being sat down at the bar and ordering drinks while we wait, we were approached the table was ready immediately after being served drinks, so I had to rush to close my tab so I could be seated.
