“The shrimp and lamb were delicious and tasted very warm and homemade. Don’t skip on dessert, the corn cake was very good with some of the freshest ice cream I’ve had. The service was also really good, I recommend this place for a casual dinner!“

“An incredible dining experience in Brooklyn. The tasting menu feels like a theatrical performance — beautifully choreographed from start to finish. The French-Japanese fusion dishes are refined, balanced, and full of surprises. Service is attentive, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the location is very convenient by subway (but parking is nearly impossible). The duck pie is a stunning presentation, though the other dishes impressed me more in flavor. Perfect for a special occasion — they even offer a small cake if noted for a celebration. Would definitely return to try a new menu.“

“I had been wanting to try HOUSE for a while now, being a regular shopper at Dashi Okume. However, had been wary of fine dining experiences in Greenpoint after trying 2 so-so places that privileged novelty over flavor. Well let me tell you, HOUSE did not disappoint.
Picture this. You arrive in a quiet street in Greenpoint, with the typical warehouse-y yet clean, modern and minimalist vibe. You see the interior through giant bay windows of a dimly lit store with Japanese products and ceramics. You see people waiting inside and other patrons dining at the café. By then the store is closed, so you ring the intercom to get in. You wait to be called to the HOUSE, in the back of the store. It feels like you are at your friend's house, and your friend is a sophisticated person with a beautiful house and he cooks for you. The atmosphere is quiet but elevated. There are 10 seats. And you are hosted by 4-5 people. It feels luxurious. You may start the dinner as perfect strangers, but you certainly make friends along the experience.
And the food is incredible. Your friend is an amazing cook. From start to finish, the story is coherent, with subtle development and transitions that never miss a beat or take you somewhere uncomfortable. Flavors are predominantly Japanese forward with some international ingredients and techniques. Noting for example the Monaka filled with ricotta and corn or the french tuile on top of a burrata with berries, reminiscent of Scandinavian flavors.
The highlight of the menu for me was the noodles. With a fragrant Dashi and rich egg noodles covered in egg yolk and fish roe, the final dish on the meal is an unmistakably Japanese grand finale, with an explosion of flavors.
Fantastic experience. Thank you team.“

“All the food I ordered (take out) was great, even reheated. But what made this place stand out so much for me, was the desert. I don't have a sweet tooth, and rarely order deserts, but the pear brulee cheesecake is probably one of my favorite restaurant deserts ever. So good. I need the recipe for the hazelnut crust they make, it's amazing.“

“It was my first time eating at Margot and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and above all, delicious food! If I had to recommend one dish, I’d go with the Homage to Zuni chicken, but honestly, whatever you order will be a great choice!“

“What a delightful dinner experience with food, wine and atmosphere. The host was super friendly and informative. I was pleasantly surprised with all the flavor that every dish brought. I have been meaning to come to this neighborhood sport for a while now and it did not disappoint.
We were celebrating my mother’s birthday and wanted to try a local restaurant with fine fare. We ordered the whole chicken and it was so delicious, we paired with the beet dish and charred salad special and Mac and cheese. We also had the suggested white wine pairing that went really well with our dinner.
Overall a really lovely evening with food and ambiance. Highly recommended and will def be back!“

“Really amazing meal with great service. We had the fillet of sole of course which was tender and perfectly prepared, not overwhelmed in butter. Starting with Sun chokes with caviar which was a very creative preparation and finishing with chocolate mousse. Our server was very attentive and knowledge about our wine. We will definitely be going back!“

“Oysters were so fresh and the service was good! They had a happy hour for $11 of a glass of wine and $20 of a choice of an appetizer with a glass of wine. I thought the food was a reasonable price and I would definitely come again. The atmosphere is great too, when we came it was still empty, but when it hit 6:30 there were more people.“

“My favorite bar in Prospect Heights!!!!! Located on the cutest corner with the best ambiance, patio, bar, music, and people!!! The burger here is out of this world— brioche bun, garlic parm aioli, tomato aleppo jam, French meunster cheese, carmelized onion, smashed patties I mean it really can’t get better and more delicious than that, it’s definitely my favorite on the menu. I come here for that homey yet chic experience and excellent place to sip a wine with a friend. Grateful this place exists!!!!“

“We had the most wonderful 96th Birthday lunch for our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Mexique Cafe. The staff were amazingly accommodating and went beyond our expectations. The food was delicious and all 10 dishes arrived at the same time. It was quite a feat when all 10 dishes were different! We will definitely return before her 97th Birthday!“

“I went here today and had the most delightful lunch with my boyfriend. The co-owner was very welcoming and gave us many suggestions. We split a French onion soup and the duck panini. The co-owner gave us a delicious roasted pepper dip and a mustard sauce that went great with the sandwich. He also ended up giving us a Nutella crepe on the house! The food was great and the co-owner was lovely.“

“Had this place on my list for a while - every day their Insta stories break my heart for seeing what I miss here! And they didn’t disappoint. We ordered the vegan chickpea sando with extra egg and a special: spicy lemon drop + basil chicken cutlet sandwich. Also a tiny raspberry cakey treat and the pecan pie for takeaway. Everything was divine, super fresh, super creative, super colorful and flavor bombs. I wish I could go every day since they have new specials daily! Also the drink menu is not to miss - the date oat milk shake was so goooood. Only downside: it tends to get a little chill since there’s a lot of people going in and out. But it’s a busy place for a reason!“

“This place is divine. The bartenders make you feel welcome immediately. When we sat down we ordered a couple appetizers and wow, huge flavor! French onion was on point, salmon tiradito was INCREDIBLE. Duck slliders are awesome with that deep only duck flavor topped with extra crunchy shallots.... Perfect balance. Salmon entree was perfectly cooked (which never happens nowadays)
I'm in no way a food critic but I've traveled all around the world. If you want to eat delicious food from several cultures under one roof, this is your hut!“

“This place is a hidden gem and a great option for anyone looking for a great date night spot with delicious seafood. It’s small and cozy, and the owner personally greeted us at the door, which immediately makes the experience feel special. Add in the fact that it’s BYOB with just a $10 uncorking fee, and it’s hard to beat. The crab and corn chowder was outstanding and one of the best soups we’ve had in a long time. The salmon and sea bass were both great dishes. Needless to say we found a new favorite spot!“

“Met the lovely clerk at the Morningside Heights farmer's market. I bought the last Kouign-amann, and the gentleman asked me to give him feedback. It was really delicious. Very crispy, and faint notes of burned sugar balanced with the crispy sweetness.“

“This cafe is a gem. We ordered the mint fruit salad and breakfast sandwich, both simple but delicious. The ingredients felt fresh and the bread was perfect, soft on the inside and just crunchy enough on the outside. The fresh orange juice with ginger was also super refreshing on a hot day. The interior is beautiful too, a true European vibe.“

“Good food but strange policy. The waiter took our order and disappeared. Supplemental staff served the food. There was no normal waiter service. Then the tab included an added fee for "restaurant service" of about 15% That money I was told goes to the owner! No wonder the waiter went home.“

“Went for brunch. Good food but not great, pricey, with slightly over salted ham in the Croque Madame for my liking. We had a reservation for 4 but that changed to 6. They really couldn't accommodate that change, but it was last minute so I don't hold that against them. Very busy place with lots of energy.“
