“Hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here and we are SO glad did - everything was perfect! Everyone could not get over how delicious all the food was. Danny worked with us to create a menu that was tailored to us and our guests and we got SO much food included in the package we did. He also worked with us to create table arrangements that worked best for our event. I was worried at first that the space only being partially private and not a true private room would be an issue but it was not at all! We really didn’t need it and were happy to still get to enjoy the Sinatra singer that plays for the restaurant that night. He even came over and sang for our party and had us dance which was not expected but a fun surprise that we loved! Overall we had a great event here and I am so happy we chose them to host it!”

“Davenport Press is one of my go-to spots for a delicious, consistently enjoyable meal. My favorite is the pistachio-crusted trout with perfectly cooked mixed vegetables. To end on a high note for me is their beautifully made cappuccino. Davenport is conveniently located just a 3 mins walk from the beginning of Track 2 of the Mineola stop on the LIRR. It's a warm, reliable favorite that hasn't disappointed.”

“From the moment we were seated Darwin & Al took great care of us. Our cocktails were soooo good followed by burrata , Cesar salad which were delicious! I had filet mignon which was done to my liking and the 2 sauces were a great enhancement! My husband had the special, halibut which was also delish. We ended dinner with banana fosters! Yum. Can't wait to return. Made a reservation for a Christmas dinner with my birthday group. Thank you for a great Anniversary celebration!”

“This spot is a neighborhood GEM. I hope the people living here know this. Best Sushi and sashimi for miles around. Solid everytime. The fish is kept well and served well. The whole family works here and they are so nice and friendly. The dad who is the sushi chef has one of the fastest hands around. He just cranks the orders out like butter. The store has about 6 tables but they are never packed. But while I dine in the takeout orders are endless. This man can handle it all and still can chat with you.I wish I lived nearby.... Lucky you, Mineola...”

“So, I have to admit that after moving to Mineola 2 years ago from Queens, we have been eating our way through the neighborhood. We finally tried Spaghettini and boy, were we upset that we didn’t try them sooner.
Everything I have tried so far from pizza to paninis has been amazing. I cannot recommend them enough.
They are a wonderful neighborhood spot and from what I can tell, many people agree with me as they always seem busy.

“My husband has Portuguese roots through his maternal grandmother, and we decided to visit the Mineola Portuguese Center yesterday to watch Portugal play. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine Portuguese pride. Even though I'm not Portuguese, I could feel the strong sense of community and tradition that makes this place so special.

The food was absolutely delicious. The caldo verde and picanha were incredibly authentic and tasted just like the meals my husband's Portuguese family prepares at home. It truly felt like a home-cooked Portuguese meal.

A special thank you to Hilda, who warmly welcomed us, gave us a tour of the center, and took the time to tell us about its mission and history. It was wonderful learning about everything the center does to preserve Portuguese culture and support the local Portuguese-American community.

We can't wait to come back more often. The Mineola Portuguese Center is truly a hidden gem, and we're so fortunate to have it so close to home. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Portuguese food, culture, and hospitality!”

“Tacos Malamadre is an absolute hidden gem! Tried them for the first time and ordered 3 birria tacos, 3 carne asada tacos, and chips with guacamole. Everything was top-notch and full of flavor. The food genuinely exceeded my expectations!

The service was excellent, and my takeout order was ready in about 10 minutes. The prices were worth every single penny, and the atmosphere was a 10/10 — nice, quiet, and welcoming, with friendly people.

“We used Mama Soup catering for my little ones drive by birthday. An employee came and set up the soup kettles and sandwiches along with plasticware and to go packages. He was professional, quick, covid safe and so very nice. My family and friends couldn’t rave enough about the food. Those who stayed had seconds and even took leftovers home. The price was reasonable for the amount of food we had. “We have ordered from here several times now for my office. They have a buy one get one free option which really is worth it. Their breakfast sandwich with scrambled egg, bacon, cheese and hashbrown on a roll is great. I get their Havest Quinoa Salad with crispy chicken and it's always fresh. Well worth the price. Their chicken strips with honey mustard are really good and everyone in the office likes their various Totz sandwichs.”
