“Had such a great dinner at Rice Bowl yesterday! Monica, our waiter was kind and attentive. We always come for the calamari, j*** pork, and garlic chicken fried rice, this time had veggie lo mein and roast lamb as well. The atmosphere can be hit or miss - sometimes its more of a bar scene and can get loud. Yesterday, however, it was comfortably ambient.Consistently good food, excellent service, and unique flavor makes this a must every time I'm in town.“

“We started off with some tasty cocktails: A Japanese twist on a margarita and an amazing whiskey-based pink one (the name escapes me but it was truly unique and delicious. We had their rendition of a Caeser salad, which was enormous. The deep fried burrata was also quite big… and truly unique and scrumptious. I could have drank the cheesy broth all night. The fried hen was nice. The black cod was as well. The sticky pudding with lime ice cream dessert was massive, but the two of us managed. Also - get the potatoes…. A great compliment to everything.“

“I’ve been coming to Rolo’s since they first opened and they really never disappoint. The food just gets better and better. Everything is amazing but my hands down favorite is the shrimp. I’d say it’s easily some of if not the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The whole menu just compliments itself from the Calabrian chili butter to the wagyu steak. Also, Sitting in the back of the restaurant is such a cool experience because you get to watch the chefs work their magic on that wood fire grill. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in NYC and in my top 5.“

“One word, phenomenal! My best friend and I had dinner here during our weekend trip and Daniel exceeded every expectation we could’ve had. We chose the Five Course Prix Fixe menu with caviar service and both the food and staff were excellent. Details were perfect when decorating-from the original floor to the walls and art-mood lighting and light jazz on the speakers, the restaurant is very charming and romantic.The staff is meh-waitress seemed uninterested-some staff were wearing baggy long shirts/jackets that don’t work well in tight spots. As we were a table of two sitting in the middle-every time they walked by their tails of the shirt would hit us and our table. If you’re going to wear a very baggy loose shirt-tuck it in-to prevent this annoyance.No one seemed to be pressed for time-taking orders-fresh drinks-etc. the doorman stated when the next reservation was-as a warning not to linger more than 1.30 hours, but the waitstaff seemed clueless to this as it was she and her absence that kept us there almost 2 hours. Mind you-we were enjoying the wine, food, and conversation so we didn’t mind, except we had show tickets and were almost late. The waitress had an air of royalty attitude- better than us-as we are lucky she would visit our table and take our order. This is how she made me feel.Food is as delicious as beautifully plated. The atmosphere and food stole the show-the staff needs training-I’m not going to remove a star from the review for the staffing issues as the restaurant as a whole-and their food-is stellar. However, staff review is 2 stars.Came back for lunch when I was back in town-;lunch service was much better and the food was delicious, again.Kid-friendliness: Not at all-this is a different caliber restaurant where children should not be.Wheelchair accessibility: None. “The place is beautiful and very well decorated. We were there for Saturday morning brunch. I recommend the American breakfast which is well served for the price. The meat and potatoes are well seasoned. The bread basket is a little expensive for what’s inside, especially for a French person :)“

“The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service correct and efficient. It has a Michelin star but it does not force you to order set menus or any specific dish. The duck is super delicious and I would say it is the star dish of the house, the quantity is abundant, it is enough for 3 people. The pastas are also very delicious, the bucatini amatriciana comes in a good quantity, but the ripiene is a small dish. You have to book in advance and in general it is a very worthwhile experience.“

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“The best brunch plate that I've ever had. And I don't speak that easily. Felt like I was eating a dinner entree for brunch - in a good way. Duck pastrami hash & poached eggs, caramelized onion, parsley salsa verde & local greens. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the salsa was great. The duck and the hash was other worldly. Tons of duck. In almost a stew of small potatoes perfectly softened. In some type of gravy. Wow. Even the greens are great. Nice light dressing. Almost salty. Service was friendly and attentive. My daughter said her avocado toast was excellent. I don't make it to Brooklyn that frequently but can't wait to go back to this great spot. I didn't drink that day but they had a nice looking and well stocked bar.“

Let me set the scene for ya'll... 35 of my closest friends, Game of Thrones themed decor & fits, cocktails that made everyone say "I drink and I know things" and the most fire food in the neighborhood... the party was a SLAY. Tali, the company's event coordinator, is the sweetest, most hard-working, and detail-oriented, especially when it comes to your event. She even went above and beyond to surprise me with a GOT themed menu by naming my cocktails after details of life. For example, she named the spicy margarita after my dog, "Kevyn the Kingslayer." COME ON! How amazing is that?!Speaking of cocktails... the incredible bartender, Olivia, bartended Red Witch magic with the amazing cocktails she made for everyone. She even dressed along with the theme, with her sword, serving vibes that was giving Night's Watch combined with Red Keep of the Bar. Everyone kept raving about every cocktail she made with style and care.When it comes to the food, The Bonnie always delivers, so of course my hopes were high for Charlie's. AND MY HOPES WERE MET! The ham and cheese toastie platter was delicious. The franks in a blanket were some of the best I've ever had. The beef sliders were a HUGE hit. And there were veggie options so we had the veggie quesadilla and the mac and cheese bites which were a crowd favorite.Overall, this party at Charlie's made me feel like Daenerys Targaryen on top of her Throne, like the Queen that was promised. “We came in by accident when we were riding a ferry from Manhattan. It's a great place. I really liked it here. Interior , dishes . The waiter served us quickly and advised us to try the fish, as I said that I love fish. Indeed, the food here is delicious, so I would like to recommend the restaurant to friends.“

“Amazing breakfast sandwich. Chicken sausage was so good and flavorful, spicy mayo was perfect. Perfectly toasted brioche was the cherry on top. They have a full menu and specials like corn bread french toast and shrimp and grits, will try that next time. Cappuccino was really good. Few seats inside, handful of tables outside. “I pass the Penrose frequently, a block from the 2nd Ave Q entrance on 83rd. It is a perfect spot to meet up after work for drinks and snacks. Good music, friendly atmosphere. I tell everyone, my husband and I had brunch with our wedding party there. Great place. Recently my dad passed, and when trying to decide where to celebrate his life with extended family and friends my sister and I decided on The Penrose and emailed the events manager Chaya. She helped with everything, never got tired or short with her answers. We would think of all our questions after we signed off. Chaya made recommendations, helped our ideas come to life, and made a difficult moment easy. Day of memorial: Chaya and her team created the perfect atmosphere. Our server Emma and bartender Audrey were exceptional. The guests kept telling us what great service, atmosphere and food, but repeated to us how great the servers were. We had 30 people, in the back area with tables and bar seating. Chaya helped us choose the right amount of food, and beverages. Emma kept the area clean with out being intrussive, Audrey kept us “hydrated”. We had a buffet food area - food was great!They put to go boxes out for guest to take treats home. Thanks to Chaya we were able to truly celebrate dad, she had his play list, which we provided pumped in and a slide show with his great life moments on the screen over the bar. He served in WWII, a decorated war hero, with great taste in music. They also insured the Honor Guard ceremony, presenting flag and playing of taps went off seamlessly. As I said in my first paragraph The Penrose is a great place, but on this day it was exceptional. “We booked this place strictly off of seeing their viral Instagram post from @righteouseats and their affiliations with the Win Son restaurant across town. I thought Win Son was a 10/10 dining experience so of course I had high expectations. Service/Ambiance:We arrived as soon as they opened, and we were quickly seated in tables for two with stool type chairs it definitely was a tight squeeze as the place quickly filled up. There is really no where to place your coat if you're sitting in this area unless you walked about 10 feet to the bar are where there was a hook on the wall. Those backless chairs quickly became an issue for my 6'2" frame. Our waitress Sharon was excellent! She was attentive and super friendly and helpful making food recommendations, etc and definitely the reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 3. Food:Food was mid for me. The toast tasted oily, the ribs were overcooked AND oily. You def needed that sauce but I wasn't going to pay $7 for a sauce sampler. The once saving grace was the rice. It was flavorful and yummy and the chicken was moist and crispy as it should be. I probably won't be visiting again and stick with Win Son restaurant and bakery.“

“The smoked salmon on sourdough was good. My friends enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and huevos rancheros.Our situation was a bit weird. We'd booked a table on the patio for my friend's birthday and we were on time for the reservation, but for some reason they gave our table away. They asked us to sit at a table inside by the bathrooms instead. We said we would prefer to wait for the table we booked outside, and we waited about 40 minutes. Once we sat down, everything was fine, just could've been a better experience.“

I thought it would be a greasy pizza, but it wasn't greasy. I ordered it thinking it was a Korean large size, but it was almost twice the size, so if you're Korean, be careful about the size.Really good to buy pizza, burger etc.“

“Early March my and wife and I held a baby shower there. They were extremely accommodating with us and our guest. They also were very friendly and it worked out very well. We had families and most of the ladies at the tables and we had filled the bar with our drinkers and younger crowd.Music was good/ food was good / service was great! Siobhan the bartender has been great ! She makes amazing cocktails and even better conversation. What I tell my friends is come for the drinks, stay for the bartenders. With a combination of staff and amazing drinks this will be my regular spot for a long time.“

Happy Hour: This is my favorite because you can't beat $1.50 for fresh oysters and beer. Service: The servers are attentive, and the bartenders are friendly. I love there is usually a basketball game on the screen. Ambiance: During the weekend, it is busy and can be a bit noisy if you are sitting at a table. “This place is going to be a favorite of mine in 2024. I recently celebrated my birthday at Harrison during brunch. The service was exceptionally attentive and personal. The food was fantastic with ample portions with left-overs tasing just as good as when dined. The music was classic rock with a lot of great classic americana portraits and photos of nostalgia. The staff was particularly attentive to our needs and we never had to wait. I can't reiterate how impressed I was with this restaurant. I must also add that the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The Harrison is five stars.“

Started with a drink at the bar where Malik made us feel like family! Amazing martini to kick things off. Restaurant is packed yet somehow not super loud. Got a great corner table where we had the Edamame hummus to start which is very good, wait staff is split and they are all super attentive and friendly. Entree was a nice pork chop on the bone for me and salmon for my wife. Both were very good. Decided to go back and sit at bar for a night cap with Malik and Benito who took great care of us. “4.5 overall. A decent sized place with a bar (no liquor license yet, but they're trying for it! BYOB until then) and games to play. Lots of metered street parking. There were 8 of us (a couple of us carpooled) and we did not have trouble finding parking. Since there were 8 of us, we were able to try almost all their dishes! The bathroom is large and beautifully decorated florally. Mimi (the co-owner with Chef Shane) was informative and attentive. She helped us decide portion sizing and answered any questions we had. The water comes infused with citrus, adding a refreshing taste. We all opted to get other drinks as well. I opted for the Calico Calpico. It was balanced with the sweetness of the calpico and salted rim. Did not taste much of the oolong tea, though that is a lighter flavor. Must gets: The Golden Crab Bao was loaded with tender snow crab stuffed into a crispy bun. The creme fraiche and yuzu tobiko add a lovely balance. The Roasted Bone Marrow came with soft toast. Gotta eat it quick while it's still hot! The marrow was delicious and went well with the toasty but soft bread. There is a little bit of meat still on the bone for those who enjoy gnawing on bone! The Fresno Gouda Cornbread had a nice kick from the jalapeno. Perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. The Chicken and Mochi Waffle is a great twist on a classic dish. The salty and sweet soy garlic maple syrup went well with the crispy chicken and toasty squishy mochi waffle bites. I love how shareable this dish since it's bite sized! The Rice Noodle Rolls were flavorful, soft and chewy. Just wish I wasn't so full by the time this came out. I would have eaten much more! If you love...then get: The Endives Salad is a little strong with the vinaigrette. It does help balance the bitterness of the endive, but only get if you love endives. The Stir-Fry Peashoots was a big portion! It stayed pipping hot and was flavorful. I love pea shoot and this is a great version. The Mala Tots have a strong tingly kick, which can be cooled down with the delicious dip. I just wish there was more dip! The Charcoal-Seared Scallops is buttery deliciousness. It was seared perfectly. The pickles helped balance the richness. The Pork Ribs were fall off the bone tender and had a good little kick from the gochujang. The melted mozzarella went well with the spice. The sweet potatoes are on the side. Can skip: The Milk Bread is a bit small in size. Wish they were bigger so I could really taste the fluffiness. The honey butter is a tasty addition though. The Salmon Seaweed Crisp is a decent portion size. Fresh seafood atop a crisp with the wasabi crema hidden beneath (which I couldn't really taste). The BLT Fried Rice was loaded with bacon and tobiko. It felt more like a sticky rice than fried rice, but that is probably from the baconnaise and soy-cured yolk. Not a texture I am expecting with fried rice. The Pork Belly Wrap had cripsy pork, a few pieces of lettuce (we requested more), a tasty peri-peri dip, and pork rinds that was break your teeth hard. Besides not being able to eat the pork rinds at all, the dish was forgettable. Desserts were hard to judge since we were so full and only had a bite: The Asian Pear Sorbet was chilled and sweet. Nicely presented. The Persimmon Cake Roll wasn't too sweet. Not memorable though. The Milk Tea Pudding was super sweet, but did have a strong bergamot flavor. It was a looser consistency than expected. Wet wipe given at the end, which is great for those who opt for their boil or burger (neither of which we ordered, but would be interested in trying!)“

“It’s such a pity, I really wanted to like this place but was let down for some reason.Ambience was great for casual dining, super hip decor, noises from tables reverberating around the small, cavern like inner room.Food was good as well. But it was so so slow. We wanted to order starters first, see how we feel before ordering mains. We were told it has to be all at once.Even though they took our orders from the start, we had to wait an hour for the mains to arrive (same for the table beside us). The service staff did come by and apologise twice, so I’m guessing the slow service is not usually the norm.“
