The server, I’m not sure of his name but he was a server in the front section by the bar Wednesday around 8pm. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the wine list and knew all the details about the food we were served. The food runner ran thru each item on the food. Just incredible service. The server picked a fantastic wine I wouldn’t usually go for. The atmosphere was fire. Food 10/10. Recently moved to the area and we’ll be regulars now. Couldn’t rate this place higher. “This is our second time at this location ( we ate at a Mermaid in the East Village). Great addition to fine dining in Times Square which seems inundated with fast food and chain restaurants. We're fish lovers and Mermaid has lots of delicious options — crudo, ceviche, oysters, clams for appetizers, lots of fish and non fish entrees. We had a tuna entree that was wonderful. We plan on returning. Highly recommend.“

This isn’t bad largely because the wine glasses were well priced and we didn’t eat a ton. “Best experience!! We had a private event at American Brass in January for about 20 people. Everything was perfect! The restaurant is gorgeous, and the food was delicious! We loved the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. Our menu included a champagne toast, appetizers, their amazing focaccia bread, steak frites, the polenta, passed desserts, and a cake. They were also able to accommodate a vegetarian option. It was all so good!! Everyone really loved their food, as well as drinks at the bar afterwards! The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. Tegwyth, American Brass’s Events Manager, was so thoughtful and instrumental to planning our event! She worked closely with us for months leading up to the party and had great suggestions. Ellen, American Brass’s Executive Pastry Chef, made us the most beautiful and delicious cake. Everyone was raving about the cake! Juan, our server, was also phenomenal and went above and beyond. The restaurant is directly across from the Gantry Park Piers, great for photos. “Love this place! The sushi is so fresh and tasty. And reasonably priced. Free green tea pudding with Yelp check in! The pudding is topped with a spoonful of sweetened red beans. A delicious dessert! My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. The space is narrow with seating to the left and right. In front, a few private mini booth rooms covered with a curtain, line the side of the restaurant. These can seat up to 4 people. There is also a small party room downstairs. In the back, you can sit in front of the sushi chefs if you like, at a high counter.“
