“staff is 100% and very good food but last night I ordered fries instead of mashed potatoes with my pigtails and I got potatoes but it was still good but I would prefer getting what I ordered and also another person on our table got mashed potatoes instead of fries too and ordered fries🙃“

“Visited for the first time last weekend.
Every course was delicious, with mushrooms being the crown jewel for each of them.
The grilled squid was fantastic, grilled, crispy and smoky while also super perfectly tenderized.
The restaurant ambiance is much nicer than it looks on Google Maps.“

“I LOVED the Drag Brunch with King and Lucy Flawless. Brought my mom and she’s equally obsessed. Please keep having them, they’re sooo talented and gorgeous. I had the Pico de gallo avocado toast and they had the french toast and they were both delicious. Amazing vibe, service, food, music, everything! Love you, O’Grady’s!“

“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“Union is a nice and cozy restaurant. The cocktails we ordered (the magnolia spritz and the union martini) weren’t particularly strong. In fact, we were questioning whether they added any alcohol at all. But perhaps that’s our personal taste. The food, overall, was okay. We had the dry aged steak, fish, ribs and hen. Of the four, the fish was the tastiest dish. The hen was cooked well and the chalet sauce paired well with it. On the other hand, we were let down by the steak, which did not have any dry aged flavour whatsoever. Texturally, the ribs felt as they were cooked the day before and reheated, giving them somewhat of a stale and chewy feel. We also ordered three desserts: the orange chocolate tart, the cheesecake and the ginger cake with ice cream. I would strongly recommend the ginger cake and ice cream. The cake was sweet and fluffy and the contrast of heat and cold from the ice cream was lovely. The cheesecake was just okay but the tart was a disappointment; we left most of it on the plate. Overall, a decent experience with a couple of hits and misses.“

“Went last night with a group of 4. Usually I have to think how many stars I give. Not in this case.
This was the best dining and food experience we have had in a long time, The tasting menu was impeccable and incredibly delicious. From beginning to end there was not a single course that was not excellent. I can write abut the food courses but as they will change makes little sense. Let me tell you, it is wonderful mix between flavours.
The atmosphere, the service with the best server you can experience (shout out to Jessica) made the overall experience a 6 star but I only can give.
Will I be back, a million times yes.“

“We used to live in london where we ate at Earl’s quite often. I said that their burger was one of the best you could get. The quality and size was amazing.
We moved away almost 3 years ago and without one anywhere near us, it had been a while.
Went to Toronto Saturday and was excited for the burger BUT somewhere along the line it was swapped out. Far less quality of meat and maybe 40% of the meat it tasted nice was.
The lettuce was twice the thickness of the burger.
Sad to see, yet another example of “shrinkflation”. You have gotten larger as a chain and lost that “special” you were so proud of when you started out west. Too bad.“

“Amazing service, thanks to Momo. The place is beautiful and the spacing between tables is perfect. Finally a place where you can talk without any close neighbours. The food was good but could see some improvement. Especially for the mains, the meat was slightly overcooked for medium and lack of spices or flavour. Don't get me wrong, it was very good still. Desserts were excellent. Atmosphere as well and once again the service was impeccable. Would recommend and definitely go again“

“We were there for the 5 course chef farm to table menu, but the place seemed slammed by Winterlicious reservations that were not expected, so the service was a bit off in that that they forgot our cocktails and then also one of our courses was severely delayed. There seemed to be a misconnect between the bar, the kitchen and service which was odd since the chef's menu and timing are not really up for interpretation. The tasting menu was nice, but I'd be interested to see if what their actual menu is like if we come back. Servers and host were excellent.“

“Joey is our go-to place for special occasions in our family. The food is always amazing no matter the location, the servings are generous, and the staff and servers are friendly without being intrusive. I really liked their high chair for little babies. It was the type that attaches to the table — it was perfect for our 10 month old!“

“Not truly wheelchair accessible. I was very much looking forward to dining here. After reading some of the other comments in the question section, we called to confirm the extent to which they are wheelchair accessible. Utterly disappointed to find out that although they have a ramp, the only accessible dining areas are if you're with one of the large groups. Meaning that as an individual with accessibility needs, I was excluded from dining at this restaurant. My accessibility needs are temporary, however you can guarantee I won't be dining at this restaurant even when I'm able to walk again, until they rectify this situation. Inexcusable to exclude people with mobility needs in this day and age.“

“Overall the food was top notch and the service was excellent, but the fine dining scene is a bit outside my comfort zone.
A few weeks back I joined my colleagues for a winterlicious lunch at Canoe. It had been 10+ years since I had been to Canoe. For the uninitiated, Canoe is fine dining so the efficiency of the staff and care given to the experience is impressive. The restaurant is located on the 54th floor of the TD Centre tower, so we had a great view of the Toronto Harbourfront.
For my appetizer I ordered the artichoke soup with rosemary custard, carrot and crispy sunchokes. The soup was rich (but not too rich) and I loved the texture of the sunchokes.
My main was the Atlantic salmon with cauliflower, fennel and pernod cream sauce. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicately delicious. We ordered a side of bread after getting our mains, so my plate was returned very clean...
For dessert I had the chocolate tart with blood orange and cream cheese. I don't recall much blood orange flavours, but the berry and mint were a nice garnish. I knew this was going to be a rich dish, so I ordered an Americano to pair. I relished every bite of this tart, but it was too rich for some.“

“Peter Pan is truly one of the best brunch spots in the city. 🌟
Especially as someone who doesn’t like eggs, I can honestly enjoy their dishes very comfortably, because there’s absolutely no unpleasant egg smell or taste.

“Delicious every time! The seasonal menu is always a delight for the senses. I live two provinces away and we happened upon this gem of a place a couple of years ago. Yesterday, I had a layover in Toronto of around 12 hours. Took a terminal train, the up train, the subway and my feet all the way from Winnipeg to dine here. Scrumptious. Healthy. Leaves you feeling full without guilt! Two thumbs way up!“

“I feel like it’s rare for restaurants to survive in Toronto as long as Grey Gardens has, but it’s so apparent to me now why it has.
This was a 10/10 dining experience for me, and pretty much the best I’ve had out in TO in a very long time. Just wow. The ambiance is so warm and inviting, the service is TOP notch, and the food is so damn delicious (we ordered a second tartare after we took one bite of the first one). Drinks were bomb too. We spent the entire ride home talking about how enjoyable and lovely our evening was. Thank you so much Grey Gardens! I will definitely be returning with many in tow!“

“Incredible Jamaican vegan cuisine. I’ve wanted to try Ital food for a while but found it hard to get to some of these places. Decided to try out the new Line 5 LRT and this spot is next to the Keelesdale Station. Mainly a takeout spot but they allowed me to eat there because it wasn’t too busy. Loved the food!!“

The interior is upscale and elegant, creating a truly posh environment that feels perfect for a relaxed yet sophisticated meal.
