“I have loved Allenberry for years, but as of today (July 26 2025) I’m wondering if you switched restaurant managers or head chefs? We just had the strangest menu selections and did you change the interior of the Barn? It was perfect the way it was. You offer Chilean sea bass but the breeches is filled with trout yet don’t offer it? I can hear Gordon Ramseys voice in my head asking you guys why you don’t have something local and fresh. I’m no connoisseur, but meat/poultry/fish is best when sourced locally. A bit disappointed by this last visit. Will be back, because you’re a staple, but maybe not the time after next. We’ll see.“

“Went with family for a Birthday. We were a party of 6 about 5:10 or so. They said we could be seated right away and we were. All appetizers were excellent--fish tacos, mozzarella planks and chicken queso Dias and salads. All excellent. Various dinners of a special Filet mignon wrapped in bacon, risotto, blackened shrimp skewer and asparagus. The steak had a glaze of steak sauce of some sort blended with red wine. Another two persons chose the crab cake and New York strip with two sides, another lasagna dinner and last person ordered the honey infused broasted chicken half with mashed and vegetable of the day which was Veggie medley. We were al delighted with our dinner fare and apps and totally full but opted for deserts to go of Peanut Butter pie, Coconut cake and Creme Broulee. Everyone was verbal in saying they were so glad we went here for Birthday dinner. Thanks for the great time, quick table and excellent service. Hats off to Jordan our server.“

“Today my daughter and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch at One 13 Social in downtown Carlisle. Small plates are elegant and perfect for lunch. Mine was Spoonbread Shrimp, extraordinarily creative flavors : salty olive tapanade, savory grilled shrimp, and sweet cornbread with honey butter. New to their terrific menu, hope it stays!! “Ordered take out for 4 adults on Saturday evening. First time we ordered food from this establishment but we checked other reviews and decided to give it a try. . Excellent. We ordered a couple of some evening specials: 1/2 Rack of ribs with chicken and 2 sides; another night special, pork and kraut with mashed as side. I might add if those mashed were not home made, I want the name of them--delicious, others ordered a cheesesteak sub. and the roll was absolutely delicious., with onions and peppers, fries and also another of mozz sticks with marinara, plain cheeseburger and fries. Everything was delicious and order perfect and they said only 15-20 time for pick up. The only thing that could have been better is if the pork and kraut meal and the rib & chicken meal came with dinner rolls or garlic bread. But no biggie. Would highly recommend and the 4 adults who ordered for this meal have all said will definitely go back. Great Job Mays!!!“

Second time was for breakfast with a party of 12. Kids included. Waitress was great, meals were all correct and delicious. Fast friendly service.

My only negative is the coffee was not the best especially the decaf.“

“Great night after we parked the Corvette and sped walk to get right in. Food was amazing although it took a bit it was understandable. It was a big rush night with the Corvette Parade and Party in town. We had fish and chips, two different salads and a Rueben. All cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is great and our waitress very friendly. The beer selection is gigantic. Must go back when we are back in Carlisle. Thank you.“

“We ate here for the first time last night for boyfriend’s birthday. I had made a reservation and we were seated right away. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic. From the pretzel covered mozzarella squares to the agave fish tacos (soooo good), to the elephant ear we had for dessert! We also had a flight to help us choose what we wanted a full pour of to drink. I went with the sour nitro beer (Wildest Dreams) and my boyfriend had the Grinnin’ Grizzly… both of which were excellent. On the way out we picked up some bottled soda to take home. All the staff were super friendly and our waitress was very attentive as well. Overall amazing experience and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a wonderful evening!“

“Great food but I would rather order my food online instead of having to order over the phone. Even when the online ordering website did work it didn't include ordering wings just the other food items. Sometimes it's hard to understand the person over the phone when the place is loud.“

“I frequent Johnny Joes. And I think people get the wrong idea about what kinda of bar Johnny Joes is. It isn’t your fancy pants bar, crazy mixologist, wild beers, life changing food. It is however a reliable place to always get consistent quality food and affordable drinks. It wouldn't hurt if they cleaned the bathrooms every once and awhile but it’s a great time otherwise. They have lottery tickets, pool tables, darts, PA skill machines and a TouchTunes. Sounds standard for a bar but it’s hard to find one this close to home anymore. Smoking is allowed as-well.

Parking: Pretty much unlimited parking. You could easily park a couple bobtails in the parking lot, even with the trailers attached they’d have space to move.“

“Honestly, this is one of the best bars around. Great atmosphere, good vibes, and excellent service. I especially want to give a shoutout to the gentleman (soccter) working the day shift. He’s always professional, friendly, and treats customers with respect. You can tell he genuinely cares about his job and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Big respect to him. “We were a little nervous driving in not knowing if it would be weird to stop in for food and boy were we happy we went! The pickleback wings are phenomenal and Friday was $1 wings all day. All of the food and dressings were fresh and craft. Friendly, attentive service and great prices. Make the stop off the turnpike. You won’t regret it!“
