“This place is AMAZING! My mom and I are in town for a college tour, and many people were walking around with the ice cream so I suggested we give it a try. Immediately the two guys in there were delightful and very helpful and cheery. The atmosphere was so fun the moment we walked in. The flavors were amazing and I almost couldn’t choose between the Thin Mint and the Pittsburgh Pride. I ended up going with the latter. It is like brownie/oreo/cookie chunks and butterscotch. There might be another thing added. My mom got the pear flavor. We are both extremely satisfied with our choices. They did say that the flavors change up pretty often - for example, they’re getting ready for Blackberry Lemonade. But Pittsburgh Pride will always be available. So if you’re looking for a cute little dessert place after dinner, this is the place!“

For the professional ice cream connoisseur, you really should try the large banana split. You can have them swap the usual vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors for any flavor of the day listed. “I came here without knowing much about it other than it has ice cream. I discovered it's more interesting than I expected. You create your own ice cream flavor and add toppings and other additions. I got a regular size custard in a waffle bowl. I combined marshmallow, white chocolate, and caramel flavors and added Oreo and cookie dough pieces. It was yummy and I was super surprised by how big the regular ice cream was. Would go back again.“
“Went for the first time tonight. Service was fast and friendly.Del's serves Perry's Ice Cream, which I grew up eating in Erie, PA. It is awesome ice cream and harder to find in Pittsburgh. On top of that there are many "ice cream parlor only" flavors that you can't buy in the grocery store anywhere.Husband got 3 scoops, and I got the ice cream nachos. Ice cream nachos come with 2 scoops, waffle cone "nachos" and 2 toppings. Both of the things we got seemed like a great deal. As a major ice cream - especially cookie dough - fan I can't recommend this place enough. I would absolutely drive out of my way to come here again vs. Dairy Queen and other independent places.“

I had stopped in today to take advantage of the limited time offer to get the Tres Leches cake before it would be discontinued after this week. “I recently moved back to the area after 35+ years and was happy to see Dell's! My elderly father loves his ice cream and milkshakes and I was thrilled to stop at Dell's for him. Dad got a milkshakes and I got an arctic swirl. Not your bland tasteless machine ice-cream at all. Just good old fashioned real ice-cream at reasonable prices. And what a selection! Customer service was great as we fumbled around selecting several chocolates to take home, the young lady was friendly, patient, and informative. We also got ice cream that we enjoyed outside. As we have got to enjoy every piece of chocolate since our visit highlights included the peanut butter chocolate pie, the brownie, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered smores! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! I got a small size with 2 flavors -- tiramisu and hazelnut. Both flavors were super rich and yummy and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.“

“O.M.G. this place is amazing! This was our first time here, after passing it up so many times on our way to different places. The advertisement for the Peanut Butter brownie parfait on their sign near the road was all the motivation I needed to finally stop. I am so glad I did! The custard is delicious. Unlike many other frozen custard I have had. I'm more of a soft serve ice cream person so this was right up my alley! Most ice creams upset my stomach later but I'll suffer though it to have some ice cream. I'm typing this up 3 hours later, and nothing yet! Finally a frozen treat I can eat that doesn't upset my stomach! The parfait I had, had bits of brownie in it and most places that I have had a brownie in the ice cream, its stale, this was like the brownie was only a couple hours old, it was that fresh tasting. The girls there are so sweet and nice, which just puts the cherry on top of the first time experience there. I will definitely be back to try their giant gobs and to try more of their frozen treats! “Rita's has always been a favorite of mine, this location is no exception. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the hours are decent, though I wish it was open earlier than 12PM. The custard was great both times I've went and I had a good experience both times, would definitely recommend Rita's in general to anybody!The only down side to this location is the slightly limited ice and custard flavor options they had available compared to other locations such as Squirrel Hill's.Nonetheless it is a very nice stop on your trip and always a good treat!“
