“Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the chowder too!“

“The best little wicket pub with such an atmosphere and a great bartender. Was there on a Wednesday afternoon got some GF tots and my daughter for the country tots and the husband for oysters and some top shelf whiskey! So much fun and some really great people. Can wait to head back!!!!“

“We had the Caesar, crudo, sourdough, tuna and salmon. Everything was mind blowing except for the crudo, which was a good sashimi with some oil. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. The sourdough butter was salty Thanksgiving seasoning heaven. The Caesar was one the best, each bite was perfect. The crudo (sashimi) was basic the fish was good and fresh but we would have skipped it next time. The tuna and salmon entrees were incredible. Not sure if I’ve ever had a better cooked salmon. Crispy char, with a flaking moist interior. We have (2) notes. We wish there was a door on the back of house; we had inline view of the dishwashing station and bright fluorescent light, maybe some curtains. Also every person that walked into the far door was confused where the host stand. They eventually figured it out, but maybe a sign directing or close the door entirely. We wish we lived closer so we revisit time and time again. We will be back.“

“5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!“

“Went here for a quick bite and to also try out their lobster rolls. Was not really disappointed. The lobster roll could have been a bit better and with more lobster in it, considering the price you par for the lobster rolls. Also had a slice of pizza and it was very good.“

“This was the BEST RESTAURANT we went to in Newport!! All of the seafood dishes were excellent, fresh and tasty. If you’ve ever been to the famous Oyster Bar in Grand Central station, this place is just as good. Definitely NYC prices for oysters $3.50/ oyster but that seemed to be the average price for a lot of the places in Newport.

The scallops were extremely fresh, sweet and perfectly cooked. Also highly recommend the linguine pasta with calms, along with the lobster bisque. The bisque has HUGE pieces of lobster and was the perfect appetizer. For drinks and dessert, recommend the mojito and the chocolate mouse.

“I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it was really good! Our waitress was attentive and kind. The prices aren’t too bad for the area so I’d definitely come here for a good lunch :) and I was jammin to the music so 10/10 just for whoever had the aux cord!“

“Dined at one of the igloos they have set up on the wharf and it was beautiful and cozy inside with lovely views of the Newport Bridge. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating a winter night. “Best lobster tacos !!! The Management went above and beyond with their service. I had forgetfully left my (newly purchased) red parrot baseball cap under our table. We were visiting Newport, RI from the Northwest and chose to dine at the Red Parrot restaurant because of its excellent reviews. I called the next day about my cap, explaining that we had already left the city. “We came in Sunday evening for a small dinner and dessert and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and filled our drinks quickly. It was pretty empty when we got there but packed when we left. The food was AMAZING. We shared the short rib special and it was so good! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and bread pudding which were also sooooo good! The restaurant itself was beautiful. “They were able to accommodate me on a busy weekend, even let me choose my seat even though I was alone and they had people continuing to arrive. The hostess and waitress were friendly, the food was delicious (pesto shrimp pizza), the view was nice as it's right on the water, and I chose a table that allowed me to see it properly. The band I was particularly happy about- I thought they were fantastic- they played early rock n roll, and I wish I asked their name.

It's a really relaxed atmosphere, not fancy, think old patio furniture. My table was not steady and rocked when you moved, the chairs were plastic, but I didn't mind. If you want a good meal on the water and are not picky about that, I'd recommend this place.

Sat next to window - but cold air coming thru the window made things terribly uncomfortable - had to put on our Canada goose coats to stay warm. We requested a move to the front tavern room - which we were graciously accommodated. Service and food in the tavern was excellent. We've been going to the BP for more than forty years - one of our favors in Newport. We especially like the ambience of the tavern room. Mussels and chowder are the best. But please forego the back room in winter - unless you like attic weather.“
