“I loved this restaurant when I first ate here 28 years ago. I moved away but was in Dallas last night so I made a reservation and it was even more amazing than I remembered. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Charlie was amazing and recommended the best wine pairings but the food… ah the food…. Let’s just say if I ever have a “last meal” I would want it to be this. I got the champagne Brie soup, the Filet Rossini and flourless chocolate cake. Each bite was perfection. Seriously, one of the best meals of my life. Hope it doesn’t take another 28 years to return. “This place feels like a hidden gem, and I really enjoyed the overall winery experience.

I’ve been to wineries in traditional wine country, so this was a bit different, but for the Dallas area, it’s a great setup and definitely worth visiting. I had the chance to try a variety of wines, and the food was really good as well.

One of the highlights was getting to tour the space where they previously stored their wine before expanding to a larger location—it added a nice, personal touch to the experience.

The staff was very personable and helped the evening flow seamlessly, which made everything even more enjoyable.

From the charming ambiance to the flawless service, every detail made the evening unforgettable. We started with their famous Marshmallow Soup — a creamy tomato and carrot bisque with tangy goat cheese “marshmallows.” Truly unique and so comforting. For entrées, we shared the Southwest Chicken Soufflé and the Mac & Cheese Soufflé. Both were divine — airy yet rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. I finished with the Blueberry Soufflé, which was bursting with flavor and beautifully airy. My husband had the Crème Brûlée, with its perfectly crisp top and creamy custard — classic and flawless. “Valle is a very beautiful bar with a great atmosphere and a stylish vibe. The place is well designed, the drinks are good, and it’s a nice spot to spend time with friends. The only downside is that the music is extremely loud. It can be difficult to have a conversation or fully enjoy the experience because of the volume. I noticed that some people even leave because it’s hard to relax and socialize. If they lowered the music just a little, this place would be nearly perfect.“

“What an absolutely fantastic Italian-American restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how great the pasta was.

Started with the fried calamari and whipped ricotta with garlic bread. The whipped ricotta is an absolute must order and I’ll definitely be getting that again. The calamari was good, but pretty standard fried calamari, although I loved the addition of the chilis.

The portions are absolutely massive, so it’s very easy to share dishes. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and they were an absolute delight. The meatballs were juicy, seasoned perfectly, and had a great texture. You can tell they’re freshly made and use quality meat. Others at my table got the Chicken Parm Vodka and Tortellini Vodka, and both were rich, creamy, and delicious. The Chicken Parm portion was especially huge.

The food here is a 10/10 and I’ll be telling everyone to come here for some great Italian food.

The restaurant itself is charming. The booths are huge and I loved all the photos and paintings on the walls. The Kingdom of Italy flag caught my eye too. Once the sun went down, the atmosphere really started to come alive.

There are a few things I think Barsotti’s could improve on. The bussers seemed a little underdressed for this type of restaurant, and some of their shirts were stained. We were also celebrating a birthday and specifically mentioned it in the reservation, so I was hoping for some acknowledgment. Our waiter was very nice and respectful, but I would have liked a little more interaction and explanation of the menu.

Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I’ll be coming back and would recommend Barsotti’s to others.“

The GM gave the history of this location. A few years back, there was a terrible tornado that ripped through the location, but the history of rebuilding the location and the symbolic life jackets on the wall of the 12 survivors who were in the location when the tornado hit.

Honestly, this is what gives a place true character, and I'm sure this place will live on to tell more phenomenal stories. Cheers to these amazing people running this place. A true testament to honest and great hospitality.“

“I don’t go out much anymore, so it could be pretty standard at bars these days, but there is a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. There might be a sign posted somewhere but I didn’t see it. I find it annoying and would rather they just increase the prices. Otherwise, it’s a nice atmosphere.“

“I found the perfect jewel in DFW so I wanted to share my experience. I was stuck at the airport from 10 AM until my 3:30 flight and after several unsuccessful attempts to make a standby cut for an earlier flight, I was hungry and wanted something better than regular airport food before the 3:30. I did a little Google work and Cru sounded right up my alley. Small but laid out perfectly for the space and decorated with relaxing EU and wine inspired style.
The wine is great and being able to enjoy a “flight” at the airport was such a delight. The wine glasses are full size with a stem and each had 2oz - cost was $19.00 which is very reasonable for an airport.
I was torn between the Cobb salad and a panini but at the last minute, I went with the pepperoni pizza. I consider myself a pepperoni pizza expert and can tell you this is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Made fresh, arrives on a wooden board and could easily feed 2 people or 3 if you’re getting another appetizer, everything on the menu looked delicious! I ordered a glass of the first option of my flight, it was light and crisp, from France I think and was $19 for 6 oz. The reason I’m harping on the price of wine is because I paid $26 dollars the day before for one 9 oz glass of CHEAP chard at an airport restaurant. $19 for GOOD wine - how nice!
The sweet young lady that waited on me (long dark hair, I’m sorry I didn’t get your name) was so kind and attentive. She asked people when they came in if they were in a hurry or not which is important in an airport restaurant. I was in the process of finishing my meal when I had to handle some emergency business on the phone (I was in a corner and trying to keep my voice down and I apologized to my neighbors bc 99% of the time I would never do that in a restaurant, I couldn’t walk out with a tab and my daughter was having a school emergency that had to be taken care of right then). By this time the restaurant was really full and I was trying to grab the attention of the sweet waitress so I could get out of the way, she quickly took care of me and the only reason I’m mentioning this is bc I hope she sees the post bc I didn’t get a chance to tell her in person what a delight she was on such a stressful day. I’m so glad I made the trip to terminal D and the next time I’m flying through Dallas, I will definitely visit Cru again.“
