“I'm not sure anyone will be ready for the love I'm about to unload about Cambrian in this review.. so brace yourself and try to stay with me. If you can't make it through the full review definitely scroll down and at least read the part about the sandwich cookies! For your own benefit. ;) I try to wait and visit a place at least a few times before writing a review to be sure that the experience I had is consistent. I can now proclaim that I am like a Cambrian *regular* to put it lightly so what I'm going to include here is the ultimate truth. --The people here rock. ROCK! I know that when looking for a coffee shop its not always about the people but sometimes about the.. coffee? But, if you can get killer coffee served to you via ultra friendly humans.. it really takes it to the next level. My favorite coffee item for the summer is the Cambrian Iced Latte with Oatmilk (flavor is like honey and cinnamon). In winter I get the same thing but hot, or the vanilla syrup. They have way more hard core stuff and slow pours and all that but this is just me. --People go crazy for their sausage rolls. I can't really comment on these personally because I'm not really into meat but my husband, brother and basically everyone I've ever gotten one for (and apparently everyone on the internet) absolutely love them. --I CAN personally attest to the deliciousness of the samosas. So, so bomb. Flaky and well seasoned. The perfect savory baked good! --They have these cool little blue coins to "coffee forward". You buy them and give them to someone so they can come in for a free coffee item. People at the post office totally know about them now and I love to give them out around town! You can even buy them to have them apply to people who come in throughout the day! --There's other stuff like coffee roaster rotations, homemade vanilla syrup, delicious breakfast loaves, clean bathrooms and cool art. They also know how to properly serve tea! --THE SANDWICH COOKIES. I'm trying to keep this clean but I really wanted to say THE *FKN* SANDWICH COOKIES bc I need to emphasize how truly amazing and life altering these cookies are. I live in Houston, ok? I've been to lots of bakeries. Have I EVER had a cookie better than Gemma's sandwich cookies? No. No, I have not. They are a dream and I seriously salivate just thinking about them. I base my errands and outings around getting a sandwich cookie on the weeks that they are serving them. I mean, all of the cookies are phenom. The toffee? You'll hurt yourself they're so good. The peanut butter cup-oatmeal magic she does? Instant addiction. But these sandwich cookies.. like for real- words can't describe. They are art and that buttercream is second to none. I even have a favorite way to eat each of the flavors! I know this sounds extreme but I am telling you! So good!! They have the perfect amount of salt to keep these rich magical babies in balance and make them more adult than other sandwich cookies. Go have one! Try all the flavors! Also get me one. haha Taryn's sandwich-cookie eating process for full flavor effect: Lemon poppyseed needs to be eaten straight-up like a sandwich. The molasses/gingerbready guy needs to have his top taken off and eaten alone. THEN eat the bottom part with the frosting on top. DROOL The chocolate peanut butter needs to go into your mouth like a wheel so its like cookie on the right and left and frosting in the middle. For real! Take one regular sandwich bite and then rotate that thing to wheel into your mouth as you bite and its going to change your life. The butterscotchish one in the pictures? You can eat that one ANY.WAY. and each bite will still be perfect.“

“I had a great Geisha coffee here yesterday. But moreover, the staff are very helpful and courteous towards their customers. I mistakenly parked in the Oru sushi restaurant across street because I thought they were affiliated businesses due to similar architecture and color. Two cool looking black buildings, how could they not be connected? When my car was parked there at the Oru, somebody crashed into it and left the scene when I was in the coffee shop and I did not see it. The sushi restaurant refused to provide the footage and told me it would be deleted in 14 days. However, Simply Coffie simply provided the footage in order to help me with my insurance claim. The footage shows my car arriving to Oru with no damage. And this is exactly why I'm coming back to their business and will never be a patron of the sushi restaurant across the street. So if you're having a fantastic geisha coffee at Simply and thinkin, boy, I'd really like some sushi and look across the street at Oru, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.“

“Excellent coffee and pastry options. Chef Catherine’s brownies and other goodies are out of this world! The selection of Beer, Wine and Spirits are perfect. You have the option of indoor a/c seating or outdoor breezy seating under wonderful shade trees. It’s a special spot in Houston!“

“I found this amazing Roaster last year when my love of coffee started. We had a group tasting which I highly recommend and my fascination of coffee and the beans has grown. Blendin has great baristas who take the time to listen and educate when you are asking for their recommendations. I don’t feel overwhelmed or scared to ask for something new. I always thought coffee was a simple pot but come to realize it’s an art. We come for the decaf which is a champion. Please read about it. You walk out of this coffee shop and feel relaxed from the experience. It’s unlike any other. And they have two locations! Please try and I challenge everyone to have a pour over. Whether you prefer your dessert to be super sweet, lightly sweet, intensely flavored, subtly flavored, cold, room temperature or hot, they've got you covered. You can buy all kinds of packaged snacks here in addition to their baked goods and ice cream. I'm a big fan of their ice cream and desserts that look like fruit (they're actually filled with fruit flavored mousse and fruit pieces)! If your tastes are more towards ridiculously sweet, then I'd recommend any of their tres leches, or if you like more subtle flavors or lightly sweet treats then I'd recommend the other cakes or baklava. They also have a freezer section with interesting imported drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and some delicious pre-packaged ice cream. As far as drinks go, their pistachio latte didn't do it for me, and I felt the tiramisu latte (with an ACTUAL chunk of tiramisu cake floating in it!) was a bit too decadent, but the pistachio frappuccino was pretty good. I would 100% recommend this as a great place to get dessert, whether you're on the go or want to stay a while chilling with a friend!“

“Went to Refuge Bar for a couple drinks and honestly ended up having such a great time. They do have a two hour limit on our table, but everything we tried was excellent and the bartenders were incredibly attentive the entire night.

They gave great recommendations from the start, and by the end of the night, after drink number four and a shot, we were blindly trusting them to just pick our drinks for us. Zero regrets.

I come here at least 4–5 times a week, and it has truly become part of my routine. The coffee quality is always excellent fresh, smooth, and consistent every single time.
What makes this place special for me is the staff. They are always kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which makes every visit feel comfortable.
The atmosphere is also very cozy and calm perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. And I have to mention, their avocado toast is absolutely amazing! I’m really happy I found this place and highly recommend it.“
