“Best little BBQ spot in Lockhart. Got a pound of every meat, a pint of every side and both desserts. Wow! The burnt ends were heavenly and the brisket just melted in the mouth. The sausage had a nicely melted cheese and jalapenos inside. It was amazing with the mustard based BBQ sauce. I wish they were serving their beef ribs. Will have to try that next time.“
“Good Friday, and we had a fantastic meal. I had the all-you-can-eat catfish, and the boss had the chopped brisket sandwich. Both were really good.The owner came by a couple of times to make sure we were good.If you are in Lockhart, TX, stop by, and you won't be disappointed.“
“had a really nice experience at black’s. you are hit with that smoke as you walk through the doors and start ordering! i enjoyed my brisket sandwich with mac in the side. tender and flavorful! staff was very friendly. would definitely recommend trying the pepper sauce if you like some heat!“
“I gave the food 4 stars not because it's not good mostly would like to see like more raw veggies spread instead of fried stuff or saurekraut. The food is good, just would be nice for those who eat more raw veggies to have an option for that.“
“I have been eating kreuz bbq for at least 50 years. Our dad would take us ti eat there at the original location. I remember the knives were chained to the tables and the salt and pepper were mixed together. No cutlery was provided not bbq sauce.“
“I don't like BBQ brisket. I think it is fatty and that grosses me out. But if it is Smitty's? I'll eat. It's just that good. This is my number one BBQ restaurant in the world. Luckily, I live close enough to be able to drive there and get some. Highly recommend.“
“Everyone is always so friendly here. The food is excellent and not over priced like most Bbq joints. The sausage is a true example of old fashioned Texas/Lockhart Bbq. The brisket has a good bark and is seasoned just right. The ribs are tender and you can taste the black pepper. Just like it should be. I definitely plan on making Maxwell Barbecue Co a weekly stop.“
