“Great food and friendly staff, fast service“

“I’ve been coming here since 2015, and after more than a decade it is still one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently fresh and beautifully prepared. The ginger dressing is hands-down the best I’ve ever had, the vegetables are perfectly cooked, and even the jasmine rice with toasted black sesame seeds shows the attention to detail they put into every meal. The staff is warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. Today they refilled my miso soup without me asking and even boxed my leftovers for me at the table—something I usually only experience in fine dining restaurants. And all of that, including iced tea, came to under $17. This place is an absolute gem.“

They also have a huge variety of fish, not found at other sushi restaurants!

“I love sushi, and the food at this restaurant is very good. The ingredients are also very fresh. The most important thing to eat Japanese food is the freshness of the ingredients. Especially raw food. The sushi at this restaurant is quite delicious. The combination of soy sauce and rice, in addition to fresh ingredients. It is simply delicious. “First time dining at Kichi bar and we’ll definitely be back! Inside it looks very elegant and crisp. Our waitress was very attentive and offered plenty of suggestions based off what we wanted to order. Booking reservations does help as there’s not a lot of tables and got busy quickly nearing 6pm.

The sushi itself was reasonably priced for the quality. Favorite picks were salmon, sea bream, and hotate. The gyu-toro was our top dish as the meat was soft and full of flavor. Honorable mentions have to go to the cocktails, uni pasta, and mushroom risotto.“

“Musume at The Star is an awesome spot. The vibe is stylish but still comfortable, so it works just as well for a casual night out as it does for a special dinner. The sushi is super fresh, the hot dishes are packed with flavor, and the cocktails are on point.

Very small which makes it personal but also comes with the caveat that there may not be seating. Probably one of best places I have been. “My husband and I really enjoyed our experience here! We’ve been to Japan multiple times and it’s hard to find a good quality ramen place that tastes similar to the ramen in Japan. Akira Ramen did not disappoint!

We both got the spicy garlic chicken ramen and the broth was so flavorful, and it was loaded with chicken! The eggs fell apart perfectly, and the bamboo shoots were so tender.

Our server was very nice and filled our waters multiple times while we were there, which I feel is rare to have a server notice things like that!

“Our family of four stopped in for dinner last night to try out our new neighborhood spot and it was so good! The inside is nicely decorated and they have tables and floor tables for dining. The kids got a big kick out of sitting on floor pillows for dinner. The menu is extensive with Korean and Japanese items — including hibachi and sushi! Everything is reasonably priced and is meant to be a fast casual dine-in or takeout spot. So Carrollton folks — if you find yourself going to Sushi Kadan or another neighborhood joint — try this one out too! We have another spot for a tasty and healthy dinner. Kid friendly too! Support local!“

“Everything we ate was fresh and delicious! My order was promptly taken and we sat down with our drinks. The interior is super clean and the ambience is calm. The value for the money spent is unmatched, the portion was perfect for me as well. The chicken teriyaki was juicy and flavorful with a hint of char-grilled goodness. The macaroni was fresh and light and the cabbage salad was wonderfully crunchy and a nice contrast in texture. My only regret is not ordering more food for takeout. TLDR: Get you some teriyaki and be happy! 5 star experience.“

Even though we visited on a busy Friday night, our server Zico was fantastic—attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The staff was warm and accommodating, making us feel welcome. We enjoyed the ishiyaki and sashimi tasting, and the freshness of the fish was remarkable. The wagyu was also an exceptional treat, well worth the price. They also have amazing cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal. We often stop at various sushi restaurants and this experience was truly one to remember. “We came across this place after visiting the farmers market and weren’t really sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by how good the sushi rolls were!

We ordered the Cajun Edamame, Ex-Girlfriend Roll, High Maintenance Roll, Angry Husband Roll, and Something Wrong Roll. Everything came out quickly, was well presented, and tasted really good. My favorites were definitely the Angry Husband and Ex-Girlfriend rolls. The menu also has a really good variety of dishes, so there’s plenty to choose from.

The service was great as well. We went during the day at a quieter, off-peak time, and the waiters were really nice and welcoming. They checked in on us throughout the meal to make sure we liked everything and to see if we needed anything else, without being overbearing.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. We sat in one of the booths, which was comfortable, although the seat fabric was pretty ripped and could definitely use replacing. Other than that, we really enjoyed the overall ambiance.
