“Spectacular in every way. Chad, Kip, and their entire staff go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience. I met them for the first time catering a wedding (I am also a vendor). Their catered food was out of this world. So good that I had to make the drive to Newport News to eat in the restaurant. To say they delivered would be an understatement. James at the bar makes the most delicious, creative, elaborate cocktails. The Blood Oath was my favorite! Their fried oysters were our favorite dish— crispy and a little spicy! The duck was so unique, sweet and savory, and cooked excellently. My husband is now obsessed with their banana foster cheesecake. Everything we had was truly perfect and we are so impressed. We will be loyal fans of Circa 1918 for life!“

“What an amazing experience at the Indulge Bakery and Bistro. I will always love coming here with my wife to enjoy the best breakfast Virginia has to offer! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff matches the energy of it well. Everything about this place is a 5/5 making you remember that home cooked meal that you would either wake up to or have later on in your day. It’s amazing and makes me wonder how. “Port Arthurs is my favorite Chinese Restaurant. I love the fact that they are locally owned and have been here for as long as I can remember . They are a staple in Newport News and never disappoint. “Knowledge staff and delicious food. The fish of the day was fresh and well prepared. They were conscious about what silverware was needed for each course and set the table accordingly. It was well paced between drinks, appetizers, entree, and dessert. Would recommend it for a casual meal or celebration.“

“Thai Papaya is excellent reasonably priced food. The Thai family who runs it are very nice people and they will absolutely not hold back on the spice if you ask them. I was in Yunnan province China so I know spicy food well. They do a good job.
The papaya salad is excellent and so is the drunken noodle.
I will be back just to talk with the gentleman running the place again. He's a nice man.

“In these post-covid times of it being virtually impossible to eat out for less than $15 First Wok is an exception to the seemingly new rule. The lunch and dinner combos gotta be one of the best bang-for-your-bucks in the area. You’re telling me I can get a beef and broccoli, pork fried rice, and an egg roll for $10.25 (dinner combo)???? Boneless spare ribs, vegetable fried rice, and wonton soup for $8.25 (lunch combo)??? That’s insane value.
Additionally, who would have thought that a Chinese restaurant would become my go to chicken wing spot? Wings have become exorbitantly expensive everywhere but again, First Wok remains the exception. Their garlic sauce wings are SO GOOD. I spooned the leftover sauce into my gullet like an animal. Don’t get started on the chicken wing combos either… 8 wings + chicken fried rice for $10.55 is a steal.“

“I ordered a family meal. The general tso chicken was very good, enjoyed the heat and it wasn’t overly salty. I liked that there was a choice of rice! The hibachi was delicious, vegetables fresh, crisp and the meat tender. The chicken soba noodles were excellent with a nice ratio of meat and noodles but a little salty. The last item in the family meal was egg rolls. They were crispy but not a fan of the mushy inside. That won’t stop me from ordering their food again. I’m a fan!“
