“Highly recommend! Great menu, great homestyle cooking. And huge portions. Unbelievable meatloaf, and it’s massive. Two can share and still have leftovers! Wonderful Shepards pie. Well prepared sides (potatoes and veg). Nice little restaurant, very clean and funky decor. Very nice folks work there. Really want to go back to try the sandwiches.“
“(I received an email stating they had extended the Garden of Lights and that they offer a mobility shuttle on value nights. )This was a perfect opportunity to enjoy some lights with my husband, and bring another family member who otherwise wouldn't have been able to walk the entire route. The mobility shuttle is included in the price of admission, however one must contact the office to make reservations. They have a limited number of seats on the tram and will assign you a row ( each row has four seats). We had to arrive between 4:30-4:45pm to check in at the visitor center. The tram left at 5pm to tour the entire route of the lights at a good leisurely pace. It took roughly 30 minutes to complete the route. Since it wasn't completely dark when we started the tour of lights, the first half/three fourths weren't as magical and twinkly & sparkly as i'm sure it looks when it's completely dark and the lights illuminate with such fervor and vibrancy. We did enjoy the lights and they are a beautiful, mystical electrical sight, however we weren't able to witness it's full spectacular until the last part of the tour. It would have been a 5 star experience had they started the tram later for better visibility of the holiday lights. I'm guessing several reasons the tram starts right when the lights open are due to high foot traffic during open hours which isn't conducive for a tram to navigate, the other being for everyone's safety. Maybe the idea of starting much later would present additional safety and challenge issues with loading/unloading people on the tram due to lower visibility. If logistically and economically possible, maybe next winter season they can push the opening time a little later to accommodate for sundown and have portable floodlights surrounding the tram area for loading and unloading if those are partly the reasons? If at all?I think it's wonderful they strive to be all encompassing, as everyone should be able to enjoy the outdoors, especially without having to be concerned about navigating the logistics of a desired activity/event. Staff were safe, expeditious, efficient and friendly! Make sure to dress according to the weather, it's an open tram. We made sure we had hats, layers on, including long johns. That night was so frigid and even being bundled up I could still feel the cold creeping through. When we visited, we arrived early prior to check in & loading. It would have been helpful or appreciated if staff had offered /suggested to visitors the food vendor availability & location information to utilize that wait time for us to grab some hot drinks and snacks. We didn't see the food vendors until everyone went outside to load. Nor did anyone else. My husband was a tad irritated that he didn't know he had an option to get some drinks & snacks from Bear house coffee, duck donuts and another vendor prior.“
“First time customer.. food was delicious.. there was quite a wait for service b/c they were super busy. I had the JV burger & poutine.. great meal.. worth the wait for sure. Prices are pretty much in line with other sandwich places but the quality here is above average for sure. Highly recommend this place for fresh, hot & delicious food!Parking: Small parking lot & this place gets super busy but there is a vacant spot next door that u can park in & walk over.“
“There food is very good. A coworker called ahead and my food was ready when I got there. They provide service with a smile. The sandwich, chips and a drink are a little pricey unless you get a the sandwich meal of the day. I will go back again.“
“We really enjoyed this place. This my first time but my boyfriend raved about it so we went there. The food was on point; sandwich was cooked perfectly! Steak was super thin and cheese was melted perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place❤“
“One Saturday afternoon, my husband and I decided to visit the Virginia Cheese Co. Initially, from the outside, the shop seemed closed, but upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised. The quaint and cute interior, along with the friendly staff, immediately won us over. Despite the chairs being flipped for cleaning, we felt welcomed. We found ourselves torn between the various decadent sandwich options on the menu, but a helpful worker guided us through the selection process, offering recommendations and modifications. I opted for the Provolone Amore on La Brioche baguette, while my husband went for The French Quarter. We couldn't resist pairing our sandwiches with some eye-catching and mouth-watering chip flavors - Iberian ham for me, honey sriracha for him. As we waited for our sandwiches, we explored the shop, discovering a variety of local ingredients and foods. When our meals arrived, they were beautifully presented, and the flavors didn't disappoint. Each bite left us eager to return for more culinary adventures. Overall, the Virginia Cheese Co. offers a calm, inviting atmosphere and delicious food. We're already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend it to everyone looking for a comforting and delightful dining experience.“
“We came in late not realizing it was so near closing time. We felt they were glad to wait on us and even told us not to hurry. It was so nice to go somewhere we really felt welcomed and the staff was glad to serve us. The food was excellent as usual. The crew that was working late on 3/7 deserve praise from their bosses. This is a crew that is very polite, and make people want to return.“
“I love the name "Regular Ass Sandwich" lol. I think they used to have their own building, but now they share with Handsome Biscuit. The staff were super nice and fast. We got the chicken salad sandwich and guess what, it was a regular ass sandwich. I'm a little picky with my chicken salad to be honest, but they had the perfect ratio. The potato salad was yummy as well, creamy! I would totally go here again! Especially when I'm craving a hearty sandwich that feels like home. We also got fruit roll ups on the side just to add to the 2000s feel. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it didn't wow me with flavor. It was good for sure, but nothing crazy. There is also no in person location so that makes me sad.Overall, thank you for the food! A good meal!“
“My husband and I love Greater Grinders! He had a steak and cheese. I had a Greater Grinder (added sweet and hot peppers...mmm!) The toasted bread is the best! The seasoning and oil and vinegar take it to another level. We had a whole sub and neither of us could finish it, even though we really wanted to. The price is really reasonable too!Parking: The lot is not a large lot, but it seems to be ample parking.“
“The owners are very nice considering their store is in downtown Norfolk and having to deal with the homeless, cheap no tipping blk ppl, and the entitled who have moved into the condos that have now blocked the view of Waterside. The wife is very cultured and personable. Won't accept my tips but she says she's been franchising Subway for 35 years and is happy with her life.( in other words she's saying she manages and is well off financially)“
“I’ve eaten a lot of sandwiches, but this place definitely has the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. My favorite is the Roast Beef French Dip sandwich. I’m from out of town and will definitely lobby to get a Which Wich where I live. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.“
“This place is tucked away in a Citgo gas station. I ordered the recommended Philly cheese steak and seasoned fries. Let me start off by saying that the sandwich was amazing. The steak and cheese was fresh out the kitchen and the bread had a good crisp. This place was kinda busy when I was there around lunch time, but it was well worth the wait. Next time I'm craving a philly, I'll be going back.“
“They still have great subs, the employees are a little less desirable... I say this because the recipe for the subs are great, the lack luster of the employees just do not make a "WOW" experience. I just wished when I was there and they were making my subs, it might have been all about me or just put a little of a personal touch on the customer service. I guess it is hard to find good help nowadays.“

“The food is outstanding using all fresh ingredients and the staff is absolutely fantastic. It is always a joy and pleasure going in there. Fast easy and pleasant, you really can't ask for anything more than that.Parking: Just pull up in front of Jersey Mike's and park. Fast easy and free.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes this location is wheelchair accessible. ♿️“
“The food here is amazing compared to other Firehouse's I've been to but the staff and management team are even better. Customers are viewed as people and issues are addressed without prompting for resolution, if I could give more stars I would because they are just that fantastic.“
“One of our SPECIAL joints for a takeout meal. Service and meal options are ALWAYS on time. The staff greets us in the most friendly manner EVERY time we visit!!! It is like coming home!!! We make it one of our FAVORITE destinations for a sub or bowl meal.“
“I had the most great experience at this Subway. The staff was awesome. They provided me and my mom with great customer service. She's an older lady and a handful. And they were very patient with her as she placed her order. They made her happy and that's a plus in my book!“
“On this stormy day finishing up my long weekend I was craving a spicy all beef sub from Chicago. But alas I was no where near. So in my pursuit of this food through rain and crazy Virginia drivers, I found this place. When I walked in I was greeted by three workers: Javi, Hanna, and Anthony. These three were fantastic and hard workers. After asking each their favorite sub I chose Anthony to make it. He made me a #43 and to make it how he likes it, but spicy. Let me tell you it hit the craving I longed for. Such rich flavor, just spicy enough to keep you going back for more. Like when a woman bites your lips during a kiss. Absolutely wonderful. Their boss should be Absolutely proud of these three and are quality employees that go above and beyond.“
“Simply the best sandwich shop in town. Food is awesome. Too many good sandwiches to choose a favorite. Start at the beginning of the menu then order the next sandwich down each time you come back till you hit the end. Then REPEAT!!!Make sure you sit on the saddle once. :)Four Horseman is my most recent!! YUM!!“
