Absolutely love Sushi On in Edmonds! We’ve been coming here regularly, and a big reason is the outstanding service from Jenny. She is always incredibly friendly, attentive, and makes us feel genuinely welcome every single time. Because of her excellent service, this place has become a spot we visit almost every week.

We even brought my parents here, and they couldn’t stop complimenting the food and the service. Everything is consistently fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Sushi on Edmonds never disappoints, and we always leave happy and satisfied. Highly recommend this place, especially if Jenny is taking care of you!“

“I usually come to dine-in at this restaurant when I'm getting car repair done at the nearby mechanic and I would say this is a great place to eat if you are able to stop by.

The portions for the rice and meats is great and service staff are very friendly. Only downsides is the food is a little more salty and it is a little difficult to find parking for the restaurant.“

“Came here after Willingdon Church since it’s across the street. It looked kind of empty and inside so I didn't have high expectations, but the food was actually really good! The sushi rolls we got were Alaska, red, and munch roll. To my surprise, the Alaska roll was my favourite! We also got a beef udon soup that was really delicious and bigger than I expected. We'll definitely come back regularly.“

“My family has been long time customers of Kilala. We were hopeful the new owners would continue making the delicious sushi we had become accustomed to.
The new owner has hired great staff that provide excellent customer service and the restaurant atmosphere is great. Unfortunately for my taste, the sushi has changed. The rice doesn't taste seasoned and the texture was dry and chewy.
I'm not sure we will return despite wanting to support local business.
I put four stars for their effort and I'm sure a lot of people will still enjoy the sushi. I just am too particular with my sushi.“

“Hidden gem in Burnaby North, best Japanese/Korean venue on Hastings in Burnaby. Definitely the best tempuras in Lower Mainland that I've ever eaten; light and crispy thin batter, not greasy at all. Restaurant overall cleanliness well maintained, convenient parking, exceptionally pleasant and attentive staff. Highly recommended for anyone wishing a happy meal with friends or families for reasonable pricing for similar venues in area.“

“They’re one of the few sushi places in this area that offer vegetarian sushi options, which is such a nice find. My friend and I tried their sushi, and the portions were very generous—we were super full!

The fried items were also really good, and the oil tasted clean with no greasy aftertaste, which made everything feel lighter and more enjoyable. The sushi held together well and was nicely filled, and there were plenty of options on the menu. Since my friend is vegetarian, we tried several vegetarian choices.

“This is a small cozy restaurant to have homey food. I’ve been eating here for many years. The food is good and the owner is very kind and friendly. Although some dishes could take time to prepare, as they get quite busy, the food is very filling, as opposed to the expensive, out-of-place Stem restaurant next door.

I will continue to return to Makoto for their food, and to support local mom and pop store.“

“I had ordered catering from here for a large group of approximately 20 people, and it was more than enough food for such a reasonable price. We ordered; Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura, Vegetable Tempuras, Spring Rolls, Sashimi, Sushi rolls and Chicken Karage.

The communication with Robin was amazing.. service was amazing, and they delivered the food to us. They also gave PLENTY of sauces which we appreciate.

“I was a regular when I worked close by about 7 years ago and my absolute favourite was the oyster motoyaki. Up to this day I go back for it commute for an hour or drive for half.

Recently I have been into chirashi dons and whenever we eat out trying different restaurants that has been my order. Tonight I’ve tried their chirashi don and it was absolutely good — the variety, freshness, taste and all! And I love how the’ve changed the plating of the oyster motoyaki to include a crispy bread. I didn’t know oyster motoyaki could be better. Takowasabi was such a treat as well and even the grilled tuna roll my husband ordered.

Definitely coming back again to try everything else and of course my new addition to my favourites!“

“Love the design, love the staff who are super friendly, fair prices, great food, 15% off at happy hour! (which we haven't hit yet) We've been here 3 times in the last month. The sushi is very good for the price you pay, which is why we visit so often. You can find better sushi but they'll charge you an arm and a leg for it. Nemo has good sushi at a great price and awesome staff. We'll be back soon!!

“Wonderful place to get sushi and favourite dishes like how they serve them in Japan. The assorted sushi option is a very good deal for the variety and quality of the fish. Incredible variety and each piece is intentionally plated and assembled with care. Plus it’s clear that it’s well prepared by the chef. Bluefin negitoro was a bit too fishy for me, but some may enjoy that flavour. I believe it was too close to the bloodline. Highlights were the shishito tempura and beef tataki. In fact, the tataki was the best I’ve ever had in my life! Their tempura is so light and fresh, that we ordered multiple plates of the shishito peppers. The plates used are absolutely beautiful and it’s clear that presentation and integrity are core values here.

They had so many unique items like shirako and several unique fish from Japan. I do wish they used real wasabi, as the nigiri was a touch too heavy handed for my taste. Absolutely recommend for those looking for something more traditional and elegant.“

“This Sushi establishment in Burnaby is, by local standards, rather a cut above.

The quality is genuinely commendable, and while the prices sit at the higher end for Burnaby, one does feel the exchange is fair. This is not one of those establishments where the sushi arrives in heroic proportions, engineered more for spectacle than for eating. Mercifully, the pieces here resemble proper Japanese sushi, balanced, restrained, and sized for civilised bites rather than jaw dislocation.

The fish is fresh, the rice properly seasoned, and the overall execution refreshingly free of gimmicks. One can actually taste the ingredients instead of wrestling with them.

Burnaby is not always synonymous with refinement in sushi, but Takara does make a rather convincing case for itself.“

My usual would be a teriyaki bento meal with a kappa roll, and every single time I have been met with the smell of delicious food and really good taste. “I’ve been coming here over the years and it’s one of my favourite local sushi spots! The food is great, the staff are friendly and it’s reasonably priced!

I always get the dynamite and BC rolls here, today I tried the Dragon Roll and the Crispy n Crunch roll and it was really tasty, crunchy and delicious. I’d highly recommend the dragon roll with eel, it’s nice!

“Ordered the pork katsu with curry sauce on the side and the takoyaki, and they were both better than what I expected from food-court food! Katsu was crispy, and takoyaki was only $10 for eight and not soggy unlike a lot of other places. Only thing I’d like to change would be that the curry sauce didn’t have a strong curry taste and was instead more salty.“

I was concerned that I wouldn't get enough wasabi cuz another sushi place combined 4 sushi roll orders into one take out container but only gave me one blob of wasabi and ginger. So I made sure to order for "2" people when i order sushi so this does not happen

KIKU give huge wasabi blob one was enough for the meal. Gave lots of soy sauce (8 packets) plenty of napkins.

Very big thick slices of sashimi Assorted Sashimi ( 18 pcs) I was very worried as another place gave me thin tiny pieces I was hungry afterwards. KIKU gives big slices (if you chop the sashimi in half, stack it, your bite of food is size of fancy mega sushi rolls) very fresh (not fishy) arrived nice and cold, nicely displayed in take out box (sorry too hungry to take photo of take out containers) Spicy Salmon Roll was amazing and little larger bite than most spicy rolls I was happy and stuffed. $54 including tax.“

“TOGO Sushi SFU is probably the best sushi option on top of Burnaby Mountain. The rolls are filling, affordable compared to nearby restaurants, and the interior of the restuarant is clean and bright. I have always had a good interactions with staff and orders come out timely. Solid spot!“

“I have been going to Sushi Garden for as long as I can remember starting with the original one at Metrotown. Because that got so busy, they open one by Brentwood. And before you know it, another location by Highgate opened. When you go just before lunch or dinner, you don't need to wait. I can't remember if you can make reservations or not, but it wouldn't matter as the whole party needs to be there before seated (which I quite love because some people don't show and they take up un-needed tables!). Today, we didn't order as much as usual, but ended up getting the Salmon Sashimi (always fresh and delicious); BC Combo which includes a BC roll, an Alaska roll, one salmon nigiri, and one tuna nigiri; one chopped scallop nigiri the Kaki Fry (aka deep-fried oyster), Pan-Fried Gyoza, Chicken Kaarage, Prawn Tempura, Agedashi Tofu, Dynamite Roll, California Roll — All their foods are great from Gomae, Wakame Tako Yaki, Croquette, any rolls and many more.... the food do come out quickly, the staff are attentive and plenty of free parking in their parking lot or on the streets. Come and grab a hot cup of green tea as soon as you seated!“
