“First visit to Steve’s Poké Bar – Ladner, and I’m already planning to come back!
I tried the small bowl for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were so fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and everything was prepared with care. The portion size was just right, and the bowl looked as good as it tasted.

The staff at the Ladner location were super friendly and helpful. As it was my first time, they patiently explained the options and helped me build a bowl I really enjoyed. Their welcoming attitude and great service made the experience even better.

We sat outside, the weather was nice. Reservations were for 7pm and we were seated immediately.

“If you love seafood, this place is fantastic. Been there plenty of times and my personal favourite is oysters, dumplings and hand cut noodles. They gave really good marinated items as well like duck and salmon. Oysters are always fresh. This is one place i ate seafood where I haven't had an upset tummy.
Happy hour items are really good price as well.

“I went to The Regalia Restaurant because they advertised having authentic Hong Kong-style chicken hot pot (香港雞煲) — something I’ve been craving for years.
I’ve been in Canada for 12 years, and while about 98% of Hong Kong flavors can be found here, the true Hong Kong chicken hot pot has always been missing. Naturally, I had to give this place a try.
The restaurant environment is quite nice, and based on what I read online, it’s fairly new and run by people with real Hong Kong roots. Unfortunately, the chicken hot pot didn’t quite deliver. It looked right, but the taste was off. Instead of the complex, layered flavors you get from a chicken hot pot with a house-made sauce, this version was dominated by a strong shacha (沙茶) sauce flavor. It wasn’t bad — the dish was fine to eat — but it didn’t feel carefully crafted or close to the authentic Hong Kong taste I’ve been searching for.
On the other hand, their deep-fried salt & pepper grouper was excellent! It tasted truly authentic and very satisfying, especially since fresh ocean fish is hard to find in my hometown — Toronto. At $38.75 for one order, the portion was generous and felt like great value.
Given the price, if I had to choose between the grouper and the stir-fried clams, the grouper definitely feels like the much better deal.

“Right across from City Hall! Came here with the team and we all had a great time. The food was super fresh and tasty, the place was clean and comfy, and the staff were really friendly. Great spot for family or work dinners, especially if you love seafood!“

“We had a fantastic dim sum experience about a year ago at a different location, which was helped by having a large group of 20—plenty of dishes to sample. This time, it was just the three of us, so we kept it light with six dishes. Unfortunately, the Thai-style chicken feet didn’t go over well with the family—the strong vinegar flavor and unusual texture were a far cry from the traditional braised and steamed version that’s typically tender and flavorful. That said, the rest of the dishes were enjoyable and tasted freshly made, which definitely elevated the overall quality.

Prices are noticeably higher than what we’re used to in Seattle, though we haven’t tried other spots in the area yet. That said, the portion sizes here are nearly double, which helps justify the cost. Service didn’t quite match the upscale feel of the restaurant, but we didn’t encounter any issues. And even without a reservation, we were seated right away.

Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience.

“I'm not really sure why this place has low ratings. I have been coming here for the past decade or so. Always delicious food and great service. They cook food with a lot of "wok hey". I recommend the sweet and sour pork, stir fry pea sprouts (dou miu), scallop egg white fried rice, soya sauce chicken was the best, and their fried fish. Dessert was yummy too - green bean sweet soup with taro. Haven't had that in a very long time. This is a hidden canto gem in Richmond. Highly recommend!!

We tried the hot and sour fish soup, which was packed with tender fish and fresh vegetables—full of bold, tangy flavor with a good spicy kick. We originally had our eyes on the scallops, but they were sold out, so we went with the clams in black bean sauce instead. No regrets—they were meaty, flavorful, and well-cooked.

The real standout for us was the fried rice. It had incredible flavor and that unmistakable wok hay that’s hard to find.

“Tucked in a tiny corner mall in SE Van is this authentic Cantonese/ chinese restaurant. With its unassuming and humble front door, the food is surprisingly authentic and delicious! Prices are average for their portion sizes. The 2 noodle dishes I got (dry-fried beef rice noodle and Singapore style vermicelli) have strong wok flavor ("wok hei"). Their baked tapioca pudding is made when ordered, so it takes time, but it's to die for! Apparently, they also have dim sum during lunch, so I'll try it next time! All in all, surprisingly good authentic flavors, super friendly staff, and convenient!

“The number of authentic Chinese food where I live in the states is a rather sad amount, hence why we drive for a while to a whole different country for some hella authentic food.
Been going here for many years, quality has never changed; definitely the go-to spot for Dim Sum. Sure, there might be runner-ups, but their vibes just aren't the same.

Atmosphere: see, what I mean by vibes are the carts that wheel the Dim Sum by, the long wait lines (you got people lining up even at three or four o'clock), and the owner somehow managing to bid a customer goodbye, take an order, and holler out a name for the next person up in line to come on up.

Service: ooh, might I also mention, best to call in and reserve a spot ahead of time. That might cut down your wait time from half to one hour to the five to fifteen minutes I usually have to wait. Since it's so busy, do expect a slight delay in service if you want to order something specific or get your tea refilled. It's alright, it's understandable. Oh, also, they do take extra requests! For example, my family and I don't like stuff too heavy on salt or oil, so we asked if we could get the fried beef noodles (干炒牛河粉) with less salt and oil, it did come waaay lighter. Thanks!

Food: now... if I were to write down every single food and my corresponding rating, I might hit the review character limit... just trust me on this! You can't go wrong with anything, so whether you're looking for an authentic vibe and experience or you have zero idea what to try, you really can't go wrong! Everything's amazing.

“This original sea harbour location was located on number 3 road across from yaohan. Sea harbour is known for luxurious Chinese fine dining. They had also won awards and their culinary team is very elite. I decided to have dimsum here when their doors open.

The dining room is extremely luxurious and eye popping. Service here is absolutely amazing. I loved their menu because they have items that alot of other traditional dim sum places don't offer. I really enjoyed their sticky wild rice wrap. The texture is lovely and fragrant. The scallop soup dumplings were so supple and savoury. The crazy roll was fresh and great too, I suggest to add creamcheese if you like creamcheese. I noticed it's a mix of japanese and korean dishes, which is perfect.

I can confidently say this is the highest quality omakase I’ve had in Vancouver—better than the two Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants I’ve tried before. The only thing I think could be improved is that the flavors were a bit on the salty side. If they were a touch milder, it would better highlight the freshness of the ingredients. “Had the pleasure to go yesterday! Me and my partner went super early so there wasn't much people there. Great place as well. Decor and atmosphere wise wasn't anything amazing but definitely welcoming. Staff and the restaurant manager (I presume) were very friendly. Gave suggestions and explained things as well. The Salmon noodle was really good. Both my partner and I loved it as it was really fresh. The sauce was lovely as well! That sauce they make can literally go with anything! Except for the sashimi and the sushi of course. The fried oysters really hit me as well as it was washed very cleanly and had no bitter taste or chewiness to it. This place is not a big place so a group of more than 8 might be a bit hard to accommodate but definitely doable. The only thing that I couldn't find was a reservation button so hopefully as time progresses they can have a reservation button that can be done online! Wish this restaurant the best of luck and hopefully they grow more!“
