“This was our first experience with Ugly Duckling and we were very impressed with the knowledge of the staff explaining how each dish was made, including the particular wine pairing. Each dish was a work of art and enhanced the taste experience along with the processes used for creating the delicate combination of flavours. The atmosphere, the staff's cheerful, elegant engagement with our guests, and their patience with our "foody" friend that wanted to learn of every detail of every dish was sooo appreciated. The intimate, calmly paced serving of the many dishes was such a treat to truly enjoy the whole experience - the restaurant atmosphere, the educated and friendly servers, including the chef visiting our table and cheerfully engaging in our foody friend grilling him for more details on the dish preparations was such a welcome and new dining experience for the four of us. Included in the experience was the restaurant following up by phone prior to our reservation reconfirming specific food alerts for one of our guests, and the surprise special birthday presentation to one of our other guests was the perfect ending to an amazing experience! “we always enjoy the welcoming atmosphere where the staff greet you like you have been missed. We appreciate that we come very often and they are always glad to see us. This also includes the owner, as well as all the staff. We have not had a bad meal yet and eat their often. The food is always very good and authentic. It is a very clean and professional site and the drinks are above par. Most ingredients are made in house and the staff and owners work together constantly to improve their game, try new things. Always impressed at the Palms. Always feel special at the Palms. We will continue making this our home away from home!“

“Our family got together with some friends that visited Victoria for the day. They came up from Seattle with the Clipper, and arrived in time for lunch. Milestones is a short walk from the ferry and has great views of the inner harbour. The staff was very accommodating for our large group (8). The service was good, the food and drinks were enjoyed by our whole group. Thanks for looking after us and helping to make our get together even better! If you're visiting in summer there's also nice outdoor seating excellent for people watching. Please note that it does get quite busy in summer with tourists and locals alike because of the amazing location.“

“We went around 2:15 and got a table right away with the knowledge that it was reserved for 530. That was absolutely fine.
Our waitress GRACE was so amazing and friendly and there when we needed her. I enjoyed having such a happy, friendly server. Also there before we needed to be refreshed.

“I finally decided to have dinner here. The Finnie burger is the best I've tried in Canada. Switch the fries for the truffled ones and you'll be delighted. The place is nice but a little dark. Fast service during a busy time is greatly appreciated.“

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my birthday last night at the rooftop patio at The Met, and I’m still buzzing from how incredible it was! 🌟

They were hosting an amazing Mexican themed party, and it just so happened to be my birthday talk about perfect timing! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond for everyone, but especially for me. They were constantly checking in, making sure we were comfortable (even bringing us heaters when the wind picked up!), and truly made me feel so special.

The food was fantastic, the drinks were top-notch, and the atmosphere was full of energy and fun. We even won prizes, enjoyed free food and drinks, and to top it all off — they surprised me with a birthday cake. 🎂

I honestly can’t say enough great things about this place. The staff made the night unforgettable, and I’ll absolutely be back. I’ll also be telling all my friends because if you’re looking for a fun, vibrant, and welcoming spot for a celebration or night out, The Met’s rooftop patio is it.“

“We enjoyed our date night! We went to see a documentary at IMAX and decided to walk over to the Merriott for a bite. We had not been back to Fire + Water since Dine Around Town a few years ago. We like the atmosphere and style of the resturant. It is quiet which allows
for good conversation. I had a delicious apple martini - a yummy boozy apple pie. My husband had the Mescal Negroni. So fun! Our entrees were delicious. Pork chops and wild sockeye salmon with the chefs choice of vegetables. And of course we had to share the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. If you’re looking for a quiet romantic dinner out in Victoria , this is a gem.“

“Went to milestones for there winter creations and they did not disappoint the short braised beef was yummy the apple porkchops was amazing highly recommend but the best part the cherry on top was the maple syrup creme brule it is soooooo good best dessert I've had all year they need permanently add it to the menu definitely recommend the dessert over everything but everything was yummy and the drinks and service were great“

“BBE. Best Birthday Ever. Friends took me to 1550's for beer and wings for my birthday. I love chicken wings and the selection here is awesome and delicious. Keith the owner wished me Happy Birthday and promised NOT to have the crew sing to me!Highly recommended by someone who's been enjoying chicken for five and a half decades and beer for slightly less. Mmmm, Dark Matter Beer!

“Stopped by the bar about 30min before closing to grab a quick take out of BLT salad and soft pretzel bites. Since I was one of two customers in the bar service was pretty darn quick.

Once we got what we ordered we left and ate along the way home. The BLT was mostly iceberg lettuce, not a fan and a small bit of bacon stuffed into a corner, a bit disappointed. The pretzel bites were fine except the sauce was not for me, I'm sure it would be acceptable for 90% of people, but for me it tasted a bit off.

Aside from the food the service was fantastic. Freindly and helpful. Think I will swing by next time I'm in town when I can spend some time to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a proper meal.“

“This is a bit more mainstream than the places I like to eat. But what can I say? I always end up coming here. I travel a lot for work and there always seems to be a brown social House close to my hotel.
I usually end up there just by elimination and I'm never disappointed.
Of course I'm always looking for something weird and out of the ordinary, but there is something to be said about the reliable . Browns is that.
I always get the blackened chicken fediccini because it's always good and enough food .
Staff is always pleasant .
I am a typical middle aged bar Parton , heading in after a long day for dinner before bed .
Sometimes the servers face is the only smile I'll see all day . I don't think she is in love with me or we are going to hook up . It's just basic warmth , human comfort . I really do appreciate it .
There's always a spot at the bar ,
There's always a cold beer
There's always a warm server .
To top it off - started in North van , that's a home grown fanchies , and that's a forsure right on .“

“We are quite happy with Boom & Batten. We love the food, the view as well as the atmosphere, for the most part. One of the issues is what makes my husband feel uncomfortable while we are trying to enjoy dining. The choice of music is not suited at all to fine dining. It is so unpleasant that my husband asks to leave as fast as we can & at times, he prefers another restaurant. We have mentioned it few times but nothing changes. Gentler music would enhance our experience considerably. The other disappointment is mine. I love the grilled cauliflower for either breakfast with two poached, for lunch with the beet & goat cheese salad. I enjoy it for dinner as well. The unfortunate part is that the portion I am served lately is barely more than half of what I was served a mere 6 mos ago. I am always left wanting more.“

“My husband and I were visiting from Vancouver and spent the afternoon working at this coffee shop. The service was efficient as we noticed that the tables were cleaned right after patrons left and the coffee was well-made. We had flat whites! The brownies and lemon squish were so good! The atmosphere and seating was also very comfortable! Good job! We will visit again. Great coffee!“

“We did a private event for 38 people at this restaurant and it was exceptional! I would highly recommend this venue for a small wedding, corporate event or private celebration. Ellie (event planner) and Grant were fantastic and helping to make sure that every little detail was taken care of from the canapies, to the drink selection and food. Everything was exactly as we had dreamed it would be. The food was excellent, the servers were exceptional and Ellie made planning so easy. The flowers at the venue were beautiful and we appreciate Grant making the effort to assist us with planning our entertainment and having the Bluetooth speaker available. Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely.

Thank you so much for making our 30th anniversary so memorable! I have tons of beautiful, colourful photos… But can not share because there are people in the photos. We had the patio in the evening with the fire going and they had the buffet set up inside …everything was amazing. They even had a large bouquet of fresh flowers in the bathroom.“

“We just had lunch legendary burger and fish and chips at the White spot which we have missed so much. The waitress "Jade" was so amazing, fun, respectful, efficient, just plain happy which certainly cheered us too. Food was excellent and what big pieces of cod too. Thank you, we will be back“

“My husband popped in for lunch. He had the burger & fries - both were delicious. I had the chicken salad sandwich and soup. The soup was really spicy, tasted a bit like curry. I couldn't eat it but my husband enjoyed it. The chicken salad sandwich was disappointing. The chicken salad was mostly sauce, way too much. You couldn't even taste the chicken. The apple slices were mealy and the arugula was old and wilted. The foccacia bread it was on was good but overall it wasn't good.“

“Decent place to come for a meal. Nothing amazing but everything is good. The burgers are above average and the steak was rather chewy, but cooked nicely. Objectively I would give white spot food 7/10. Staff was very helpful and friendly 10/10 for staff. The deserts however are amazing! The apple pie and peanut butter cheesecake amazing 9/10. Come to white sports just for desert“

“We invite different pairs of friends out to get to know them better over lunch a couple of times a month after church on Sundays. We have never been disappointed. For years our main waitress was Barb. She's retired now but Leslie is doing a great job being there always and the others give us good service as well. Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices, convenient parking, clean surroundings. Great place to dine!“

“We were staying at the hotel while my hubby had heart surgery and ate there our first night. THE FOOD AT ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING!! The second night I made an order online but accidentally pushed the Westshore location...(I'm in Saanich) when I was pointed out my mistake the young man up front went to talk to his manager Jenn! She had my order ready so fast! No questions asked! It was very busy in there for a Wednesday night! You guys are awesome. Thankyou again! We will be back to the hotel Accent Inn and Bin 4!“
