“What an absolute gem this shop is. We had our wedding cake made by Pastries by Nancy & oh boy it did not disappoint. When we had to go try cakes from different vendors, all we could talk about was the cakes from this shop. The owner was also very helpful & knowledgeable about the cakes & what could & wouldn’t work. I remember being most excited to have cake at the wedding more than the other parts of the wedding! We love their cake so much we are going to come back for a slice every year on our anniversary.“

“While seemingly a modest hole in the wall, this is a michellin-rated bake shop renowned for its namesake Armenian pies, filled with an unbelievably complex and dense mixture of at least 12 chopped herbs and greens...dill, sorrel, beet leaves, spinach, chervil, cilantro, scallions, chard, purslane, tarragon, and dandelion greens. Each herb contributes distinct flavor characteristics but the ratio to achieve a balance of acidity/tangy. sweetness, and aromatic complexity is reportedly very hard to get right . The dough , sometimes described as translucently thin but crisp, tender, bouncy and flavorful, somehow maintains structural integrity and moisture control. The overall effect of the pie is super 🔥“

“I have been to the 2 Little Tokyo locations and this one is definitely the winner! there’s a huge variety of pastries and things to eat for a quick bite (you might probably have to eat it standing or elsewhere during the weekends since it gets pretty packed and there’s just 3 tables!) but the steamed buns were good!, the matcha mochi wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect, the almond croissant was fine but their specialty is definitely on other pastries! will definitely come back again to try more stuff.“

“I attended a kids' birthday party and they had the most delicious cake ever. It was chocolate with a fresh strawberry center. The chocolate cake was so moist. The icing was light and delicate. This cake was talked about with everyone. We kept saying, "it's not too sweet," which is the best compliment you can say for a cake. I wasn't the one that purchased the cake but I definitely will now after this.“

“09/11/25: The Latina staff member was very friendly and welcoming (same person I met on my last visit!) — her service attitude is excellent. The food here is always very, very delicious, and the little bunny cake was amazing with fresh ingredients.

However, I did feel disappointed with another staff member (Asian) who came across as unfriendly and gave me attitude. Since I am also Asian, I honestly don’t know if I did something wrong, but it made me uncomfortable.

Overall, the quality of the food is outstanding, and I truly enjoy coming here. I just hope the management can strengthen training for individual employees so that the service experience matches the excellent food.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

I’ve had lots of vegan breakfast sandwiches and this one was better than most. I liked that they put it on croissants instead of bagels. I got a chocolate chip cookie to go and it was addicting. Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“

“We ordered the pecan pie for Thanksgiving. It was the best part of our meal!! I've gone through a lot of pecan pies in my life. Always disappointed that the crust doesn't have the right amount of salt to balance the sweetness or that sweet gooey stuff around the pecans is artificial tasting or the pecans don't taste right. This pie is perfect from start to finish. It's made with real butter which I can taste. The pecans seem to be just slightly roasted and there's lots of them. I'm so happy with this place. I'm ready to try their other products. We ordered online and everything worked out perfectly. There's a bit of a line out the door but you have to understand why. It's just really really good. “Fresh warm gooey cookie, literally everything youd love in a cookie. i was skeptical at first because im usually not a fan of a chubby cookie, i dont mean to discriminate towards the thiccer cookies but some of them are dry. when i tell you this was the best chubby cookie ive ever had i dont take that lightly. it wasnt too sweet it had a perfect contrast of crunch to chew ratio. absolutely a delicious cookie. genuinely i would have liked a sugar cookie on the menu but thats just a personal preference. the service was great, i was offered a complimentary pumpkin spice cookie to try, im not a fan of pumpkin spice so i gave that to my mother who really enjoyed it. the location with warehouse situation was interesting, but they made it easy just call and they bring it right to you. it was my first time but based off everything, ill definitely be back! highly recommend the chocolate chip, its just an all around great cookie.“
