“A no-frills "fast food" spot. They have a very diverse menu consisting of American, Mexican, and Chinese food. I have yet to try any other item besides the burgers and fried zucchini, which I'm a fan of. The service is quick and your food is cooked to order. The burgers are a great size and delicious! Also, do yourself a favor and get the fried zucchini. The batter is nice and crispy, and the zucchini is sliced thick.“

Panda Express Chinese • $
2234 Lincoln Ave, Altadena

“I only come lunchtime but the manager looks like he’s doing a good job. Place is clean. Service is usually quick (yes sometimes it’s slow. It’s panda). Food is good (it’s panda, almost all are good). Specifically, chow mein noodles are not over cooked (that is one variation I’ve noticed). Parking is good. Only complaint is when it’s empty it can be cold - even in summer. But that is common at pandas not at malls. Probably bc the cool works over a jet engine“

“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay. Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. The rest of service was fine and nice, just the initial confusion didn’t feel very good.“

However, it was clearly the lobster that won our affection, perfectly spiced and cooked, presented with endless ginger, green onions, and jalapeños. “Read about this place in the paper. Bae and I are always saying things like "we should explore the culinary delights of the sgv" but are often intimidated because we don't speak Chinese and have little familiarity with the cuisine beyond the white people Chinese restaurants of our respective coasts (she east, me west). We ordered from the internet even though we were there because we had our dog with us. The noodles were extremely, extremely good, the other ingredients (beef, chicken, veggies) were pretty standard. If i was to return I just get noodles straight up, I feel like the other stuff just distracts from the main event. Bae couldn't eat hers because she comes from a place (new england) where people say stuff is too spicy because there is PEPPER in the dish. Like, the pepper you have at your house. I cooked a dish with pepper once and her mom wouldn't eat it for that reason. Also the service was good, they actually called us because they were out of something we ordered and wanted to make sure they gave us a refund or something else.Unless you are a monster two people can split one dish here, any dish. If you order more than one dish per two people left overs are a given. Also, we drove around for an hour before we got home and the food was still warm.Vegetarian options: Noodles! Tofu!Dietary restrictions: Gluten!Parking: Free lot in the shopping plaza but lots of venerable people entering and exiting so be careful. “One of the most unique flavors in the area and done well! We've been here several times and recommend to friends visiting or anyone wanting to try something new.PARKING / ARRIVAL / VIBE:Two small lots are available for customers and street parking if those are full. When you walk in you see white cloth tables and some paper on top of those and pretty multicolored lighting, with TV screens and music playing traditional views and tunes. We arrived about an hour before closing (group of 5 on a Friday evening) and were seated promptly, and it was busy! We were there to chat and dine so got comfortable. Menu has traditional options, appetizers, entrees, vegetarian, desserts, and drinks (in particular they have traditional teas!).SERVICE:Our servers were friendly and efficient, making sure all is good, plates are cleared, all that good stuff with making you feel welcome!FOOD:Fresh and arrived as they are ready. The SHREDDED POTATO was excellent! Potato slivers soaked in flavor, not too spicy and just the right amount of tangy, so good. The large BONELESS BIG PLATE CHICKEN is indeed large and heaped in a mound of chicken and potato chunks atop large flat noodles with sauce; a staple order and the chicken toothsome and flavorful. The LAGHMAN hand pulled noodles with stir fried peppers and beef has a wonderful flavor and the noodles are very springy, you can even see the slight difference of thickness which proves they are hand pulled. the PEARLED NOODLES are kind of like a chopped version of the LAGHMAN - spoonfuls of beefy and chewy noodle goodness, kind of like a rich pasta dish! I would recommend all four of these dishes, they are the perfect size and amount for 5 people.Dessert: their BAKLAVA is one of the best I've had, lots of layers that shatter through to plenty of pistachio filling, nutty and not too sweet like a lot of other baklavas! Delicious end to a delicious meal :)So glad they're in the area and will always recommend this place to friends (or take them here!).“

“2023.09.16 \First visit/Originally, I wasn’t very interested in eating noodles in LA, but Flavor Noodles changed my mind. This time I ordered fatty beef noodles in sour soup, Sichuan style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. I can’t choose which one is more delicious, I like them both! Looking forward to ordering something else on my next visit that I didn't have the stomach for this time.2024.01.09\Second interview/I finally had the opportunity to visit for a second time, but today I was a bit disappointed. I ordered beef noodles with raw pepper, Sichuan-style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. The Chao Shou was more delicious than the last time I had it, but the taste of both bowls of noodles was a bit bland. Last time the sausage was very full, but today it looks thin. The beef noodles with raw pepper are quite spicy. Will be willing to visit again to see if today was just an anomaly, but will order back the beef noodles in sour soup next time.Recommended: Fatty Beef Noodles in Sour Soup“

“We celebrated the new year luncheon here. You need to make a reservation first cause they have lots of customers. Their flavors of dishes here are all awesome. It's an authentic Cantonese cuisine. The special bun is astonishing. It has shrimp, chicken and vegetables in it and filled with the soup. Tasted great. The seafoods here are very fresh. We ordered the gold lobster, fried squid and cashew nut shrimps. All of these tasted great. The services here are friendly and warm. They will help you to counter help. And the atmosphere here was nice. Though is not a big restaurant. But full with feeling of hometown. Recommended. It is an independent store that has been operating for more than 40 years. It tastes really good and it is authentic Cantonese cuisine. Every time All the dishes are exquisite and attentive. I like the pomegranate buns they ordered. They have shrimp, vegetables, chicken and full of soup. The skin of the duck with taro paste is crispy and very tasty. The skin of the glutinous rice chicken roll is also very chewy. I have eaten here before. The most authentic taste, the golden lobster is quite big and can only feed 11 people. It is delicious with salted egg yolk and the meat is plump. The fried squid is very crispy and the meat is very tender. Even the stir-fried soybean sprouts are very delicious after inhaling the chicken broth. eatThe overall taste is really first-class, the price is moderate, and the service is very attentive and will always help change the plates. Business is very good. It is recommended to make an appointment in advance. The overall experience is great. Highly recommended.“

Great place for a family gathering. Food is fantastic and quickly served. Everything seems to come out all at the same time so you'd get to enjoy everything at the same time.We had a party of 9 and we had a great time. “Very solid spicy beef noodle soup! It wasn't really spicy but the broth was super flavorful and the meat and vegetables only added to it. The knife cut noodles were abundant and very nice and chewy. It was a pretty good sized bowl. We also tried the beef roll and it was very, very good. I expected it to be greasier because of the pancake and sweeter because of the hoisin but it wasn't. It was perfectly balanced between meat, pancake and the scallions and cilantro. It even came with some chili oil to make each bite extra tasty. We really enjoyed our meal and are glad this place is within walking distance of our apartment. Everyone who worked here was very bright, cheerful and friendly, so the service was great.“

“The food was delicious!! My friend and I ordered 6 different plates because we couldn't narrow it down to a few. My favorites were the wonton soup and the lemon pork. The chicken fried rice was also good, uniquely salted, which we both enjoyed. The only downside was the service. We got food but no water or drinks that we ordered until we couldn't find our server for 30 minutes, and the gal bussing the tables helped us. It happens. We will be back because we have more to try. The menu's enormous.Parking: Park behind the restaurant.“

“One of my favorite Sichuan Pot in the area. They use plenty of food and sauce inside the broth. For the Fish fillet and Frog in Sichuan Mala Broth, it's the size for two people with many fish fillet and frogs inside the large pot. Though it's a little bit spicy, the proteins are pretty good with the fantastic taste. The staff told me that their boss asked them to add enough food to ensure customers' satisfaction. What a great experience of dining here. Attention to adjust the spicy level for any one of the pots.“

“Yummy Cantonese Chinese food: NO MSG!What a cozy joint- so glad we found this hole in the wall in Chinatown :). It’s family run and the owner and server were both so warm and down to earth! They pride themselves in NOT using MSG in their food and make an effort to reduce the use of salt/oil. I loved their Chicken Porridge (congee) which is often a difficult dish to find in Chinese restaurants, and their Salt & Pepper squid was so delicious! The restaurant fills up quickly as it’s a small operation, but you won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to be back :)Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs :)“

“Impromptu noodle spot on a rainy day. Was happy we did. A bowl of noodles for 13, and lamb soup with bun on the side for 17. Total with tax was about 34. Felt super nice and toasty eating at this spot on a rainy day. Lamb soup hit the spot, pretty generous amount of meat and soup had right amount of flavor with black pepper. Large portion of noodles. Love the home made table chili oil. The guy was super nice. He didn't accept tips, and insisted not taking. He said to visit more often instead. I find that super refreshing. Will be back!Side note there was a lady there who took our order, I saw others comment she isn't very enthusiastic, while we experienced similar I'd say the guy server made it up. We cut that part a slack.“
