“My first time sitting at a sushi bar and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was great, and watching the chefs prepare everything right in front of you made the experience even more fun. “I highly recommend Sushis Takeda. I absolutely loved the experience: the service from the waitstaff was excellent—always attentive and very friendly—which made the whole visit even more enjoyable.

What stood out most was the *omakase* format, where the chef prepares a perfect selection —and honestly, it does not disappoint. I was served by the team of Jairo, Sami, and Demi, and everything we tasted was delicious. Every single dish had incredible flavor, and the quality was evident.

“I’ve been coming to Kenbey every week for the past couple months and it genuinely hasn’t missed once. The fish is the freshest I’ve had in the States since eating sushi in Japan, and I don’t say that casually.

I always get the tuna and salmon specials because I truly can’t resist — the seared toro and the salmon with the yuzu truffle are the best bites of sushi I’ve ever had. Every single time.

For my birthday I did the Omakase solo and sat at the bar, and watching the chef work was a work of art. Their classic miso soup was already my favorite, and then the crab miso came with the Omakase and I genuinely don’t know how I’m ever not going to order that now. The ice cream finished it off perfectly — denser than what you’re used to, almost mochi-like. The chef talked me into it and I’m so glad he did.

The staff is warm and attentive in a way that actually feels natural, not performative.

Kenbey is such an underrated hidden gem and I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about it. It’s my new neighborhood spot.“

“Came in for a conference and had lunch at Momi Sushi after checking into our hotel. We tried the sashimi sampler, miso soup, fish of the day nigiri and the tamago nigiri. Everything was incredibly fresh, accented with light complimentary flavors. I loved the dine-in ice bowls for the sashimi. Well worth it. If we have time before we have to go home, we will definitely be back.“

“Sawa is easily a top-10 restaurant in my opinion. The chef deserves a star. The entire experience went beyond my expectations, truly outstanding. I had so much fun dining there; the environment is friendly, and every bite was delicious. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“Finally tried this hand roll spot and it did not disappoint. Came during peak hours and waited a bit, but totally worth it. We ordered the 2person combo and everything was super fresh. The rice was perfectly seasoned and slightly warm, the nori was crisp, and the uni hand roll was outstanding — easily one of the best I’ve had. The soy marinated shrimp was also a standout. This was my second visit to Sushi Kaneyoshi, and it remains incredible. The staff is so attentive they anticipate your needs before you even realize them. While the price point is high for a single meal, the quality is on a different level. As an average salaryman, I can say it's worth every cent. Kaneyoshi is a master, and I never tasted food the same since coming here.

“Excellent! Totally lives up to the hype. Every dish we had was delicious but the salmon sushi, sweet potatoes and salmon collar were the standouts for me. Only thing I think they could work on is the space— tables set between breaks in the booth, air conditioning that turns the food cold quickly, blindingly bright neon lights. “Not that I've eaten at a ton of high-end omakase sushi restaurants, but Sushi Sonagi is one of the best omakase restaurants I've had in the world.

Chef Son seems to do a seasonal menu, but sources and prepares fish uniquely that not only tastes absolutely amazing, but also in a way that I didn't taste at several other, Michelin-starred omakase sushi restaurants. For example, I personally do not enjoy the taste of salmon, but the one Chef Son prepared (he described it as a 1 in 1000 salmon) did not have a strong salmon flavor at all, and it ended up being one of my favorite courses out of the whole meal. It should speak volumes of his skill that he could turn one of my least favorite ingredients into a dish I hope I'll be able to eat more of.

While I'm not a big sake person, the waitress (I assume his wife but I don't know for sure) was happy to recommend a sake based on my taste preference and she really nailed it, it was one of the best tasting sakes I've ever had as well.

Chef Son was also very conversational, and as a local South Bay resident he was able to chat with all the customers about a ton of stuff. Mostly food and cooking of course, but also other things as well. It was a much more relaxed and casual setting than other places at the $200+ price point, which I appreciated.

These types of restaurants are usually one and done for me no matter how good they are, but Sushi Sonagi is the first one I'm seriously considering returning to, and sooner rather than later.“

“The food conveyor belt is efficient & user friendly. The food itself is good, with a few caveats. In the mood for nigiri & sashimi? This is the place to get it conveniently and with good quality. In the mood for rolls that aren’t your basic California/tuna? This place will disappoint. But, they also have great dessert! The yuzu cheesecake is SO good. It’s really only 4 stars because of the rolls being so lackluster. They also only do brown rice which is fine I guess but not preferred.“

It makes me think of my grandmother as this was always a treat me and her would go and get just the two of us and share with no one else. It was like our place and being a family and seeing a family and speaking like family all my life I just love this place. I always want 16-20 pieces half and nori and inari.“

“Not sure how I haven’t left a review here yet—this is my go-to sushi spot in the area. I always start off with the spicy garlic edamame and calamari, both great appetizers. Depending on the day, if you order a beer you sometimes get a free fried corn poppers appetizer, which is actually surprisingly good.

My usual go-to rolls are the Hungry Roll and Samurai Roll, but honestly everything I’ve tried here has been solid. Service is always good as well.“

“Morihiro is just really solid all around. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything, especially the sushi—the rice and fish were super clean and well balanced.

Chef Morihiro Onodera comes from a traditional Japanese background, and it shows. His style is very classic and detail-focused, precise technique and great ingredients. Even the ceramics are part of the experience, since many of the plates are made by him.

Highlights for me were the uni hand rolls and the sashimi. Even the steak and tempura were done really well, simple but executed right.

Nothing feels over the top or gimmicky, just thoughtful and intentional. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but worth it if you’re into traditional sushi done right.“

“I came to Ichijiku Sushi to capitalize on the DineLA deal, which - priced at $55 - included a beverage (Hazy IPA), miso soup, edamame, yellowtail & jalapeno sashimi (3), spicy tuna on crispy rice (2), 6 nigiri comprising of bluefin tuna, yellowtail, salmon, branzino with yuzu kosho, albacore with house ponzu, and bluefin chutoro, two hand rolls (I chose yellowtail habanero and salmon ground sesame seed), and green tea mochi ice cream to close out.

It was an amazing meal, with each course bringing serious value through well-sourced ingredients & fish. The ambiance is conducive for sushi devouring with excellent conversations. And at $55, this was amazing. They also have a competitive happy hour that runs from 2-5pm daily, and I definitely want to check that out soon. Also big shout-out to Emi! She's from Hyogo and was very kind :)“

“K Sushi is a hidden gem. Our server Luke, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Special Roll Tray and the Tempura Ice Cream.

The Special Roll Tray was flavorful and a great portion size for 4 people with moderate appetites. The Tempura Ice Cream was amazing. I loved the contrast between the crispy crunchy exterior and the cold ice cream inside. The pricing was fair and standard. They have korean fushion rolls on the menu. I will be coming back to try those!

The restaurant is small family business tucked in a small plaza. The place was clean and comfortable. It wasn’t too busy during dinner time on a Thursday. The bathrooms were clean which is always appreciated.“
