“So glad to know that our favorite Hong Kong style noodle place is back at the same location as the late Beyond Cafe with apparently the same chef but new owners and an expanded menu! Their wonton noodle soup (exquisitely complex broth with taste of dried scallops, springy noodles, and perfect wontons with juicy ground pork and plump shrimp) and spicy beef brisket noodle soup (tender chunks of gelatinous beef in a nicely balanced spicy beef broth and springy noodles) are so good it will be difficult to try other delicious looking offerings on the new menu!“

“Good food, but expensive for what it is. Very authentic and has a similar flavor profile as some of the noodle places I've had in Japan. I ordered the duck soba and the soup was quite bitter and medicinal. I can see why some people like it but personally not for me.“

“No wait to sit down which is uncommon for dim sum in the area. Friendly and quick service despite being understaffed. They were out of quite a few items on the menu. The scallion oil noodles just tasted like soy sauce, I don't recommend those. I do recommend the bbq pork buns, string beans, and pork sheng jian bao. The last two are a must order!“

“The usual wait time is 20-30mins always but if you go solo or as a group of 2 then wait time is ~10mins. I got the classic I think it was a solid choice but the lamb one because of the broth was so much better.

“Slow evening evening in at Mr. Liu Noodle house had a warm and calming dinner. I had the House Special original beef noodle soup. The portion is a healthy size so it’s quite filling by itself with good depth of flavor. I was told it was slightly spicy, but couldn’t really taste any, I don’t actively seek very spicy stuff but do enjoy spice to a dish. I added two small spoons of chili oil to add some of that spice to the dish so if you are concerned about spicy, unless you are incredibly sensitive it is very low spice. I ordered a side of the pork ribs as well, they were tender and fall off the bone with good flavor, but personally would’ve liked if they were slightly crispier exterior with like a broil or something to finish. Overall very happy, the meal was warm, filling and comforting in a slightly chilled evening“

“This was our first time trying House of Pancakes, and let's just say--the name is definitely misleading in the best way. While you might expect a traditional breakfast spot, this cozy, mom-and-pop-style restaurant serves up hearty Northern Chinese dishes packed with flavor.
We came with a large group of extended family and were impressed with how accommodating and friendly the staff were. They even made thoughtful dish recommendations based on our group size and preferences, which made the experience even better.
We ordered quite a bit to share:
Beef Pancakes (a house specialty)
Lamb Skewers (spicy and non-spicy)
Lamb Dumplings
Pork Dumplings
Lamb Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles
Fresh Cucumber Salad
Overall, the food was delicious and flavorful. That said, if you're not a fan of lamb (like me), just be aware that the lamb skewers and dumplings can be a bit gamey. The spicy skewers helped mask it a bit, thanks to a generous sprinkle of paprika.
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the lamb stir-fried noodles--the lamb in that dish was melt-in-your-mouth tender and tasted more like beef than lamb to me. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the beef pancakes due to dietary restrictions, but my cousins absolutely loved them and said they were a must-order.
The pork dumplings were a standout for me--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the cucumber salad was refreshing and balanced everything out nicely.
The restaurant has a small, casual diner vibe that gives it local charm--nothing fancy, but welcoming and perfect for sharing a flavorful meal with family or friends.“

“It's packed and it may take bit to be seated. You write your name and party size on the white board.
The dry fried chicken wings are the best chicken wings I've had. Juicy and crunchy with a nice sweet glaze. The green beans, dry black bean sauce noodles, and hot braised chicken were all good but the dry fried chicken wings were the standout!“

“It’s a small and cozy izakaya, perfect for dining alone or with a small group of 3–4 people. I ordered appetizers from the special menu. First up: Mentaiko Zucchini (so delicious! The very first bite was refreshing, followed by the rich umami saltiness of the mentaiko. A little dip in Karashi mustard made it even better—definitely a must-try! Highly recommended).
Next was Kuramaebi, tiger prawns deep-fried tempura style and topped with tartar sauce. After that, I ordered Ba-ra Kushiyaki and Kobe Kushiyaki (served 2 skewers each). I especially enjoyed the Kobe—it was grilled perfectly and went really well with Shichimi Togarashi. If it had the same green onion topping as the Ba-ra, I think it would have been absolutely perfect.😋“

“Noodleosophy is local Bay Area chain focusing on hand-pulled noodle dishes, and this location in particular can be found in Millbrae's Social Eatery food hall. As part of Social Eatery, patrons can take a seat within the food hall, place their orders on the provided tablet, and a staff member will bring the food an beverages straight to your table.
We decided to get their beef tendon noodle soup and selected the biang biang noodles (you're able to customize the dish to your liking with whatever noodle option you prefer). We also got a side of their pork and shrimp dumplings, because who doesn't love dumplings?
The beef tendon noodle soup was rich and flavorful, while the accompanying noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy - providing a great mouth feel to the dish. The dumplings were delicious as well, and were a nice addition to the meal as a whole.
If you're ever in the Millbrae area and want a one-stop shop for all your dining and beverage needs, then Social Eatery is definitely the place to go and be sure to enjoy some delicious hand-pulled noodles from Noodleosophy while you're at it!“

“I love this place so much. It’s quickly become a neighborhood staple and my favorite Vietnamese in the city (I used to live near Turtle Tower in Little Saigon so my bar is high)! Things I love -
- The classic beef pho broth is flavorful, savory - not overly sweet or spiced, and not watered down. It’s just perfect. They don’t skimp on portions for meat or noodles.
- You can sub fresh rice noodles for classic pho noodles, which I personally love. Less chewy but soft and comforting.
- they have greater variety than typical of a pho spot. You can get classic beef pho but they also have Bun Rieu (a tomato and shrimp/crab paste noodle soup that’s delish).
- everything’s incredibly fresh. Not a wilty herb in sight.
- finally, they service!! They are insanely kind. The owners are warm and friendly. My three year old daughter was sad that I ate her noodles 😅 and the owner packed her extra to go.
This will be our go-to spot for years to come.“

“A Hidden Gem Worth the Drive!
We absolutely LOVE Noodle Stop! Their beef brisket rice noodle soup is hands down one of the best in the Bay Area – rich, flavorful broth, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles. It hits the spot every single time. My kids beg to come here, and even though we live all the way in South San Francisco, it’s always worth the trip.
What’s funny is they have a huge menu full of tempting dishes, but we just can’t risk not getting our favorite. Every visit, it’s the same routine: “4 bowls of beef brisket rice noodle soup, please!” 😄 One of these days we’ll branch out because everything else looks so good too.
The food is amazingly consistent – same great taste every time. The staff is super friendly, and the owner is just wonderful. We have severe nut allergies in our family, and I once shared this with them. They told me they used to use peanut oil in their hot sauce, but after hearing our story, the owner personally assured me they stopped using it altogether. That level of care and thoughtfulness really stuck with us – it shows they truly value their customers. Get their hot spicy oil!!! They give you some for the table and every month or so we get a bottle to go for home!
It’s been great seeing business pick up for them since they’re still fairly new. Part of me is so happy more people are discovering this local gem, but part of me worries it’ll be harder to get a table in the future!
If you haven’t been, go now – you won’t regret it. Just don’t take my table! 😉“

“We dined in for a late lunch as a family of three. The yelp waitlist indicated a 10-20 minute wait and we were surprised to receive a text 5 minutes later.
Food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Juicy Pork Bao, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Zha Jiang House Special Bean Paste with Mince Pork, Boiled Pork and Chive Dumplings and Fried Tofu.
While there is no separate kids menu, our thirteen month old loved his food so much that he stayed in his high chair for the duration of the meal.
Would highly recommend!“

“So good! They have many different combinations of dumpling fillings. We went with the three treasures, and the mushroom & chicken filling, one with soup and one without, they were both so good. The soup that it comes with is filled with seaweed, and a light savory broth. I highly suggest adding vinegar to the broth to bring out the flavor even more. And you make your own dipping sauce at the table for your dumplings as well.
Service was great, and the food came out quickly. Plenty of seating, with wall decorations.“

“A bit of a hole in the wall restaurant serving Chinese food with an emphasis on noodles. I had the bbq pork bun and tan tan mien, both of which were really fresh and flavourful. Prices are pretty standard and the portions are pretty big for the price. The place was completely empty when I went there during lunchtime on a weekday so service was quite fast. There was one guy tending to the front of the store and he was polite and attentive. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.“

“WenChang is a winner. I was staying a couple blocks away and stumbled upon this nondescript neighborhood eatery, and I’m so glad I did. The food and prices were great. The crispy honey sesame chicken was a treat. I’m not a big fan of sweet dishes, but this plate was loaded with nice pieces of chicken, fried to perfection with the perfect mixture of sweetness and sesame. The soup dumplings are another must-try dish—savory and juicy. The vegetable chow mein was
fresh and not overly cooked. They have two prices for many entrees: cash and credit card. So make sure to bring cash for the best prices.“

“We had been here so many time prior and I love it everytime we’re in the area. The foods quality and freshness are generally consistent throughly the yrs but once in awhile, it just off, we had that couple time. Also just my pov, it is abit declined since the beginning. But they are still delish and got to have it at least one year. Services are the same, mostly great but one in a full moons just the opposite. Overall still an institutional place or landmark for SF and the Vietnamese community for sure. I tried to sit sibling places in SF doentown, BH and South coat plaza and even with the mother cooked in BH, somehow this place still carries the original and most flavorful crab ever.“

“Saigon BBQ Noodle House is one of my favorite go-tos for Vietnamese in San Francisco. The pho has a rich, aromatic broth that hits the spot every time, and their garlic noodles are garlicky without being overwhelming. Portions are large ‒ you’ll definitely leave full. The banh mi has a soft chewy bread that complements all the fillings perfectly, and even the simpler dishes show freshness in the ingredients.
Service is warm and unpretentious — staff make you feel welcome immediately. The space is casual, which makes it nice for relaxed meals, but it can get busy and a little loud at peak times. Overall price is reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend if you want authentic Vietnamese without frills.“

“Fresh and delicious food with a ton of flavor! Flavor explosion! We tried their homemade drinks too, the lime one and the orange mango- we finished them and then ordered more- so good. We had almost all the vegan dishes. The apps are a good small size, but the entrees are huge. Just so tasty. And the family there is so polite, kind and accommodating. The chef really knows what’s she’s doing. This isn’t a place where they have a random bland vegan option so they can check the box. These folks know what they are doing. A delight to eat and visit here. What a gem. This place may now be the best vegan food in San Francisco- sorry Shizen, you are now #2. I would give it all the stars, but this app reserves that for vegan only places- but the deserve all the stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you again for this amazing food. See you next week! 🥳🙏🥰“

“This restaurant l restaurant has a handful of minor flaws for their higher prices.
We started with their happy hour appetizers: TSK fries and fried cauliflower. The fries tasted great with the seasoning, but it kept falling off so most bites were plain. The cauliflower was well-executed but uninteresting. We also tried a sake flight, which was excellent and showed a lot of variety.
For mains, we ordered dipping noodles and spicy miso ramen. The ramen has excellent ingredients including lucious pork belly and a perfectly done egg. However, the broth was salty and oily enough to slightly upset the stomach. The dipping noodles were very high quality with flavorful broth, but we generally preferred the ramen on our return visit. The pork rice bowl is an amazing value at $10 and is a meal in itself; it's my new favorite dish. Most mains are $22.
The first time service was very attentive, verging on overbearing. The second time was better. The interior atmosphere is beautiful, although it gets pretty loud when busy. Finally, we were disappointed to see that all of their new promotional signs are made with AI.“

“On a really cold day in SF, this was absolutely what I needed to have in my stomach. I was so hungry and did not really want to walk too far or Uber anywhere so I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place. Even though it’s a bit cramped and looks a little run down, it was very cozy to sit in and get away from the cold.
I ordered my soup and it was ready in less than ten minutes. I ordered a small and let me just say it looked more like a large. I can’t even imagine what the large looks like. My soup was incredibly filling and left me feeling more than satisfied. It had the perfect amount of noodles and meat. I enjoyed every spoonful of it!“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

I got a beef noodle soup (non-spicy) and it soothed my soul, super delicious and it has that dark but also tender broth. I also tried the Pork and Napa Cabbage dumpling soup and it was light and filling (12 dumplings in the soup). This spot is great for solo-dining and the service is attentive and friendly.

“We dined in Dynasty Dumpling after a show last night as it had good ratings on Google maps.
We were lucky to get parking right as we arrived. Mind you, there isn't much so bare that in mind.
We arrived within an hour of closing, and this place was still quite busy. We were seated promptly. The place is bright, decor inviting and clean.
Our jasmine tea came piping hot, which suited the cool night weather.
We proceeded to order our food. The two kind ladies running the table orders and service were very efficient and helpful to all the guests who were dining. There were 3 more groups who arrived after us plus at least 5 food delivery drivers and 3 people picking up their own orders. For context, we were seated in front of the cashier's desk and could see them coming and going.
Dinner was delicious Cantonese cuisine, contrary to some reviews. Our experience was perfect. I will let the pics of the food speak for themselves. My favorites were the dumplings, I must say. Both are very good from the dumpling wrapper/skin to the differently seasoned flavorful fillings.
Price was on point. The portions, definitely for sharing, we have plenty now for lunch today. The only pic missing is the seafood tofu soup, which also came piping hot and so delicious we forgot to take a pic.
We would definitely dine here again when back in the city.
Another plus is that the restrooms are kept very clean, for those wondering.“

“It was cold out, the wind was coming off the bay and it was a damp wind, the kind that goes all the way down to your bones and make you think of having pot roast or a hearty stew for lunch....But no....she wants a salad....a salad, I said! A damn salad! Take this exit, she pouts out...we'll go to MoBowl and get a salad, they're the best in the area! You'll like it she said.
So when it's cold out, and you have your heart set on pot roast, and she says...it's salad! It's gotta be MoBowl.
