“I've been coming here for about 2 years now. It has definetly some of the best tacos in the bay area. The price is also very reasonable. I always get tacos de Al Pastor but the chicharon tacos are really good as well. The service can be a hit or miss and wait times can be long, since they are usually busy. The food, however, is always delicious and consisten. I live in SF but drive down to burlingame just for the tacos every other week. I wish they were open late, but they close at 5p everyday. I would avoid going during lunch time, since that's when they are the most busy.“

They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out).The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Our guests are still talking about the day and if we could, we’d do it 1000 times over just to experience the magic again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! “Great tacos! The buche, carnitas, and cabeza were all really good (and large/meaty). Each one had a different delightful texture but cabeza was my favorite.... so tender! “Kindest family-owned business with excellent reasonably priced Mexican food. We’ve been coming here for 15 years and my kids are raised on their food. Unlike many places that up charge for chips and salsa, they have kept the salsa bar free — it’s so good that I would pay. I think there’s now 8 salsas with plenty of fresh radish, lime, and jalapeño. We never go anywhere else. Favorites: kids pollo asado plate, tacos/burritos, and chicken nachos. Excellent beans and rice and lovely trays for catering, too.“

Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. “Deep fried burritos! It is listed under burrito/chimichanga on the menu. We tried one steak $12.25 and one shrimp $13.25 deep fried burrito. These were wonderful. All this time, I'm eating non-deep fried burritos when there are more variations. The tortilla was fluffy, easy to chew and the ends were the best part. It wasn't oily at all. Our appetizer was a super nachos with carnitas $12. This was huge. We were both full walking out of there.

La Paoma was busy at lunch on a Wednesday. Service was excellent. The food didn't take a long time to come out. Free chips and salsa when we sat down. This is a fun restaurant that will put you in a good mood the rest of the day. Thank you everyone at La Paoma.“

I had the chili relleno dinner and my guy has the barbacoa plate. The salas bar was fresh and delicious and the fresh churro was good.“

“This spot is takeout-only, but honestly the food speaks for itself. I’ve been ordering the chicken ensalada pretty regularly, and it’s become a favorite. The ingredients taste fresh, and I really like the mix of cauliflower, cabbage, and tomatillos. The pulled chicken and tofu options are both great, especially with the green cilantro sauce — that sauce ties everything together.

The regular carne burrito was piping hot, and perfectly wrapped with a perfect balance of delicious meat, rice, beans, and salsa. Nothing groundbreaking, just solid Mexican food at reasonable prices served by nice folks. We need more places like Los Cuates.“

“I only submit reviews in situations where the experience was outside the norm in some way. In this case, the Nachos that I just scarred down might be the best I've ever eaten in my 40 years of life. I wish I took a picture before I started eating them because the chips were stacked really neatly with the toppings on top. It was actually very esthetically pleasing, which I assume probably took some effort. Well, it didn't go unnoticed. Absolutely delicious!!“
