“We were out and about, looking for a place to have dinner on a Wednesday evening. We didn’t expect that most restaurants were only taking reservations. On our way back to the hotel, we came by Cenote. It didn’t look like much from the outside. It only had a few small tables with hard stool-style seats, fast food style. However…. The food was incredible! The four of us had all a different dish, and all four dishes looked beautiful. The flavors were fresh and very tasty. No disappointment! If you are looking for a mid-range priced dinner with awesome flavor in that neighborhood, this is your place! We all paid less than $20 for a fabulous dinner. Highly recommended if you like fresh and flavorful Mexican food.“

“Can't find huitlacoche easily and they have it in their empanadas! Yum. Chicken fajitas was a plentiful portion and pretty good, but needed more seasoning. Small little restaurant with mostly solo diners. Maybe they do more take out I'm not sure, but glad I tried it! Very nice host/server. And great value.“

“This is a family run place with outdoor seating. The food is quick, fresh and tasty. Women members of the family are nicer than the men, who can be clueless and unhelpful. Sometimes the meat is recooked in the crispy tacos which are otherwise my favorite. The flautas are also fresh and good as are the refried pinto beans.I like this casual place a lot—you can buy Russian River Brew next door at Raymnond’s excellent pizza place and sit in the sun with the locals.“

“Colibri Mexican Bistro is an excellent establishment for a Sunday brunch. Its convenient location, ample parking, and exceptional cuisine make it a highly recommended destination. We shared the Butter Lettuce Salad and Huevos Benedictinos, which were both exceptionally flavorful. The patio offers a delightful ambiance, making it an ideal setting for dining. We have added Colibri Mexican Bistro to our list for dinner and plan to return for brunch.“

“I've been to a lot of taquerias and this was one of, if not, the best places I've been to. Good prices, especially for how well it's made. My brother got a burrito and I got the chimichanga. My chimichanga was made perfectly and my brother said his was delicious. I highly recommend trying this place if you can!“

“I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“Wow this place was phenomenal. The servers (Jiro in particular) were so kind to my small family (including our baby). We ordered the dulce vita (great mescal cocktail), lemon chicken plate, birria lasagna and pastor cauliflower. Our favorite was the birria lasagna- great blend of diverse flavors - even the baby loved it. Would totally come again! Thanks modi!

I highly recommend the quesadilla or rice bowl with half chicken/half rajas con queso (my personal favorite).“

Enough of that, and onto the food. We tried the panuchos and everyone at the table really liked every component of the dish. We tried the poc chuc and the cochinita and each was exceptional.

A gentlemen at the table over ordered the chicken fajitas and I can't imagine that they weren't as good as what we ate.

“My favorite Mexican joint in a city overflowing with delicious MX food. I loved the Shrimp and Snapper Ceviche Tostadas, the Bohemian Beer Battered Fish Tacos, the Chilaquiles “Verdes,” and the Tamales Plate (I got one Maurilia Pork Tamale and one Butternut Squash and Cheese Tamale). Later I tried the Tamales Plate with one Chicken Mole Tamale and one Tamale Brazo de Reina (with chard pumpkinseed pesto, eggs, and salsa habanero). These were also good, but the first two tamales were best. My favorite item of all time might be the Niman Ranch Beef Brisket Tacos Quesabirria. The only items I have not liked as much were the Crispy Chicken Tacos with Guacamole, which were flavorful but dry, and the Crispy Shrimp Tacos, which were tasty but skimped on the shrimp. Service is competent and efficient. Portions are generous. Bring a healthy appetite.“
