“The food here is beyond delicious - every taco we had from carnitas, birria, rib eye, maitake mushroom, chicken tinga - was truly incredible. The quesadilla is a big serving and also very tasty. The horchata is creamy and perfectly balanced, and not too sweet as many horchatas tend to be. The mezcal they serve is wonderful as well. The owners are so nice and service is very attentive. The best thing here is the hot salsa, made from dried chilies, it’s really great but as far as I can tell they only give it to you if you ask, and it comes in a squeeze bottle.

I usually like carnitas extra crispy but theirs are very soft and super good.“

They get busy because of the location but they’re good with discounting the bill if service is slow. Halibut tacos are a must! Order two and order nothing else, they’re huge! “I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“This is a family run place with outdoor seating. The food is quick, fresh and tasty. Women members of the family are nicer than the men, who can be clueless and unhelpful. Sometimes the meat is recooked in the crispy tacos which are otherwise my favorite. The flautas are also fresh and good as are the refried pinto beans.I like this casual place a lot—you can buy Russian River Brew next door at Raymnond’s excellent pizza place and sit in the sun with the locals.“

“Mixiote is a hidden gem in San Francisco. I have eaten here more times than I can count, and the food is always delicious, consistent, and a great value. The staff and owner are also wonderful. I highly recommend the quesadilla or rice bowl with half chicken/half rajas con queso (my personal favorite).“

“This place undoubtedly does not get the attention it deserves because of its location. I won't go into detail but it's easy to get within a block of this place and turn right around in any direction except for here.

Enough of that, and onto the food. We tried the panuchos and everyone at the table really liked every component of the dish. We tried the poc chuc and the cochinita and each was exceptional.

A gentlemen at the table over ordered the chicken fajitas and I can't imagine that they weren't as good as what we ate.

If you're anywhere near this place do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't be disappointed.“

“My favorite Mexican joint in a city overflowing with delicious MX food. I loved the Shrimp and Snapper Ceviche Tostadas, the Bohemian Beer Battered Fish Tacos, the Chilaquiles “Verdes,” and the Tamales Plate (I got one Maurilia Pork Tamale and one Butternut Squash and Cheese Tamale). Later I tried the Tamales Plate with one Chicken Mole Tamale and one Tamale Brazo de Reina (with chard pumpkinseed pesto, eggs, and salsa habanero). These were also good, but the first two tamales were best. My favorite item of all time might be the Niman Ranch Beef Brisket Tacos Quesabirria. The only items I have not liked as much were the Crispy Chicken Tacos with Guacamole, which were flavorful but dry, and the Crispy Shrimp Tacos, which were tasty but skimped on the shrimp. Service is competent and efficient. Portions are generous. Bring a healthy appetite.“
