“My son, granddaughter, and I were craving great pizza and decided to try this somewhat new pizzeria — and we’re so glad we did!

The Caesar salad is non-traditional in the best way. The variety and freshness of the greens really stood out. As a vegetarian, I initially hesitated when I saw what looked like bacon bits, but the owner kindly assured me they were seasoned breadcrumbs — such a creative and delicious touch.

I ordered the potato pizza, and my granddaughter chose the pepperoni. She devoured nearly the entire pizza in record time, so I think it’s safe to say she gives it five stars! My potato pizza was the bomb — bursting with flavor. The pickled peppers added the perfect tangy kick. Both pizzas had that wonderful thin, crispy crust that I absolutely love.

The service was friendly and attentive. While the pizzas are on the smaller side and perhaps a bit higher in price, the fresh, quality ingredients make it worthwhile.

I also appreciated seeing a Palestinian soda in the refrigerator case, with 50% of the proceeds going toward a Palestine support fund — a thoughtful and meaningful touch.

I’m especially looking forward to warm evenings when I can walk the half mile from my home and enjoy dinner on the patio. We’ll definitely be back!“

“I discovered Shige in February 2025 while heading down to Southern California and had to stop by again this November on my way back up. I’d been looking forward to eating here for the past couple of days while planning my trip—and even more so this morning!

The food is excellent, the atmosphere is small but cozy and inviting, and the service is top-notch. My waitress even remembered me—where I sat and my attitude! Shige made a great impression on me the first time, and an even better one now.

The spring rolls are expensive for just being shredded cabbage and noodles, adding some mango or avocado or something would make it more worth it. “I entered the delightfully decorated entrance of the bakery or Boulangerie and was greeted friendly by an employee and then I saw the display case full of goodies and I chose a Croque Monsieur aka a big and delicious ham and cheese sandwich and I also chose a large piece of Quiche Lorraine and then I picked a Chocolate fillled Croissant and a small pastry of delicate bread stuffed with chocolate mousse and then it has a harder chocolate crust. Full disclosure: I’m more of a craft beer person while my wife is the wine enthusiast, but this ended up being one of those easy, low-pressure tasting experiences that makes wine country fun for everyone.

The tasting was reasonably priced and refreshingly simple, no complicated reservation process or over-the-top formality. Just walk in, sit down, and enjoy.

The indoor tasting space had a unique personality, with fire and police patches from surrounding agencies decorating the walls along with shirts from departments across the region. It added a personal, community-focused feel that made the space memorable and different from more polished winery tasting rooms.

Most seating leans toward an outdoor patio setup, but since it was cold during our visit we stayed inside and still had a great experience.

While we didn’t take any bottles home this time (we’ve actually seen their wine at Costco before), it was a fun and relaxed stop, perfect if you want a tasting experience without the complexity or pressure that sometimes comes with larger wineries.
