“Scoma's was one of the highlights of my summer last year. It was at Scoma's that I discovered that I am, in fact, a Lazy Man who requires Lazy Man's Cioppino. The restaurant is lovely, tucked away on a pier. The service was wonderful -- the waitress was really nice and seemed to love the food.The lazy man's cioppino was incredible! A warm, savory, thick tomato broth with perfectly cooked seafood. The mussels and clams were so juicy and succulent. The scallops (3) were so good, fat, and tender. The shrimp was yummy and not overcooked. The fish was well cooked -- not my favorite component, but still good. And of course, no need to get down with the crab shells since the crab meat has been pre-picked. I am a lazy man and this is my cioppino of choice. Definitely worth the price!The Rockefeller oysters were meh; too much cheese and spinach. I've had better broiled oysters (Acme in NOLA!). The oysters themselves were good, but it was hard to tell under the cheese sauce.We were seated next to a couple who had moved from the Bay to the East Coast, and cited Scoma's as a reason why they missed the Bay. I definitely want to return during future visits to SF!“

While the coffee vanilla mousse looked amazing on the outside, it was a tad too sweet. However, the highlight for me was the Imperial; paired with an iced cold brew, the decadent layers filled with a crumbly bottom and a sweet white filling inside was my favourite.Pretty good!“

There are a few tables for you to dine in, but I find most people order to take out.I like the Simurgh kebab sandwich. The kebabs were delicious but what stood out for me was the Turkish bread. It's not like anything I've had before. It is grilled, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is probably my favorite sandwich bread now. “Went here to try the SF restaurant week menu. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food is presented well. I felt that the experience missed the mark a bit though considering the prices. The menu is authentic Mexican but the flavours were lacking. For example, in the hibiscus margarita, the hibiscus was soo diluted compared to one you would get at a nice restaurant in Mexico. And it was similar for the food… the flavours were lacking. The duck on the menu was nice but too salty, while the dessert was too sweet. Our specific server seemed inexperienced but other staff were very attentive. In summary, I was hoping for the flavours to better match what I get in Mexico.“

I drive from the East Bay usually late night when my husband and I are craving phenomenal donuts. The donuts are extremely fresh, the times I've been here there has been an older gentleman making them and racks of donuts ready to be bought. Yummmmmmm. Just incredible tasty donuts. You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. I’d strongly recommend this place to people like myself who love a traditional Al pastor/carne asada taco, they have fantastic meat options and you will be very impressed the veggie options - and you absolutely must come if you are vegetarian/vegan. My only complaint is that they aren’t open enough for how much I crave their food.“

“I still give this place five stars for their gluten free baked goods and take home lasagna but overall four stars because their service still sucks most of the time. I went by here recently on a Sunday morning before a meeting to grab something hot to eat. I love their hot pockets. However, it was 9:30 am. A number of people around me and I started to form a line. Some people asked the staff questions about the pastries and they answered while putting stuff out. None of the staff thought to tell us that they didn't open until 10 am on Sundays. After about 5 minutes of being ignored, I saw the small sign for their hours. I pointed it out to others and we all left. That was a horrible experience as I was hungry and now didn't have time to get something else before my meeting. On Pi Day, I came by and was pleased they had a number of pies available in different sizes. I picked up a small Chocolate Pie that was low in sugar and a small Cherry Pie. They were the perfect size for the three of us though they could have fed more people. We didn't finish the pies ourselves. The Chocolate Pie was yummy and perfect for me but my husband said it wasn't sweet enough for him. We all loved the Cherry Pie! We went back recently and picked up their pizza dough. It came with two rounds. They were awesome!!! We put on our own toppings and popped them into the oven. They came out delicious. I love their food. I just wish the service was better.“
“Came on a Saturday evening, and there was a long line down the block. They only serve 1 type of pizza and 1 type of salad, and you decide how much you want of each. For the pizza, you can order per slice, half pie, or whole pie. You order at the front and then choose a seat if you're dining in. Since there's only one choice for everything, it all comes out right away when you order and pay. If you want anything specialized - gluten-free, vegan, etc then they tell you to go to counter to order first, then get in line to pay. Would recommend getting the green sauce as well for an extra delicious kick. They also have outdoor dog friendly dining. Delicious pizza, highly recommend.“
“GC gets docked a star for two reasons: 1) limited access because the line is so long (reservations are only taken for parties of 6+) and 2) the kung pao chicken is disappointing. As an institution, GC has been the best Chinese food in the area for decades. It was once so small you could shoot an arrow from the front door to the back wall. Its corner spot now on Oxford & Bancroft is massive in comparison, so now more people can wait to get in. The space is modern and bright, but the food is thankfully not fusion or fanciful. The food is exactly what it says on the door: Great China. From the plump (but crisped-skin) potstickers to the mu shu pork to the spicy green beans to the Peking duck, it is deliciously predictable. When I order ma po tofu, I know I'm going to get silken cubes of tofu in a thickened shiny spicy red sauce with ground pork in perfect proportion. Service is as friendly as Chinese gets and effortlessly efficient and fast. Parking sucks; it's downtown Berkeley, people. But if my San Fran friends long to come here, you know it's worth the hassle.“

I asked Rebekah for a custom Skyline Chili cake for my friend's birthday, and was amazed to see she achieved EXACTLY what I was imagining! My friend was blown away when they saw it :)There were many tempting flavors for a custom cake! After hearing recommendations from Rebekah about what would work best for the design (she clearly knows what she's doing), I ordered a vanilla cake with a mix of vanilla/cream cheese frosting, and whipped cream filling with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The cake was absolutely delicious--everyone at the party raved about how it was moist with the perfect level of sweetness.Doodlecakes was very communicative about the delivery as well! I was texted about any delays, and called to ensure the cake made it to me safely after I asked a housemate to receive it for me.All in all, it was easy and a pleasure to work with Doodlecakes on a custom order. The Arlington team are clearly pros at working in the Brazilian room - and had everything set up quickly and efficiently day-of - even though we had a shorter evening slot. The food was very good (especially the grilled salmon and pesto pasta) - everyone went back for seconds and we got many compliments! Marc was transparent and easy to work with throughout, and we thought pricing was reasonable compared to other vendors we looked at. Would highly recommend!!“
