It did not disappoint. I add my voice to those singing their praises. The place is small but the food is amazing. I was able to spend a few minutes chatting with the owners and they are wonderful people who you can immediately appreciate how much they are personally invested providing an amazing sushi meal and time permitting chat with you. Something we don't get enough these days. If you're into sushi and find yourself in downtown LA, this is a MUST visit location.“

“Tranquil spot with various omakase options. Came here with my family for an early dinner and made a reservation online beforehand. We opted for the Sushi Bar Omakase for $109 which came with 8 courses (including dessert). A couple of courses had multiple pieces, and we left very full. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite part; it was huge, hot, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the pieces kept coming. It was fun to watch them being prepared right in front of us at the bar (there are table seats as well). We enjoyed our meal and I would recommend this for special occasions or a way to treat yourself.“

“We ordered the Dine LA omakase sushi lunch which consisted of 3-course appetizer (jelly fish, steamed veggies (edamame, carrot and clam), okra, 10-course sushi, Chawanmushi (Japanese egg custard), miso clam soup and matcha mousse dessert. “Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“Located in K-Town, I’ve been hearing a lot about this spot that specializes in yubu (inari) sushi — rice stuffed in a sweet tofu wrap with different toppings. I came pretty close to opening time on a Saturday, and it was already busy. Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day.

I ordered the spicy salmon, lemon salmon, torched salmon, mentaiko crab, king yubu, and spicy tuna. They were all pretty good, but my favorites were the lemon salmon and torched salmon. The lemon really helped cut through the sweetness and richness of the yubu, and the torched salmon had a nice toasty flavor that made it stand out.

The pieces are decently sized and come packed with toppings, but they run about $6 to $10 each, so you’d probably need three or four to feel full. I like the concept and presentation, but the yubu itself does get a little too sweet after a while. Still, I’d definitely come back for a quick snack or to grab a few for a picnic or road trip.“

“Fabulous sushi with just enough flair to let you know that Chef Daniel-son has above average skills in areas other than sushi - he does a Saba sandwich on homemade milk bread, plus a shrimp stone pot fried rice in addition to sushi (at least as of this visit). Two seatings, the later one is more relaxed if you don't mind eating late. And the sake selection is excellent.“

“The food was amazing. The sweet potato was something I never had in my whole life. I have been to 39 countries for work and have eaten so many foods and I have never tasted anything close to it. The aburi salmon was delicious as well. However the star of the show: Our server Nic. He was one of the best most down to earth servers I have ever had in my life. He was patient, recommended the best things on the menu including the sweet potato. And my glass of water was never empty. You would think going to a trendy restaurant that maybe there would be a stuck-up atmosphere. But no all the servers and waiters were extremely friendly. Although the sweet potato is not something I had before in my life, I think Nic was one of the best servers. I got. Although pricey it was worth any penny. We'll be back in a week.“

“We ordered 5 different rolls. This is our new go to spot for to-go sushi. Everything was packed neatly and the presentation was excellent and appetizing. 10/10 quality and taste. “I mean, this is the besttttt handroll spot in all of Los Angeles. Cool unique hand rolls (like the same woo jang and banh mi) and premium rolls (uni, toro/caviar/uni). AND they give huge chunks of sushi. Since the seaweed layer is taken off when eating the seaweed is crispy while eating. The technology is giving! Honestly, IMO better than some of the big popular establishments around for hand rolls (IYKYK). Their to-go and delivery is not bad as well!“

“I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Wake Sakura in Gardena! It’s located on the second floor of the Tokyo Central market, which is a cool experience in itself. The restaurant has a sleek, modern, and clean atmosphere that feels very authentic.
You order everything on a tablet at your booth, and the plates are delivered directly to you on a high-speed conveyor belt, which is both efficient and fun to watch.
But the star of the show was, without a doubt, the Tuna Lovers plate. If you are a fan of tuna, this is a must-order. The quality was exceptional, especially for a conveyor belt-style restaurant. It featured a beautiful variety of cuts, from lean, clean-tasting akami to the rich, melt-in-your-mouth fatty toro. Every single piece was incredibly fresh, had a great texture, and was served on perfectly seasoned rice.
The quality of the fish here is a clear step above other conveyor belt spots. I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back. Highly recommended for any sushi fan, but especially if you love high-quality tuna!“

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. “The sushi here is solid. You get lots of pieces and thicker pieces of fish for a good price. My favorite roll was the sunset roll!

My family and I also ordered the tempura ice cream for dessert. It wasn’t the best tempura ice cream we’ve ever had. It could have had a crispier exterior and the ice cream didn’t have a strong matcha flavor.“

“We really enjoyed our dining experience at Kenbey. The sushi is fresh and you can tell the chef cares about each piece he serves. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of 3 things. The first is that I didn’t like the sauce that came on the hirame and the sauce on the albacore with the slice of garlic. Second, we tried the Hokkaido uni, it was a very dark orange (so not the freshest - we should have gone with the Santa Barbara uni) and so bland and flavorless. Third, for the prices they could add some decoration.

“Kikyo Sushi and Sake Bar is a great place to eat some great food. Their handrolled sushi rolls are lit!

We had a California Roll and a rock shrimp roll, and they were perfectly delicious. The rice was plump, with a slight bite with the perfect amount of filling.

A must try is their spicy garlic edamame. Man, they are so flavorful with the right spiciness. You'll be asking for seconds.

The reason for a 4 rating is that the bulgogi beef was a bit dry. It fell a little short in flavor and its traditional sweetness.

They have a great 5 dollar "thirst-quenching" draft beer that goes perfectly with your meal of choice.

Will I be back...YES! In a heartbeat and you should too, when you're in the area.“

“I am Korean and have been to many sushi, tempura, and omakase restaurants in Sapporo.
It's good here. It's good, but it's really crappy. It's no exaggeration to say that it's salt sushi. When Koreans go, please ask for a little less seasoning. Otherwise, you'll feel like you're eating from a soy sauce container.
And it's so, so, so cold. I'm not a neta, but I go to Michelin and pay $500, so I can't help but wonder why I'm shivering from the cold. And when I hold the nigiri, I don't know if it's a habit, but every time I hold it, I take a small amount of rice... a little bit from the nigiri. It feels a bit like an amateur. The fact that there were a lot of tsumami made was enough to give that feeling.
And the chef speaks a little Korean.
This business could get better if they just don't use Chrome Hearts chopsticks and show a little more consideration for their customers. The food was good, and except for the saltiness, the sushi and neta were good.“
