“My wife and I eat at Ciccia’s regularly but this is our first review after 4 years. Sorry Francesca and Mario! (In my defense I practically never ever write a review.) We keep coming back for the food, ambiance and hospitality. **We’ve gone 3 times in the last week! The crab gnocchi is my wife’s favorite. I get something different almost every time. Every visit I ask Mario about the specials as I like to sample the beef and/or fish (Branzino!) they prepare in addition to pasta. Try the Tomahawk steak if it’s a special that day (call ahead) and you will be amazed. Too many times we fill up on appetizers like mushroom flan, breaded zucchini, calamari, antipasto, and the choices go on! But that’s what to-go containers are for. So much good food to eat at Ciccias we tend to order too many things. It is simply fun to dine there. Once you’re inside the restaurant area (patio area or indoor area) the ambiance is quaint and cozy. Ciccia’s is not big and it’s always filled, but we never feel like it’s too crowded. The energy is always fun and upbeat. Which makes people stay awhile, so let me recommend getting reservations. We’ve had to wait 10-15 minutes but nothing’s perfect! If you want a breezy quick dinner before going off to an event you may want to go to Ciccia’s on another night. Hospitality is what you would expect of a small Italian restaurant run by the owners. Terrific!! If it’s your first time, read their story on the website before you go. They are bona fide top chefs who followed their dreams to open their own place. What a gem it is tucked inside Barrio Logan. One thing regulars may notice is that staff doesn’t appear to turn over much as I’ve seen the same faces working there for years. I think that reflects well on the restaurant. I don’t take pictures of food very often but last night I did. We stopped by at around 9 just to get dessert and a cocktail. My wife had the ricotta cake with apricot and habanero sauce (wow!) and I had cassata siciliana which is traditional cake from Sicily. Pretty to look at and yes, it’s delicious. They do a good job with making an Old Fashioned, which always pairs well with dessert 😜 Buon appetito!“

“It was my first time visiting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and kind. The donut the barista recommended was delicious , not too sweet, just perfectly balanced if you want something.

If you get the chance to visit, don’t hesitate! The place is super calm, spacious, and perfect if you want to sit and get some work done.“

“Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

“Really cool and unique coffee! I went in and just asked the barista to give me two coffees he recommended and it did not disappoint! We got the black nitro cold brew and the honey lavender and both were delicious! Also got a donut and it was also great. The barista was so friendly! I would totally make this my go to coffee spot when we visit Coronado.“

“I had such a wonderful experience at this Ethiopian restaurant in San Diego! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste. “This morning, a delicious espresso drink with half & half and cinnamon (The Raf) and homemade banana walnut bread. You know the rich toasty taste of real walnuts? Once you have baked goods Melissa's way you won't be able to go back to factory mass-produced pastries wrapped in plastic and lacking humanity. Taste the love at Gooseberries! Plus they're so welcoming and fun. On a hot day it feels good (no a.c. but you're essentially outside but in shaded comfort). I love their pickles (you can buy a jar) and Mel's nut butter (oh my Gawd the acai bowl is so good with nut butter)!“

“So stoked they have vegan rolled tacos! I tried both the potato and the lentil quinoa. Both are delicious, but the lentil quinoa ones blew me away!! 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽 They are so flavorful and the tortillas are crispy and crunchy, yet not hard. Also awesome is that they pack everything separately so the food isn’t a soggy mess when you get home. I added vegan sour cream I had at home and topped it with their guacamole, lettuce and salsa. They were heavenly!! I also appreciate that they fry their vegan tacos in a separate fryer. 🙌🏽Also, thank you for not using styrofoam. “Okay everyone here is a fantastic hidden gem in San Diego. And for those living in Orange County there's one at the Packing House. Parfait Paris took me back to the Parisian eateries I just went to in August, when I visited Paris. This one is a must for the European conosours. The manager Phoebe was delightful, friendly kind and so personable. The staff Ben C. and Ivy were absolutely wonderful, and had such a cute little French accent. The food was timely and incredibly delicious! If you want to go to heaven just for a bit, try Parfeit Paris, you will be sure to have your taste buds tantalized with the most delicious eggs benedict I've had in a very long time. The carrot cake was incomparable yuuuum, and I highly recommend the chocolate desert in my photos, it melts in your mouth. I had the best Dulce de Leche latte I've ever had. I had to finish the brunch with a sweet heavenly treat for later, I took some mochi variety home, that my family and I devoured watching our favorite TV show. If you are anywhere around the San Diego area, you must visit this place, it will transport you to the divine Parisian eateries in France!“

“3/5 for a first timer during restaurant week… the special menu was $50 per person…. we never got any bread with our dinner (and didn’t realize we were left out until we were on dessert)… and, portions were small, so the bread would have been nice, especially for $50… also, the server made us make our food order at the same time as our drinks… personally, i like to have a drink or two before i order my food… so, the service was rushed in that sense… and no one asked me if i wanted a second glass of wine i had the veal and my friend had the lobster ravioli… both tasted decently but, again, small portions… the burrata was amazing and the desserts (tiramisu and lava cake) were pleasant i think i’d like to try again on a night that isn’t as busy, and order off of the actual menu“

“Our server was Roldan at the Chula Vista (Eastlake) location. He did perfectly with an order split between regular and gluten free, got everything the first time, & checked in efficiently without being intrusive.

We ordered the Chef's feast (for 2) and had leftovers. For the gluten-free entree, we substituted shrimp for the chicken in the Chang's Spicy Chicken (up charge $2.25), & it was excellent.

Menus do differ slightly by region, especially gluten-free options, but most are available in most places.“

“First timer today, needed a quick dinner after a workout and a bowl from here sounded like a good idea. Parking seemed like it would be an issue, luckily I nabbed a 15 minute spot right nearby. I liked the clean environment and the build your own bowl concept. I got a regular size bowl with brown and white rice, mostly tofu but a scoop of shrimp. After all the toppings I chose (edamame, seaweed salad - yum! Etc.), this turned out to be a substantial size dinner that I might have leftovers from). The base marinade and all the choices of toppings were very nice, and everything came together quite well and tasty. For just a little over $20 I felt this bowl was worth the time and money to get. Service was friendly and options were explained to me clearly as the bowl was being made. I plan on returning to this place!“
