“Fantasic staff! They are always so friendly and helpful! They always remember us when we come in. The shabu is fantastic. The broth selections are wonderful and you can mix and match! Produce is fresh, lots of beers on tap. Only critisism is I wish they would change their chairs, they aren’t comfortable; the food is so good though it’s worth being uncomfortable!“

“My cousins brought me here to celebrate my 25th birthday. I love shabu, and I have yet to try this spot out.

Parking: They're located in a medium sized plaza, and there's plenty of free parking.

Ambiance/Environment: It's very clean inside. There's a decent amount of seating. We visited on a Thursday night, so it wasn't too busy.

Service: Our server was efficient. We didn't catch her name, but she was knowledgable about the menu when we asked questions. Throughput was under 15 min after ordering. After receiving our orders, our server checked on us a couple times.

Soup & meats: My bf and I ordered the 'specials for 2' and went with the shared brisket set. The soup was decent; wasn't too salty. My favorite part were the briskets. It came with a generous amount of briskets. The toppings were also fresh. This special included beers and desserts.“

“My friend and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was fair and there are options for indoor and outdoor dining. There are plenty of ingredients to choose from: bok choy, fish balls, imitation crab sticks, fish cakes, tofu, ramen and/or egg noodles. The ingredients look fresh and well-maintained. Once you are finished choosing your ingredients on a large bowl, the cashier will have it weighed and you'll choose your preferred broth on the menu. I opted for chicken broth and chose it to be not spicy. The total price varies per weight, but it's worth it especially if you're craving authentic hot-pot like soup. Once you finish paying, they'll lend you a buzzer and it will beep once your order is ready.

We only waited for less than 10 minutes, and I was impressed with the presentation and service. I added some green onions on top, right before eating it outside. The broth has an umami flavor, while the egg noodles and vegetables I chose were not overcooked. I also love the chewiness of the fish balls and tofu. I'll be back again if I'm craving some Fast Hot Pot by UC Irvine.“

“If your into the medicinal hot pot than this is the place. They have the spicy Szechuan peppercorn broth, that broth is spicy 🌶️. The selection of meats and fish are great. You build your own sauce, so put everything in it. You can basically put everything in and still can’t go wrong. They also have a little desert bar for you at the end to freshen up the palate and breath. They even have tooth brush and other hygiene items for you in the restroom. Nice touch.“

“Went for the first time last night as we are visiting from Las Vegas. We absolutely loved it. The service from both the servers and owner were subpar. The food and drinks were to die for, especially the food. We got to enjoy karaoke singing from the other patrons. The owner was extremely accommodating towards my service dog. He had a few questions which is normal but he said he had never had one in his establishment before us. Will definitely be back when we are in town ?? Lots of love from us! You sit yourself, choose from the menu, and order from the front. They will deliver food for you. You may need to get your own utensils at very busy times.

“Thanks to them the first time i came in was able to have a thanksgiving meal when i had no food at home. I even brought my mom and daughter and they love it. “There are 3 locations in Orange County but my favorite location is Irvine. The second location would be in Costa Mesa because they do serve outdoor I can bring my fur baby. I love hot pot in general but I must say Mokkoji hot pot still my number 1 hot pot place out of all. I love their Fire Crab Soup Base which no other hot pot has this flavor. I normally ordered the Surf & Turf which they offer a large beef plate but you would pick your beef choice of cuts and the price is different as well depend on what cut you choose. Beside the beef plate it came with seafood plate contain half lobster, scallops, salmon, white gulf shrimps and shrimps paste. As for appetizer you can pick between garlic shrimps or something else. But because I always get garlic shrimp so I wouldn’t remember what are there other choices. Come with drinks and desserts as well. But this time I just ordered the combination of beef and shrimp since that’s what I felt like at that moment. Also they offer unlimited greens, but not Enoki Mushrooms or Tofu, ect….“
