“Absolutely must try sushi spot. I have eaten at very fancy sushi places and this place not only beats those fancy places but it does it at such a reasonable price. All the sushi we ate was fresh and big portions. We loved it so much we went back twice on our 3-day road trip! There is an outdoor patio so we were able to bring our dog which was a plus. Also shoutout to the service, it was excellent and the waitresses were so lovely and nice. If we ever pass thru again, we are 1000% stopping by.”

“I tried something new today, the hot Turkey open face sandwich smothered in a wonderful mushroom gravy. OMG 😱 So good ! And my salad was the perfect size to complement the large portion of the hot Turkey. I added a little Tabasco cause that what I do. I thought I was finished until the little waitress offered dessert 🍨. I ordered a piece of their home made apple 🍎 pie 🎉🎊😱. People let me tell you this is a bucket lister. With out a doubt the best apple pie I have ever had. And yes they make it from scratch. Great lunch experience today ! I ordered a piece of pie for a friend who is not feeling well and dropped it off to her. Thanks Victorian Corner for such a pleasant atmosphere to have my lunch 🙏.”

“The best pepperoni pizza we’ve eaten in a long time. The base was perfect, tomato sauce really nice and a generous topping of cheese and pepperoni. The service was great, friendly, efficient and helpful offering suggestions to find a place to eat at the beach. If we lived locally we’d definitely be back!”

“I wanted to write the perfect review but I won't be able to do that. The people there were so nice and so warm. The location is in an old house in historic downtown Pacific Grove. But I can't let this go, the prices were high (as expected) and then they did the old trick of, "Did you want chorizo with that"....without telling you it's a $6 upcharge for two teaspoons added on top of your $17 plate of chiliquilies. So for $23, you get a full plate, I mean piled high of tortilla chips covered in a homemade red sauce (delicious). A table or teaspoonful of queso fresco per the recipe (delicious), two fried eggs, and sour cream on the side, (awesome). Most recipes for this dish that I've eaten will offer a choice of protein. Chorizo is a very common breakfast protein for this recipe. I would argue that it should be part of the recipe regardless but if you ask people, "Do you want chorizo on that?", many will say yes for the reasons I mentioned above. But when the bill comes watch out. It was a $6 upcharge to my $17 choice of breakfast. If it's an upcharge you have to tell me in advance. "Do I want it?", is one question. "Do I want it for the price you will charge me?", has to be a separate question. If it's some amount that high, an extra 1/3 of the price of my breakfast, then you shoudl feel extremely obligated to tell me how much. Don't make me feel like an a-hole bringing up your sketchy business upcharge practices to you in the middle of a super-packed breakfast/brunch rush when you hand me the bill. I didn't bring it up but I wanted to, very badly. As good as the meal was the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and more than a week later I'm still shaking my head about it. For a place that thrives on tourist and word-of-mouth business, there's no reason for this type of shady business antics which leads someone like me who otherwise really enjoyed this place to go to the trouble of leaving a bad review. I probably won't go back due to this.”

there is a shorter, a little older, extremely kind, woman who works there and has for many years. She was there back when I was living out of the area and my visits home she would let me practice my (awful) Spanish to order my sandwich so I wouldn't forget (since I lived where there were virtually ZERO Spanish as a first language speaking people 🤦🏼‍♂️). Now that I'm home, and i order it through the app mostly, she always makes me feel confident in knowing my sandwich is going to be exactly what I ordered and never misses a chance to say "hola" as I pick up and go. She not only deserves to be recognized as an amazing employee - she deserves a raise. I would go out of the way to get a sandwich from her, as opposed to any other subway or sandwich shop. Honestly.”

I usually have the Pismo Pier Omelet but this year they had a spicy sausage patty that I teamed with a biscuit and gravy DELICIOUS! Others in our group had the strawberry waffles which are light and fluffy and overflowing with beautiful strawberries and topped with whipped cream. WOW! Penny’s is not a large establishment so there may be a line but it is well worth the wait.”

“My daughter saw a reel a couple weeks ago of Sgt Peppers Ice Cream Parlor and when I googled it I saw an article it closed in 2022. We decided to drive by to check anyway and I'm so glad we did! It's open and such a fun place for any music fan! Lots of LPs available to purchase and memorabilia everywhere (not just the Beatles!). Even vintage seating. The kind of place you'd spend a couple hours and still find things you didn't see before. The owner Gary was very nice. I asked about the beautiful fountain in the store and turns out he made it! They have coffee, tea, vegan sorbet, and multiple Tillamook ice cream flavors, but the vibes are what really make this place a hidden gem!

“The good part, the food is pretty decent. I loved the flavored iced tea they used to have until the machine broke, probably back in March. It was delicious!!! Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any urgency to get it repaired or buy a new one. I come in all the time asking (they are annoyed by my repeat questions, lol). I’m very sad about the no iced tea!

The bad part is the service, specifically the rudeness from the employees. I know that they are super busy, but so are other extremely busy places (example, in-n-out). No excuse to be rude. I guess that is not a quality that the owner cares about in their employees. Again, sad. Kindness comes from the heart.”
