“We love coming to Pacific Grove and when traveling with kids it is hard to find a place with something to keep everyone happy. They gave us a cute table outside in the beautiful weather. The wagyu burger was great and the onion rings are some of the best we have ever had! We even came back the next day for some more. The Pizza was delicious and pasta and salads were great and fresh. Get the focaccia bread as an appetizer and you can’t go wrong. We will be back!“
“A true family run restaurant that serves great food. You know it's good when most customers are locals. We had dinner, I had the filet of sole and husband had the steak. Both entrees were delicious. We will be back to try their breakfast next trip.“
“Awesome little place in Pacific Grove near the beach. I ordered the Salmon and Potato Pancake and think it was prob the single best breakfast meal I've ever had! Smoked salmon + potato pancake + crème fraiche. I also added a fried egg on top. We will def be back“
“Super fun, classy hotdog and shake joint, in a surf/skate shack styling w/ a really nice patio area. Great food; the "tangy slaw" was a masterful, coarse chopped, mixture of red and green cabbage. The house chili was very good...if I recall it was the "Reefs" dog. The shakes we tried were great; quite impressed with the blackberry and also by the sheer number of offerings. The place just has good vibes; very friendly staff and (regular) customers alike. ...I must have been too tired to notice Kimchi on the menu before ordering and was a little heartbroken (until next time) hearing that it can be added to any menu item.“
“It was their Traditional Yerba Mate service that caught our attention and then coincidentally reading a little of their backstory brought us in. Once settled, we instantly felt at home and couldn't have enjoyed our visit(s) more. Clearly locals love the spot for its relaxed atmosphere and food...Ok I mean absolutely fantastic food. You simply have to try all their empanadas, the mind-blowing Sopa and Lemon Delight. Don't miss out on their gem offering... Yerba Mate!Mate: really is a way of life (relaxed). It takes a little time, make the time, it's so worth it. The staff were surprised/delighted by my order of a traditional (hot) Mate service, and the owner came out with an exuberant "You're drinking Mate!?!" We had a nice conversation about the ritual of drinking Mate, Paraguay and some of her experiences with the cafe. Our second visit though, led to a lengthy discussion with a knowledgeable staff member about more advanced techniques for Yerba Mate preparation, character of the various brands, etc...I've been casually enjoying Mate for twenty years and still came away with a better understanding. They're so kind and pleasant, you'll enjoy the experience whether you're a newbie needing to be walked through the process or a budding connoisseur.“
“Such a cute little place, loved everything about it.First the ambiance was very organic and chic, small, cozy but never felt cramped. Clean, earthy wholesome. The staff was super friendly, and lovely. The food fantastic, very generous portions and the mimosas excellent.“
“Wow! This place is excellent. Super delicious, healthy, clean food. The folks that work here are super nice and they totally care about the awesomeness they're providing. It's just a very special spot that's really well done and a pleasure to have discovered!“
“Took a quick trip to Monterey this weekend, and I'm glad I got to try Captain + Stoker. I'm ashamed to admit, but I think I've become a coffee snob over the years. The flavor has to be just right -- not too bitter, dark, or acidic.I gravitate towards toasty flavor profiles, and the latte I had at C+S perfectly hit the spot. This is their smaller location (without seating), and we'll be checking out their larger one later today before we head out of Monterey! (Need to get it at least one more time before I leave)“
“Short review:Nice staff, they have VERVE coffee! Chicken & waffles are fire.Longer review:I had one of the best breakfasts ever years ago in Monterey. It was a place that served verve coffee & had these bomb chicken & waffles with country gravy. I always wanted to go back to that place but found out they closed. However I did some digging & found out that that former owner owned THIS restaurant & they also serve Verve coffee (which is the best coffee) & made the same chicken & waffles. We decided to go here & it did not disappoint, it was once again one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.I’m not sure how it makes sense to put together fried chicken, sweet syrup, slightly spicy country gravy & a waffle to make a perfect breakfast but it just works & is I believe a marvellous example of God’s good common Grace. There are many things that will keep me coming back to Monterey, & this place is definitely one of them.Their crab Benedict was also pretty good, & its right next to a gold course & you have a view of the ocean.“
“Yes yes yes this place is the spot! Owned by the same family forever, I love that it's literally a local sandwich shop. Usually I get their turkey sandwich but I switched it up and got a meatball sub...let me tell you..SO good! Their macaroni salad is a must buy when you go in. I love the fact they sell Icecream and cookies too! My daughter loves their cinnamon buns.“
“This place is very delicious. I have been here quite a few times. However, I'm writing this to the staff in the restaurant. I am ukrainian and came in today and noticed that the beef stroganoff was labeled Ukrainian. With all due respect, this dish is pure Russian. It was invented in the Tsarist era of Russia. It is good to support the truth, however it is disrespectful to label a dish with the wrong country just to support it. That is hate towards the orgin of this dish and is very disturbing to me as a Ukrainian.“
“We got there a little late, maybe 40-30 minutes before closing and you could tell the place was packed. I was worried they would turn us away, but not only did they not do that, they were super nice and seated us really quickly. It took a while before we were able to place our order, but it was worth the wait. The food came out faster than it took to get our order in. The food was good, and not as pricey as other places in the area.Kid-friendliness: They have markers and paper coloring/activity sheets and a small kids menu.“
“I walk by or gone by this place many times. Finally went to it. Loved it, very casual. Great service. Excellent food. Great prices and it was beautiful out , so I sat outside. I had an omelette, potatoes and English muffin. I will be back.Wheelchair accessibility: Park out on the street. There's lots of parking in Pacific Grove on lighthouse“
“First of all, you can't beat the view here. There is not a bad view from any of the tables with an ocean view from almost any seat. Some places would rest on that, but the food and service definitely make this place worth a visit. We stopped in for brunch and got the Al Pastor Pizza and corn ribs. Both were well cooked and the salsa on the Al Pastor was smokey and tasty! I got the stout which was a great beer but a poor choice with the pizza. The play is to get a flight so you can get some beer and seltzers. There's wine on the menu as well as some sake based cocktails.“
“Here to say Ivan from the grill came to the rescue! We are long time locals and enjoy the grill on those Long Beach days, however, today was different. We had been enjoying the beach for just a bit when my daughter face planted into the stairs. We packed it up and before we could get up the stairs, Ivan came down with a bag of ice and a lollipop for her! Grateful for his quick, unprompted response and thankful to have people like that running our local beachside grill! Nothing tops those fries with a soft serve either -Lindsey C.“
“The food is so delicious. We ordered Farfalle with side of grilled chicken, Wild Rock Cod and Pesto Penne. All are very delicious. We went on Wednesday for lunch. Both portions and prices are very reasonable. The service was a little bit slow but we understood the situation. There was only one lady serving customers and a helper bringing water and took empty plates. And they got a huge group of people before us to serve. We waited around 25 minutes to get her to take our orders but just in 10 minutes, our orders came to our table. It’s worth the wait because the food is so… good!?“
“This is a place I always recommend to my vegan and vegetarian friends. One of my favorite things to do is order food to go and take it just down the way to Asilomar Beach! I only have great memories of Julias. I miss how it used to look inside under previous ownership, but still a great atmosphere! I'm not sure if they still have outside seating but I loved that feature as well. It's not easy to find a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant.Thank you so much for the wonderful food and service!“
